CDL/CDLF is a kind of vertical nonself priming multistage centrifugal pump, which is driven by a standard electric motor.
The motor output shaft directly connects with the pump shaft through a coupling.
The pressureresistant cylinder and flow passage components are fixed between pump head and inand outlet section with tiebar bolts. The inlet and outlet are located at the pump bottom at the same plane.
This kind of pump can be equipped with an intelligent protector to effectively prevent it from dry-running, out-of-phase and overload.

- I believe if you are looking at the motor the water pump will be to your left on top of the motor and to the front. Drain the radiator. There is a big smooth pulley that turns the water pump loosen the 4 10mm bolts, remove the belt the remove the bolts. Under the pulley there will be 5 or 6 8mm bolts remove those, make sure a drain pan is under the pump because there will be some residual coolant in the motor. Scrape the old gasket off of the engine block then reverse the procedures to install the new pump. Make sure you torque the pump to the proper specs so that the pump housing does not distort. You can pick up a Chiltons manual for that car a local parts store that can walk you through this in greater detail with pictures. Good Luck

- The manual pages JerryJ is referencing are HV-24 through HV-28. Essentially, you drain the coolant, remove the front bumper cover and the left head light assembly to expose the pump. It is held by two bolts and has one connector and two hoses. After replacement the coolant is refilled and the system must be burped. Those two nipples at the front of the inverter have to be used, but I haven't had success piping them back to the reservoir as the manual describes. I gravity feed them into a clean jar on the floor and recycle the fluid manually. When it is done you should see strong flow in the reservoir as you look in the top with the ignition on but not ready. The level usually drops after driving around the block - top it up and enjoy.

- IM leaning toward a cracked head gasket due to the fact that you are losing mass coolant, its going out the tailpipe if there are no puddles under the car, if there are green puddles under the car, your water pump may be leaking too. Cracked head gaskets do not always dump coolant in the oil. You do not mention year make and model, this sometimes helps as some models are famous for blowing head gaskets. you need a mechanic to do a pressure test of your radiator, if you lose coolant, its time to replace the broken parts, its only getting worse. good luck.fix it before it ruins the whole motor.
