- Q: I have 2004 Chevy Trailblazer V8 4x4 that the water pump went out on. Does anyone know how long it takes to change it and where it is located? The dealer wants $750.00 to fix it. I really don't want to get riped off.
- Takes a special tool, you can pick one up at Autozone or Checkers for under 50 bucks, or just pull the water pump with the fan still attached and take it in for them to replace it for a small fee when you buy the water pump.
- Q: can anyone show me the steps on how to remove the water pump on a 1995 dodge intrepid 3.5l engine?
- nicely I absolutely have a ninety seven and the water pump became 80.00 put in by me. It has the three.3 V6, extremely straight forward to do oil transformations spark plugs air filter out it really is a o.k. equipped vehicle. replacing the timing belt will be a really stupid theory - that guy is commonplace with no longer some thing about vehicles in any respect. see you later as you stay remote from both.7 litre engine you'd be superb. Mine is now at 165000 miles unique engine/trans I in simple terms replaced the front wheel bearings and struts. Totalling 275.00 - I put in. Then 40.00 for the alignment.
- Q: How can we calculate the maximum pump pressure for chilled water system for a 20 story building
- Once a closed circulating system is filled, the circulating pump needs only to deliver the pressure difference need to take care of circulation losses due to friction and to flow controls. The friction losses will be through the chiller tubes plus through the cooling coils plus thru the longest total circulation piping run. Add to this the pressure drop through the most restrictive regulating valve in the system. This cannot be determined without knowledge of the piping sizes , the components and the respective flows. To take a guess, I would say you would be looking at a circulating pressure rise through the pump of around 30 psi. The static pressure from elevation , about 0.44 pounds per ft of height will be the same in both the supply and return risers and at both the suction and and discharge connections of the pump. So the height of the building need not be considered in the circulaton pressure losses. However the pressure rating of components will need to be suitable for that static pressure. Usually pump casings and pipe fittings are rated for cold water pressures adequate to the approximate static pressure of 90-100 psig on that ground floor or even in the basement of a 200 ft high building. where the pump is assumed to be located.
- Q: I was wondering if water pumps make any noise when they are submersed? Also, my pond is quite small and I don't want to scare my fish with a noisy pump. Thank you!
- majority of the pond pumps you get to day are extreamly quiet and wont bother the fish or you at all
- Q: My car broke down yesterday and is waiting to be towed to the mechanic (2000 Dodge Neon). I'm pretty sure the Timing Belt broke, but my water pump was broken in the process and leaked out lots of water. Would the timing belt break the water pump when it snapped? Or does the broken water pump lead us to a different conclusion? Any thoughts or ideas would be appreciated. Also I was reading online today about interference engines, but couldn't find a list to verify if I have one of those or not. Anyone know? Thanks!
- Timing belt replacement is a very tedious and expensive repair. It is better that when the mechanic changes your timing belt, he changes all the oil seals, timing and balance shaft belts, and the water pump. It is better to this all at once because if you only replace the timing belt, you may also have to replace the water pump in the near future, which is the same amount of labor time for the timing belt. This way all these part will have the same lifespan. If you timing belt broke, hope that your engine is not damaged.

- Q: is there a water pump capable to pump up to 1/4 of an inchsand from 90' deep well?
- If the sand is suspended in the water then yes there are pumps that will pump it. Other wise no.
- Q: I have septic tanks. My toilet flushing water is filthy and the water pump runs for a long time and sounds strange. I have turned the pump off for now but know this is not an answer but i was worried it would burn out or something. Do i need a part for the pressure pump? Please help any plumbers out there.
- Most toilets do not have pumps, Yours probably has a fluid master acting like a float , so water can only get so high in the tank, and a flapper - a rubber piece with a chain connecting to a handle rod. Remove the tank lid, see if the flapper goes up and down with the handle( the piece you push), this rubber piece should cover the hole completely to stop the water from going down any more. If it does not go down all the way, then it is the problem. Hope this helps.
- Q: I must change the timing belt of my car. I have been told that the water pump must be done too since it is right there. Due to the high price I want to postpone/skip the water pump until the next tune up. What happens if the water pump fails down the road? How long does a water pump last? 120K? My car has 60,000 miles on it. Thank you.
- You don't have to renew the water pump. They mention it because it becomes easily accessible during the timing belt replacement. The extra cost should only be the cost of the water pump. So it's often sensible to include the water pump at the same time. If you do it at the next service it will cost you at least the same as you are paying now for the belt job.
