Q:Okay so we have a water pump outside instead of city water. A few days ago we noticed that it would turn off like always once the tank was full but then just would never turn back on. It was odd to us since it would always turn on and off at appropriate times. Now its on maybe 10 seconds and it shuts off. I took off one of the clear hoses it has and notices a green ooze inside it. If anyone has any information as to helping me I would so greatly appreciate it.: do you have shallow or deep well its the middle of summer the well could be dry you might have lost your prime on your pump there will be a bolt for priming take bolt out pour water in to hole untill full restart pump if pump doesnt fill up you might a stuck foot valve.

Q:My car overheats in hot temperatures I have try everything except replacing the water pump and radiator how can I tell when its time to change each one and is it a do-it-yourself job: Generally you don't need to replace a radiator unless water is running out of it. As for the water pump, if it was going bad your car would overheat when it was parked and running. Also it really isn't a do it yourself project, that is something you are better off paying a mechanic to do.

Q:I cant get water to flow though the motor It seems like the pump isnt working any advise!: Since you've done all the normal fixes already i think you should look at the possibility that your cam shaft is worn or the lifters. I'm not sure if an evinrude 20hp engine has lifters but i've had this same problem a few years back when chevy put cheap cams in some of their vehicles. The lobes on the cam were rounding off instead of being a teardrop shape and the vehicles would start and idle fine but would pop like mad on acceleration. Hope this helps!

Q:I just replaced my submersable well water pump, the wire that connects the pump, the d switch, and the water tank. Everything was installed correctly and with the help of a licensed plumber. While the D switch is closed (providing power to the pump) the pump will run for about 5 seconds then shut off for about one minute. It will continue this process until the system attains proper pressure and the D switch will open, shutting off power to the pump. The pump is brand new. Why, when power is being supplied does the pump cut on and off? We have tested the current at the well head and it shows that 230 is being supplied the whole time that the D switch is closed, which is correct.: make sure your pump is wired 220vac. you need to restrict the flow coming out of the discharge of the pump when you are filling tanks/waterlines. Once everything is full and the pump is running at operating pressure it should quit turning off. as said above it is the thermal overload protector in the motor shutting it off. The more GPM you move the more current it pulls, current=heat. restrict it by turning your valve down by half or more.

Q:Okay, the fan has the clutch unit on the front with the large nut attaching it to the water pump. Then 4 screws attach the pulley to the water pump as well. What's the best way to immobilize pulley/pump so I can get the fan blade clutch nut unscrewed? Can't hold onto the fan or clutch unit since it simply spins.
