- Q: I've been noticing a difference in the temperature gage lately. The quot;change oillight has also been coming on and I just had an oil change not even a month ago, and the car isn't even due back for at least another month. I noticed there's a green/blue liquid in my driveway today, too. I looked under the car and something is leaking or dripping around the passengers side front wheel. More so the passenger-middle side. I've been told it could be the water pump.
- If it's not a heater hose leaking your most likely right that the water pump is bad and loeaking coolant out of the weap hole, which is their so you know it's bad and needs replaced , i believe you should be able to have a new water pump labor for around $300, bucks.Don't put it off to long or you might blow the head gasket. You don't wont to do take.
- Q: My husband has a 78 t-bird and it has steam comming out of it. He replaced the water-pump 2 to 2 1/2 yrs ago. The warranty was only for 1 year should it need to be replaced this soon?
- Years is the wrong way of looking at it. You should look at in mileage. And it depends on if the replacement was a new or re manufactured. Remans last about 1/3 the time (or mileage) of a new. Be sure to check the entire cooling system and fix the problem. I've seen people replace entire cooling systems ( radiators, water pumps, thermostats) only to find out it was a head gasket.
- Q: What is a water pump for?
- A pump is a machine that transports liquids or pumps liquids. Mainly used to transport liquid, including water, oil, acid and alkali liquid, emulsion, suspension emulsion and liquid metal, etc., also can transport liquid, gas mixture and liquid containing suspended solids.
- Q: What is the 10KV pump unit?
- The 10KV pump unit, driven by a high voltage motor, is used for drawing water!
- Q: water pump has small leak
- Realistcally you have a 10 12 months previous motor vehicle, so your water pump has used up its existence sorry. provide up leak products are in lots of situations an outstanding powdered aluminum/epoxy combination and NO they gained't fix a water pump seal. previous provide up leak products have been easily extra suitable yet used asbestos as a leak fix, so the government banned its use. My advice, is to save around slightly for yet another value, because it does sound incredibly steep. Sorry approximately your concern. Please remember anti freeze can bypass on the instant, so do no longer threat an engine overheat at a foul time, carry 2 gallons of spare coolant
- Q: After I replaced the water pump impeller in my outboard I fired up the motor and now its not pumping any water through the pee-hole at all and also the prop is spinning in the neutral position (motor seems as if it is in gear and trying to move). Would this be because of the shift rod or the drive shaft not being in the proper position and possibly the impeller is being span the wrong in the impeller housing cup?
- I had that problem once and the tube going to the pee-hole was blocked, the next time higher revs caused enough pressure to unblock it. With the motor NOT running, put it in forward, then neutral, or reverse then neutral. If the prop is locked, it's still in gear. If it was OK before the work, you probably need to re-adjust the linkage. The drive shaft from the motor only turns one way and so does the impeller. The prop shaft has a clutch dog that controls F-N-R through linkage adjustment. Good luck
- Q: I have been quoted $600 to have a a water pump placed on my 2003 saturn vue. Also, another $300 if a thermostat is also needed. I cannot afford this at this time. Additionally, I have had problems with the car without reason all of a sudden not starting. Then, when I get the car to the mechanic it starts. It drives me nuts. Do I need to have the fuel pumps replaced? Do I need to replace both fuel pumps or just one, and which one?
- It okorder /... It will take you about 2-3 hours the first time. If you ever do it again, you will substantially reduce the time it takes from start to finish. The thermostat change is really really easy... a child could do it. Just make sure the thermostat is firmly in it's place before you snug down on the bolts, or you will crack the housing.
- Q: I have a 1990 GMC K1500 Sierra and about 1 week ago I went to check the anti-freeze level. I noticed it was a tiny bit down. So I look down at the lower radiator hose and it had a slow drip. So the next day I changed the anti-freeze, New thermostat, and a New lower radiator hose. So I thought it was fine but yesterday I went to go check the anti-freeze and the level was down. I look at the lower radiator hose and it has a slow drip again. The hose I replace was Brand New. Could this be a water pump? I did notice a tiny bit of anti-freeze on the water pump. Or what could this be or do I have to change the hose again?
- If the water pump is leaking, there should be a trail of coolant going down the engine. Gotta find where the leak is coming from to determine what to replace. Upper hose, clamps, radiator? Sometimes ya gotta hose off all the antifreeze, let it dry, then look. Good luck.
- Q: noise when i acclerate you cant hear it as much because of engine noise but when its at idle the squealing noise is somewhat loud does anyone know what it could be ? its not the water pump because i bought it new and im not overheating and the belts arent too tight either i have already checked them
- Take the fan belt off and spin the water pump by hand. If it's dead silent make sure the new water-pump outer flange is holding the pulley directly over the pulley's on the crankshaft. If they aren't in perfect alignment or you hear noise tear the pump off and take it back. The outer pulley flange or noisy impeller makes it a candidate for a new pump. Why not get your money back from the whining pump and order a Stewart or Moroso aluminum racing pump for a few bucks more.
- Q: my water pump is leaking how do i change it out
- Pull your belts off and the fan, clutch assembly if there is one. Undo those eight or so bolts that hold the pump on and swap it for a new one. Drain the coolant first or you'll have a mess on your hands. You don't always have to remove the radiator but sometimes that gives you more clearance to work with.
