Q: How to install circulating water pump for cooling tower?
Water pump, cold water pump and hot water pump, the specific installation depends on the location of the cooling tower and the location of the heat exchanger, high cooling tower position, the need for hot water pump, heat exchanger position high. The cooling tower, cooling tower (Cooling tower), is using water as coolant, from a system to absorb heat emissions to the atmosphere, heat exchanged to produce steam, steam heat to volatile evaporation dissipation, convection and radiation heat transfer principle to disperse industrial waste heat or refrigeration and air conditioning to reduce evaporation cooling device therefore, in order to ensure the normal operation of the system, device as a barrel. The cooling tower can be divided into natural ventilation cooling tower and mechanical ventilation cooling tower according to its ventilation mode.
Q: I have a 1992 Pontiac Sunbird LE. It has 4 cyl. and it has 98,000+ miles on it. I took it in to get the oil changed and they inspected the car for a noise it was making. Found out the water pump was gone and the timing belt was worn. Need replacement on both. They quoted me 670.00 for the repair! STEEP! The part should cost about 20.00 max. How do I replace the water pump myself? And the timing belt? Do I need special tools? If I can't do it pretty easily myself, how much should I pay for the repair? I'm not made of money, but I need my car to run to get me to work everyday! I can't afford much, so anything around 200-300 is probably the most I can spend on the repair. What should I do?
On okorder , your timing belt with cost $15.99 and your water pump will cost $35.19 for a new one. Keep in mind that most shops charge more than that as this is how they make a profit. Depending on what their labor charge is, that doesn't sound too far out of line. I just did a timing belt and water pump on a Chrylser with a 3.5 today and it cost about $600 to do that. The water pump on your car is driven by the timing belt and is not an easy task to accomplish if you have no idea what you are doing. You can easily destroy this engine. If you are not sure how to replace an air filter, this would definately be out of range.
Q: The leak is in the same area as my water pump, but when I jacked my car up yesterday, I wasn't able see my water pump. It's a 99 Saturn SL1.With the leak, it leaks very slowly, and it only leaks about a few ounces of fluid at a time. It mostly only leaks when I start the engine while its cooled down, and it's leaking down the passenger side of my engine. If it was a bad water pump, would the antifreeze leak without stopping until all of the antifreeze is gone?
It would leak till its empty.
Q: Ok, so I have a 1997 3.8 liter ford mustang. I was driving home from work the other day, when temp gauge started to go up. I brought it to mechanic, and he said it was a bad water pump, due to bad antifreeze. So I am getting a new pump, and an antifreeze flush. My question is that since it overheated, will there be any damage to the engine? The temperature gauge never hit the red, and smoke never came out. I had to drive it for approx 15-20 miles when it started to overheat, and the temp gauge was bouncing from hot to normal.
If its starts, runs and drives its probably ok. Sometimes the engine block can crack--- if so you might notice that you are loosing oil or antifreeze---- and/or they are mixing together inside the engine. Also, if you see a lot of white smoke coming from the tailpipe then you have a problem. Otherwise, even if it was overheated it should be fine as long as it wasn't driven for extended periods, over and over. Often what really causes damage to overheated vehicles is when people add cold water to an overheated engine, which can cause it to crack as well. The spark plugs probably got the worst of it... Change the spark plugs and your oil. Good luck and best regards.
Q: After reaching a height of 50 feet , there should be enough pressure to hose around 20 to 30 feet of water from it for curing concrete structure ex: columns, slab area etc. How many inches ( diameter ) of rubber hose is required to plug the water pump for pumping water ?
from a physics point of view, the power required depends on the flow rate as well as the pressure (from the water column height). So it's impossible to say.
Q: have a leak and want to replace the pumphave tools, any thing I should know before getting started?I intend to:drain from lower hose of radiatortake of fan ( using a 1 1/2 wrench method)do I need to remove shroud first???remove fan, remove serpentine belt then remove water pump , use a little brake cleaner to clean new pump gasket area and existing engine area, put a little gasket sealer on gasket and replace pump.put everything back on, and refill with prestone Green coolant.its what is in there now and it says dextrol only but is that necessary?, most people in the know I ask say it does not matter...hows that sound?
I am not sure why you would want to get a used water pump from a junk yard as they are not that expensive even for a new one. You should be able to get one from NAPA for less than $40. I would recommend taking off the top part of the fan shroud as it isn't that hard with there only being about 6 10mm bolts holding it in place. Use a scrapper to remove the old gasket from the block. Brake clean will clean the mounting area but will not remove the old gasket material. If you try to install the new pump and gaskets with the old material still in place, there is a good chance it will leak. Check the color of the coolant that is in the vehicle now. If it is green, you can use green coolant. If it is orange (Dex cool), you better replace it with orange or else completely flush the cooling system. If you mix green and orange coolant, it has a bad habit of turning into a mud type material and can cause problems. Other than that, these pumps are not hard to change.
Q: I have a 1995 Johnson 88 Outboard. It needs a water pump. I have everything loose except the shift rod that goes all the way through the unit How is it connected and how do I disconnect it?Thanks for your answers.
Look okorder click on electronic parts catalogue select Johnson in the dropdown box upper left hand corrner click on 1995 click on 88 click on your model number (or any model #, all 3 have the same gearcase) click on cylinder crankcase the screw you're looking for is part #47 on that chart
Q: I need to replace a water pump on a '95 3100 Pontiac Grand Am and am looking for a guide how to do it. Also, do I need to flush out the coolant or can I just put a pan underneath the water pump and let the coolant pour out when I take the water pump off? Thanks.
some autos have diverse designs. The water pump on my 96 Century would were finished in a be counted of minutes. the position as some are a lot deeper in the engine. frequently, to modify a water pump like it is extremely somewhat an additional desirable step than replacing the timing belt. it is the reason it is continuously a good idea to do them both right now.
Q: My old pump burned up so i recently replaced it (with a refurbished pump) I have new pipe to the pump, new tank. my pump is a 1/2 hp 230v pump, I also replaced the control box. With my pump plugged in and the water coming straight out of the pipe bypassing the tank when I turn the power on I will get water for a minute or so then I won't get water for a minute. This will keep happening. I have checked the switch and when I quit getting water there is still power going to the pump. any suggestions or ideas? bad wiring or bad pump?...I know that there is water in thew well, the pump is located at 100 ft of a 115 ft well and i can see the water level about 10 ft underground.
A good pump would pump water continuously without being hooked to the tank. You say the power is still going to the pump when it quits but you didn't say if it is getting the proper voltage and you didn't say if the pump is still running but just not pumping. If it's still running then try raising the pump some. If it's not running then I'd suspect the thermal protector switch so you'd need a new pump. Are you sure there's a full 230V going to the pump? Sometimes ants like to get in the electrical pressure switch and get in between one or more of the contacts.
Q: I have a 2000 A4 1.8 T with 91 k miles on it. I went to the dealer for my oil service. I told them that I hear a quot;clinkingnoise when I start the car and that it goes away after the car runs for 5 minutes. I told them to check this also. They diagnosed and said that the water pump has gone bad and needs to be replaced. Since it was close to 105 K miles, I might as well change the timing belt. Total charges for both is 1250. And they also see that Cam Seals starting to leak oil. Since I was doing the timing belt, I might as well change them too. Additional cost to do them is 950. So the total for all three comes down to 2200. I bought the car at 90 K and checked it at Firestone and they said it was cool. They noticed an oil leak but said it was not anything major that needs to be taken care of right away. Do you think the dealer is taking me for a ride here? I just drove 500 miles and would things go this bad all of a sudden? Or should I make the replacements? Please advise.
Do you mean US Dollars? I mean, the prices you've mentioned are just insane! Even for an A4 the parts shouldn't cost more than two or three hundred dollars in total...And there is no way that the labour should be that much. I think you're being over-quoted by 200 or 300 percent! I'd say get another quote. Hopefully one of the ace mechanics on here can give you more precise figures but you are definitely being taken for a ride... EDIT: I just did web search and there are reputable traders offering a kit with the timing belt, tensioner and so on and a new water pump for about $240 all up. The seals aren't more than fifty dollars. Actually I just found a genuine replacement water pump on OKorder for $70, so I'd recommend you do some searching...(I can't post links to dealers because I can get reported for spamming for that, but if you google (that's a verb! lol!) A4 1.8 T with 2000 and water pump you'll find several suppliers.)
