Although the Imperial club does not sell or distribute any parts, there are some good resources and tips there. What I do recommend is that you buy a copy of Hemmings and look up some of the services out there that are water pump specialists. Your water pump is a very unique one in that it probably has not been available since WWII. So careful rebuilding of the original one in your car is key.

Q: I was wonder if there is a water pump in the out drive, my boat is overheating we are think it could have something to do with the water pump: The water pump is located in the outdrive. You should see a screen area on the lower end where the pump is loicated. I would guess the impeller needs to be replaced. You should stop running the engine 'till it is fixed.

Q: I recently bought a 01 firebird trans am. was doing some maintenance on it. basic stuff, tune up, serpentine belt, break flush, and a coolant flush. I didn't notice any leakage in the car, and neither did any mechanics before. Last week when i did all these basic maintenance i went back to check up on one more thing. The mechanic raised my car up and asked when I'm replacing my water pump.Seeing that it was leaking...but the liquid wasn't green, more or less brown and it didn't have any particular smell, but its not coming from the oil pan. What I'm thinking is that maybe the hoses were completely tightened? All help would be appreciated! thank you!: you can try to see if the pump is working before you start after it has been sitting ...make sure it is NOT HOT take the radiator cap off start the car and let it run when it warms up the water will start to circulate through the radiator you can see it with the cap off if the is then the pump is working ... check hoses again to make sure they are tight keep an I on your gauge if it starts to get hot it might be the pump or the thermostat itself if in doubt take it another mechanic and get a second opinion

Q: Hello,Thanks for looking into my question. I am a little confused on the definition of a submersible water pump. I am assuming that they are actually submerged but that sounds a bit unlikely in my mind. I suppose if it has a GFCI setup built in with everything sealed beyond the portion that pumps, it would work submerged without any risks involved.Are submersible water pumps meant to be fully submerged? I am mainly interested in this information because I am concerned about the amount of noise they make, being submerged seems likely that they would not be able to be heard. Thanks.: This type of pump is designed to run under water and when submerged will make little noise.

Q: What does the lift of a pump mean?: The pump lifts water from the surface to the highest point, such as a submersible pump working below the surface of the water. The pump head is still applied to the water level, not the water pump.

Q: where would I be able to find information on how to change out a water pump for that specific type of vehicle and year, as well I had got a stain on the body from road work it seems to be cement how could I take spots out without damaging the body's paint? Q: Hello, I'm having an issue with grinding/metallic noise from engine bay. Alternator was replaced today and didn't fix. However, when I got the car back from the garage the oil level indicator is saying quot;inactivequot;. I seem to find some answers on the web that say the oil level indicator is in some way connected to the water pump. Car has 95k miles on and I doubt it had been changed. Could this be the cause of the noise? And could anyone possibly tell me which pulley it is on the belt? Many thanks for your time :): E92 has should be an electric water pump if it's a 6 cylinder. The oil level will read inactive until the engine is up to operating temp. As for the grinding noise- they need to remove the belt and start the car. If the noise is gone- spin the idler pulley and listen for bearing noise. I've had a couple of alternators go bad on these cars so I can't fully fault the shop- but they SHOULD have verified the source of the noise as well as the repair. Other potential issues would be the P/S pump or the A/C compressor. (only items on the belt).

Q: How important is a torque wrench,if so what is the proper fp torque for pump/pulley ?: It shouldn't be that critical for water pump bolts. It is extremely important for something like engine head bolts because of the extreme pressures inside the cylinders. Just refrain from over-tightening. I've replaced a number of water pumps and have never used a torque wrench.

Q: when i drove my truck after about 15 minutes i was parked and let my truck idle afetr about a minute of idling my truck stalled and when i turned it back of it was squeeking and made some noises for about ten seconds and then stopped. I noticed that the pully on my fan coming from the water pump was wobbling. my tempuratue was still normal what could cause this i am suspecting taht the bearings in my water pump went?: Ram Water Pump
