Q: I would like to ask the river for about 70 degrees on the steep slope pumping 170 meters, flat 40 meters into the pool, what should I choose water pump? How many heads? How to choose the water pump model? Thank you
Pump selection parameter:1, lift, if the head is large, the use of multi-stage vertical centrifugal pump, if the head is small, the use of horizontal axial flow centrifugal pump2. Displacement3, suction stroke, if the suction range is short, select the submersible pump, suction distance, select centrifugal pump
Q: So my daughter's car is an 02 Accord manual with about 127k miles. It's making a squeaky noise which apparently is the belts. The dealer says they're too tight, but are in okay condition. They want to change the water pump and adjust the belts for $750. This seems a bit steep to me. Does the water pump need to be changed if it's working properly? How much should it cost to adjust the belts? I'm thinking she should find a more reasonable shop. What are your thoughts?
Belts can and do squeal. Usually because they are loose and have begun to glaze up. They get a real slick look on the sides. In addition there are several pully bearings that can and do make noise. My suggestion is to find a reputable shop (or two) for another opinion. While you are there, ask what the factory recommended time intervals are for timing belts and water pump on that make and model. At 127k I have to wonder if the timing belt/water pump have already been changed. My last 3 vehicles called for the belt to be changed 80-90k and the pump 100k (if i remember correctly). And as it requires removing all the same parts (on a transverse mounted front wheel drive car like yours) to gain access to either one, shops often recommend doing both to save labor in the near future. As a rule Dealer repair shops charge more, a lot more. Granted they only use factory parts, no used or rebuilt as a rule. The pump is as little as $30 (aftermarket) or more than $200 depending on make and model. If it is located where I think it is you can count on at least 4 and probably 6 hours of labor. However, if like my 2000 Mercury Sable the pump is on the drivers side, in plain view it would only take 1.5-2 hours to replace.
Q: coolant coming out around a tube that supplies the heater core (told its the water pump just don't see how)
The supply and return heater hoses have an O ring below the clamp that holds them in place directly off the casting above and to the left of the water-pump. Now please listen to this: The actual aluminum water-pump is secured buy small metric hex nuts behind the water-pump pulley. Your water-pump may have a leaking gasket where it bolts to an aluminum distribution housing. Wish I could actually see the leak! Any more specific questions don't be afraid to E-mail.
Q: does water pump sealers work?
If your talking about the water pump for a car it doesn't have any pumps those would be the radiator pumps that are connected to the water pump and transmission which keeps the radiator and transmission at a temperature that keeps the vehicle from over heating. If you have a overheating car and a mechanic told you your water pump has a leak then sorry you would have to replace the water pump but just don't go to a popular mechanic for that because it can get really expensive do your research and find you someone with a garage it cheaper because the part itself is not that expensive it putting it in that cost lol. Hope this helps.
Q: I was driving when my temp gauge shot up all the way so i pulled off the next exit and my car shut off and started smoking i noticed the water pump belt was in shreds and what seemed to be anti freeze fluid and water was everywhere. I'm curious what could have broke maybe a gasket or the waterpump it's self besides just the belt?
Water pump blew up, lost your radiator fluid and broke a belt. Don't drive it, get it towed to a repair shop.
Q: Can I get a time estimate to replace a water pump on a 1983 Nissan Sentra? I'm trying to calculate the cost of the repair separate from the part. Thanks. Also, time to replace a battery and the end on one of the attachments to the post.
well there is a manual for auto body and repair shops which will list the alotted time to replace things such as your water pump, i dont know how to get ahold of one without goign to a repair shop and asking, this book keeps them from charging 8 hours on somethign that woudl only take 2 hours, however if they run into a problem such as a broken bolt, thats where they can charge you for more time and labor but they should and i think have to tell you before fixing it . . .plus keep in mind that almost all the time, it takes more time jsut to reach the part than to replace it because you have to remove other thigns to get to it . . .sorry for the winded answer, but i woudl call some shops and ask them average times or try to get ahold of the estimate book
Q: 1.5 kW three-phase pump with 600 meters line, should match what big line?
1.5 kilowatts water pump distance 100 meters, with 2.5 square meters of electricity enough
Q: me and my friends are contemplating going on a road trip.almost 20 hours of driving.but we dont have a water pump, can you drive without one?
whether it's safe depends on what part of town you'll be in after the first half hour, cause your engine will seize up stop running at that point. basically you'll convert a repairable engine into yard art.
Q: I have oil all over my water pump. I investigated when I saw a few drops of oil in the garage that showed up every few days. I then saw a drop of clean radiator fluid. Does oil come near or through the water pump? I have a 96 nissan maxima if that helps.
STUPID ANSWERS, these answers sound like ****, something a rip off shop would say. 1- buy engine degreaser, and go to the car wash or in the drive if you want to. 2- let the car warm ou, then turn it off and spray the degreaser every where theres oil and dirt. 3- Let stand about 10mins 4- turn the engine back one and use the pressured water (CAR WASH) to wash off the cleaner. You might have to repeat the soaking a few times depending on how long its been leaking. 5- once clean, you can either just let it idle in the drive way or go drive around alittle to see if you can get the oil leak to start again to see where its coming from. Once you find the leak either fix it or just take it to a respectable shop and get a quote for the repair. Dont start assuming that theres a huge problem. It sounds like its just the valve covers, but theres afew possible things that could leak on it. Do this and it will help you find any possible leaks.
Q: Can the water from the fire pump enter the roof fire tank? Why?
Here is the concept of "fire water tank", if the roof has fire water tank, fire pump should be able to roof fire water tank water supply, as long as there is sufficient pressure on the line. However, if the roof water tank is only a living water tank, the fire pump is not started, this is the two pipelines.
