The pumps are of horizontal and segmental type construction. The shaft is subcritical. For improving the cavitation behaviour the impeller of the first stage is provided with an enlarged entrance area. End thrust is balanced by balance disk. The impeller only with suction side wear ring.
The rating of the balance disk ensures complete hydraulic balancing of the thrust forces in all of the performance range. The rotor is supported by roller bearing in two ends.

- Q: I just opened up the water pump on my '86 cr250 and found it to be pretty dry. Found out why as soon as I threw some light on it. Yep, all but a TINY hole in both hose nipples (?) are completely gunked up in some nice light green/white crap.Does anybody know what this is? Okay obviously it's coolant, but why is it so dry? What causes it? My bike never quot;overheatedquot;, but there's very little travel room for the liquid. What should I do now? Clean it out and run new water through it?
- Appears your cooling system has not been flushed for years thus the build-up of slime, (seems maybe even 'dry-slime'). The cooling system should be flushed clean, a new water pump and gaskets installed.

- Compare it against the price of a new pump. 1000miles isnt a lot for a waterpump, but can you be certain the car only did 1000miles? Waterpumps can last for 100,000 miles, but if a new waterpump is only $50 or $60, I would buy a new one.

- most cars, it is in the front, driven by the timing belt. If you are going to replace the pump, replace the timing belt also (if there is one), as it's probably overdue, and you have to remove it to get at the water pump. Also the tensioner. Replacing the timing belt is a difficult task. If you screw it up, you could damage the engine. .

- i think its a 3/8 screw looking from the back of the motor it will be on your port side under the carb....don't forget to lock your water pump.....

- water pump at autozone is about $130.00 to 190.00. to have it installed will be expensive because i think your timing belt in connected to the water pump and that will also have to be replaced. while there in there have them check the belt tensioners and replace if necessary . because this is not the time to go cheap. cause if u don't replace these items one of them could fail and result in permanent engine damage. better safe than sorry . i think it has two tubes. good luck
- Q: We recently fixed our stone water fountain, and now we're trying to get it working. THe pump we had was about 5 yrs old, and didn't work. We've tried to get a new one online, but it only had one inlet for the water to go into the pump, and that got clogged in a matter of about 5 minutes. Since our garden has many trees, it's almost impossible for us to keep the fountain 100% clean all the time to prevent clogging. Anybody know where to get a pump for a 15gal fountain, that has multiple inlets?
