Q: i bought a aftermarket wiring harness for my 2003 nissan xterra and a boss stereo and i know your suppose to connect all the wires with there matching wires on the harness and stereo, but i am confused on what to do with the ground wire, because both my wiring harness and the stereo have a solid black wire and both say ground (the wiring harness says chassis ground). do i connect those two wire, or do i ground them both separately to bare metal? i am confused and any help would be great
Connecting both separately to the chassis is in effect connecting them together to the chassis. The idea is that they both need to be held at battery negative.
Q: Current wiring harness has a two wire plug for a sensing circuit but the new alternator does not have a provision for connecting the plug. One of the wires goes to the ignition switch and the other to the alternator lamp on the dash.
Check voltage between both wires with the original alternator and the engine running as well as stopped (but key on). my guess is the original alternator closes the circuit between the positive (coming from ignition key) and lamp. As for the replacement alternator my guess is it supplies ground from its only connector when the lamp should be lit (please measure it with voltmeter!). If my theory is correct you should wire a relay in the middle to allow the lamp to be lit, since you need a positive for the lamp.
Q: I have a 2000 impala, and just got a aftermarket stereo because the ones on impalas mess up too easily, but anyways i connected all the wires, ground on the screw, all the speaker wires, the ignition wire is hooked up to a red wire coming from the stereo, and im assuming since the other one is red, that this one goes there, and i got the basic GM harness, i dont want to wast money on the chime ones, also got a antenna adapter, but when i plug everything in you can hear it like it just reset then when you press Display, the time an everything else glows up, but turns back off and nothing else works, im assuming its the ignition wire but give me your opinions please.
you didn't connect the wires rightthe plug in to your stereo have all the colors and you connect them to the wire harness same colors, some of em are white and black and solid white so make sure tyou got em all connected right
Q: I have a 1994 toyota pickup 2wd. Just recently it had a wire burn up on the wiring harness running to the alternator from the main harness. It burned the ground clean off the alternator the first time then I fixed the wiring and the second time it did it again but on the ground running to the fender but it was the same wire but on the other side of the plug in. When going down the road, the lights and radio would start skipping then the truck motor would start skipping also then just shut completely off. Thats where i found that wire burnt up. I can't fix it after two attempts. Please help
OUCH! you may have a wire somewhere with the installation cracked or coming off touching ground. If a cluster of wires in a cable burn up, it could be costly replacing the whole thing, hope that's not the case?
Q: Can the wiring harnesses for car stereos be re-used becuase i dont feel like buying a new one?
yes they can it just depends on the condition of the harness. if the wires are cut short or they are coming out of the harness. other than that yes you can
Q: I have 2006 Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo. The stereo that is in the Jeep is the factory 6 disk MP3 player. I want to replace the radio and put in a nice radio with the ability to play my iPod music through it. I plan on buying the radio on OKorder most likely. My question is is the wiring harness that is already installed in the Jeep that goes to the factory radio will probably not fit the new radio Do I have to buy some sort of adapter or something of the sorts to make this work?
sure get a battery charger to your vehicle in case you have on obtainable take the yellow an purple twine an splice them at the same time an connect with valuable charger clamp an take the black twine from radio an connect with unfavorable clamp an turn radio on an see if it comes on. as a procedures because of the fact the speaker channels in case you have a speaker someplace which im particular you do, on an identical time as the radio is related to battery charger in simple terms connect the speaker to each and each radio channel an see if it performs. thats what i do, least complicated way i will think of of without taking it to a installation place an haveing them try it .
Q: i changed my SF4 stick with a sanwa jlf joystick. it worked fine and all of a sudden my joystick wasnt working so i put back the old stick and still didnt work. im guessing its the wiring that connects to joystick.how do i fix or change the wiring? can i use a jlf 5 pin wiring harness or is there a certan wire i need to buy for the street fighter 4 SE fightstick?
Yes, you can use the jlf 5 wire harness. If i remember correctly it is just a little tricky because only one side has the housing cartridge.
Q: i have a 97 gmc sonoma. i just bought a Sony CDX-GT640UI CD Receiver. it came with a wiring harness but i dont want to have to cut all the wires and try to match them all up. is there something that i can get that connects to the uncut stock harness then to one that fits into my new sony deck? if so where can i find it? thanks.
okorder
Q: I badly need a engine wiring harness for a 1990 Mitsubishi GSX. 2.0 L 5 speed. Having a terrible time finding one. Anyone out there know how to assist me?
Dealership or Junkyard. They usually stop making harnesses for them after ten years.
Q: hey i might have a 4.0l ranger engine to drop in to my 3.0l ranger. mines a 99 with a 5spd manuel. and what i want to know is, can i bolt up a 4.0l with the 3.0l wirring harness? and the new motor is from a 97 ranger. thanks guys
No. Even if the wiring harness was the same, which isn't too likely, your ECM is calibrated for the 3.0L.
