Q: When we turn our water on in the house it will run for a while and then shut off.. It has been coming back on after 5 0r 6 mins.it used to do this about once a week but now it does it every day we don't mess with any breakers because they don't get triped . We are on well and this well is about 7 yrs old anyone have an idea what could be the problem .. If any more info is needed I can reply..
Would say the pressure switch is bad. You might try TURNING OFF THE POWER to the well. Use a voltage tester to make sure it is off. Use a finger nail file to file the contacts of the switch, make sure they are clean and smooth when you are through. Turn power on and watch operation of the switch, If you have a pressure gage at the switch the switch should make at about 30 psi and open at about 50 psi. If you have to replace switch be sure and add a pressure gage as it is very helpful in setting switch and troubleshooting system..
Q: After reaching a height of 50 feet , there should be enough pressure to hose around 20 to 30 feet of water from it for curing concrete structure ex: columns, slab area etc. How many inches ( diameter ) of rubber hose is required to plug the water pump for pumping water ?
It depends on your type of pump. Pumps delivering over 200 feet from bore well are usually multi-stage turbine type.
Q: I think the water pump on my 40 hp mercury outboard 2 stroke is not working, the hole witch usually pours out all the water that was used to cool the engine does not pour any water at all. Is this a problem with the water pump? If not what?
requires visual inspection of the water pump. actually, checking the telltale outlet first might be preferable.
Q: The meter on my dash was reading low even after driving for 20 minutes on a sunny day. Then all of a sudden it jumped over the 270 mark. I have a relatively new thermostat could my water pump have gone bad? I did not see any leaking coolant or anything under the vehicle.
It sounds like the thermostat was stuck open from the last drive cycle, and thats why your car wouldn't warm up, then it sounds like (somehow) it is now stuck closed. The only way to be sure is to feel for any large differences in temperature before and after the thermostat to see if its stuck.
Q: A total of three units, usually starting two units. After jumping the gate, it was like this. I haven't paid attention before. Is it a turn around?
Only trip is not to the frequency converter settings or phase sequence change, if not moved the settings and wiring, most of the reason is the original reversal, you also know that inverter turnover also has water.Check analog positive and negative polarity, inverter settings, and if there is no problem, change the phase sequence.
Q: Water pump located on the ground floor of our 10 story building is leaking and therefore it is constantly running and spilling water into the parking lot. Therefore, a plumber shut the water pump off and opened a bypass valve. After we shut off water pump all units still have good water pressure so why do we need to replace water pump? When water pump is on the incoming city water gauge reads 60psi and the gauge measuring the water shooting up into the building reads 80psi. Now both gauges read zero. How can water coming from the city at 60psi travel all the way to the 10th floor without a boost? I do not understand what is happening.
Neglecting friction losses: means = MassFlowRate * g * h turn cubic meters of water into kilograms. pass fee is already in seconds. sparkling up for h (would be meters), divide via the 4 meters / floor.
Q: I have a 1998 ford taurus. It started to over heat so i turned on the heater full blast and it didn't get hot. so i put antifreeze in it and i turned it on and it seemed ok but it started to over heat again and the tank for the antifreeze looked like the cap was going to pop off. I was just down the road from my house so i thought if i drove slow i could make it home and it turned on ok but when i put it in drive it stalled. Does this mean its the water pump??????
This is bad news. For some reason, you ran low on antifreeze. It may have been your water pump or a hose leaking that caused it. Here's the problem now. More than likely a head gasket is leaking, or a head is cracked. Either way this is a big job and should be diagnosed properly first. Sorry. Good Luck!
Q: What is the average life of a water pump in a car?
Its a very hard question to answer, like how long is a piece of string. There's no time put on them or guarantee. In all my cars I have never had to change Lucky i guess.
Q: I have a Stamas boat that I am in the middle of restoring. It has 2 chevy 350's, with borg warner (sp) tranny's, and v-drives. Anyway, it has standard water pumps to cool the engines, and it had 2 Sherwood pumps to circulate the water to cool the tranny's, and v-drives. First, I am using the boat in Lake Michigan only, the water is very cool year round since it is such a big body of fresh water. I was wondering if there was any recommendation on possibly using 2 electric pumps to circulate the water? If so, what would a good unit be? Second, the transmission coolers were brass, with a honey comb in the center for the ATS fluid to run through, and the water would run on the outside to cool the fluid. Is this a more effective way to cool the fluid than with those expensive brass fitting? Just checking before I spend a few hundred on them to see if a better way to cool my engine and tranny's, in all honestly though, I am more worried about effectiveness than cost.
You would be playing with fire to use electric pumps to cool the transmissions and v drives. I doubt they would put out the volume of cooling water needed to cool them and have enough extra volume just in case. Besides, the raw water pumps also would cool the engines and exhaust systems if they are raw water cooled or they would cool the anti freeze and exhaust and transmissions with heat exchangers and oil coolers. Those transmission coolers should be plumbed into the raw water system using the same water that flows through the engines. Not to mention the reliability of the electric pumps vs engine driven pumps.
Q: how do i remove and replace the water pump on a 2003 ford focus with a 2.0 engine
I have a diesel one with a noisy water pump in the winter and in the summer it's quiet! Been like this for four years!
