CDL/CDLF is a kind of vertical nonself priming multistage centrifugal pump, which is driven by a standard electric motor.
The motor output shaft directly connects with the pump shaft through a coupling.
The pressureresistant cylinder and flow passage components are fixed between pump head and inand outlet section with tiebar bolts. The inlet and outlet are located at the pump bottom at the same plane.
This kind of pump can be equipped with an intelligent protector to effectively prevent it from dry-running, out-of-phase and overload.

CDL type is applicable to conveying non-corrosive liquid, While CDLF is suitable for slightly corrosive liquid.

- Q: My 2005 Lexus IS300 is close to 90K miles and I believe the timing belt/water pump should be replaced. I have priced this with several dealers and mechanics and at this time I can't afford close to $1000 to have this done. However, I see there are kits that can be purchased for about $400.Can a DIY'er with above average mechanical experience replace the belt nd pump relatively easily?
- The fact that you've posed that question here is a pretty fair indicator that you will NOT have an easy time trying to do this work. And actually $1k is not a bad price for this type of repair. If you make a mistake while performing this work yourself the consequences could be very, very severe, i.e., completely blowing your engine. If I were you, I'd rely on public transportation until I could save the requisite $1k to have a shop do the repair.

- I'm sorry to tell you, but from your description it sounds as if you have major internal engine damage. A water pump just won't cause the symptoms you are describing. I'd have to say your engine is close to seizing up entirely - the knocking sounds like rod knock in the bottom end of the motor.

- More than likely your water pump was about to go. If it has or had more than 50,000 miles on it, I wouldn't be suspicious of anything. Usually, the timing belt is right in there with the water pump and it is the most critical belt of them all. When you take your car back have them inspect it. A snapped timing belt can ruin your engine.
- Q: and it still runs about every 1/2 hr even if you are not using water. I have no leaks from the pump thought the house so I think the problem is between the house and the well. I can't hear or see any leaks in the elbows in the well. I tried to pull the foot valve up but can't get it out. I replaced the pump cause it was worn out and it was running every 15 min. Do I need to set the pressure on the new one it cuts off at 42 and on at 20 psi and what else could cause it to run when it shouldn't? I know I should call a plumber, but haven't worked in months and can not afford one.
