Q: The actual way to move water (liquid) from a pond with small bits of debris. Trying to find out which system is the most efficient: vane, impeller, rotary, centrifugal...etc...either by hand or using a bicycle to turn the pump. I do NOT want to use an engine or electric motor. I've read about the transfer pumps in the hardware store are only about 50% efficient, I need something better that will provide me a continuous output. Something lightweight that will handle pressure. Any ideas? Thanks in advance!!
Most efficient (fewest parts) is a lift pump. The simplest example is if you use a bucket. You can make this easier to use with a few extra parts to make a shadoof the only losses are friction in the pivot and any leakage that takes place.
Q: we changed the water pump in the car and now the horn sealtbelt light on the dash board and the speed aumator are not working what is the problem?
You damaged the throzzle knobs.
Q: I got a water pump replaced a few month back, ( i own a 95 Honda civic) i have a wierd muffled rattle coming from that part of my car, i was told by a mechanic that it sounds like a bearing is dried out, he says that it wont affect the water pump itself but the ratlle will remain ... is this true . . .
A bearing is designed to move freely, if it becomes dry there is a very good chance that it will cause it to fail. If i was you i would get it changed as soon as possible because you don`t won`t to be broken down.
Q: We usually wait 4 - 5 minutes for hot water in our master bath. I've been looking into ricirculation pump systems. This would have to be a retro-fit system since some of the lines run through concrete slab making adding a return loop on the line non-feasible. I have found some people comment on simply using a by-pass valve system without a pump (ie. Hot Water Lobster). We do have hard water which I've also read that can present a problem with pumps dieing quite quickly. While I'd like it, I don't need 1 second hot water, but I can't stand wasting gallons waiting for 4-5 minutes. A reasonable 15-30 second wait would be a huge improvement. Has anyone had reasonable success with the bypass valve without the pump or should I plan on getting the pump too? Thanks in advance!
Without a basement, you're only moving water from the first to second floor? I'm guessing it's a large home and the baths are somewhat remote from the water heater. You should consider the pump, but perhaps a second water heater. Do you have a closet you could put a small electric unit in? I don't think that a 4-5 gallon under counter unit will do it. Good luck.
Q: Ok, so I have a 1997 3.8 liter ford mustang. I was driving home from work the other day, when temp gauge started to go up. I brought it to mechanic, and he said it was a bad water pump, due to bad antifreeze. So I am getting a new pump, and an antifreeze flush. My question is that since it overheated, will there be any damage to the engine? The temperature gauge never hit the red, and smoke never came out. I had to drive it for approx 15-20 miles when it started to overheat, and the temp gauge was bouncing from hot to normal.
Depending on how long you overheated your car and how hot it was.
Q: To express in writing, you can add appropriate pictures (composition form, preferably 600 or more, not enough, OK, I put together a bit, will give points!) What kind of person would you help me with?

Q: This was asked a year ago, so just wanted to see if there were any new answers for me. And any detail of how it can be a quot;do it yourselffix would be great. We are having major surge lately and the tanks pressure gauge reads 50 if that helps. Thanks!
The pump either needs repairs, or to be replaced. It's not the kind of thing you can really do yourself unless you know how to work on pumps. And if you knew that, you wouldn't be asking. Call a professional.
Q: My car randomly decided to dump fluids the other day. Now, the engine overheats after 5 minutes of driving it and the check engine light comes on. I put more coolant in it and noticed it began to drip underneath the car. I'm hoping it's a leak but being my car is 10 years old and I've never replaced either the water pump or the head gasket I figure it's about due time unfortunately. About how much would this cost me to have done at the garage?
Rather than guess at what is wrong you should have it tested and confirm what is wrong, then worry about how much it will cost. The two things you worry about are only part of what the problem could be by your description. Could be a hose, clamp, radiator, thermostat, cap, gasket, pipe.....
Q: Ok, so I was driving the other day when I heard this quot;clunksound...my AC went out (stopped blowing cold), and power steering went out. I pulled over and one of the wheels where the serpentine belt goes on was off and obviously the belt was off too. I got it towed to a shop where they showed me I needed a new belt - it was ripped, and told me I need a new water pump...all together a 400 dollar job after labor and parts. I was hoping I would just need a new belt and they could bolt back on the wheel...From a chic standpoint, this seemed logical. I know nothing about cars and I'm always very skeptical when I take my car anywhere to get it worked on bc I could be told anything and wouldn't know the difference...Has anyone had a similar experience or does this sound like the problem? I have a 07 honda civic...around 80,000 miles.
to make it simple what it sound like that they are saying is that the water pump is broken and when this happens in some case one can not turn the pulley of the water pump so the belt would slip on it so long until it overheats and melts leading it to rip. if u don't trust your mechanic have another mechanic look at it and if they tell you the exact same thing chances are they are both right.
Q: Hello, I have a 1996 Cavalier and it's got a small coolant leak by the water pump so I figured I'd replace it. I called around a little bit and one quote was $250. I'm sord of handy and have a few hours on Saturday is it that hard? I heard it's just a few bolts? Thanks!!
If automobiles suffered as many head gasket mess united statesas suggested real right here; there could desire to be no automobiles on the line. A mechanic is going to could desire to look at it and evaluate it to his save temperature gauge. this is not the water pump and it somewhat isn't the thermostat (until ultimately the thermostat have been given put in the different direction up-which I actual have seen take place) and it somewhat isn't the hoses. Leaves a blown head gasket or a defective sensor or a large air bubble.. Or, now you already know the situation your domestic dog mouse is.
