Q: The water pump needs to be able to pull up water roughly 8+ feet. Ideally the system should include a filter to eliminate the presence of jellyfish. I need the most cost efficient solar panels with wattage provided. The battery used would be something similar to a deep cycle marine battery. Additionally I must figure out the amphours. Does anyone know where I can look up previously constructed systems or my best method of approach. Whom should I seek help from? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. The price range we're looking at is around $1000.
Dude okorder / You can visit them there, its got more info, i recommend call them and talk to a specialist. Good luck with the sweet aquarium!
Q: I recently changed the lower unit, and am having no water out the top 2 ports just below the powerhead, also the engine is getting heated up. any other pumps other than in the lower unit?any advice is appreciated.
you installed a new lower? If you haven't replaced the water pump impeller, do so now. If you did, maybe you forgot the woodruff key, or the pump housing gasket, or the water tube guide grommet. or maybe the water tube guide slipped out of place on reassembly.
Q: Ok, here's my problem. My parents bought this house a few years ago. No problems at first, but then during Hurricane Katrina, the basement started to flood from the heavy rains. Now whenever it rains, it floods. We have a half bath down there and the water would drain out in the shower drain. Now no water drains out, and we've already check the drain for clogs. It's clear. We currently have to bucket the water out.I'm looking for a good water pump to get them before I move out. I'm not sure if it has a sump pit or anything. We don't particularly care if we have to pump it out through a window or anything, as we have a pasture next to us. I just need something that could pump out the water when it rains. Preferably something not too expensive but that will still get the job done.Note: This is in Louisiana; lord knows what compelled the people who built this house to build a basement.Any suggestions/advice are much appreciated.
The fact that the water comes only from the drain, (if I understood correctly) and it only began to happen after Katrina caught my attention. You state that the basement was dry before am I correct? And that there is no leaks on the walls and floor. Just the drain. So here's what I think might be happening and I suggest you look into. 1- Your waste water/sewage line might be linked to the city's rainwater drainage system. They used to do that a while ago and if your house is old enough that might be the case. New building codes now strictly forbid it because in case of heavy rain, the rainwater system overflow and cause basements to flood with wastewater, which is a health hazard. If that is the case you will want to disconnect that drain from the discharge line and install a sewage pump to deal specifically with wastewater. 2- The waste water discharge line is clogged or collapsed at some point during when Katrina hit. Again you will want to install a sewage pump. It is not a good idea to rely on gravity drains to get rid of water in below grade structures anyway. That said, considering that you live in a problem region, I'd suggest you also install a good sump pump system, with battery operated backup pump like the SuperSump, separated from the sewage pump, to deal with ground water and heavy rains. In Louisiana I would even consider a TripleSafe system which has 2 powerful backup sump pumps, one of which is battery operated, an automatic switch system and an alarm to let you know when the backup pumps are on the job.
Q: I am going to replace the timing belt , tesioner and idler bearing on my 2000 daewoo leganza. I noticed some of the kits have water pumps too. It is likely to break like the timing belt?
if your going that far to replace the timing belt, sure why not?
Q: No water will come out of any faucet in the whole house and I do not know what to do, if I need a whole new pump/tank or what could be causing this please help
There are several possibilities as to why you have no water pressure. The pump could have lost it's prime, there could be a crack or loose connection between the well pipe and the pump, resulting in pumping air instead of water, the jet in the pump could have been plugged by a flake of rust broken off the inside of the pump housing, or, if you have a fairly old system, like mine, your air volume control, (a little round silver object screwed into the side of the resevoir tank), could be bad. Did this just happen all of a sudden, are you trying to open up a cottage for the summer that's been shut down all winter, was it pumping recently??? More info would be helpful.
Q: I would like to ask, the pump power and flow, there is no formula can be converted? For example, the flow of 9000 tons / hour, then how many units to accompany, how many kilowatts of water pump?
Pump shaft power (kw) = water supply (L / s) x lift (m) /102 * efficiency = flow * lift * density * acceleration of gravity.Explanation:102 is the unit collation constant.Pump effective power / pump shaft power = pump efficiency (general 50%--90%, large pump higher)Unit time pump liquid volume flow is, flow by Q, a unit of measure: m3 / h (m3/h), L / S (l/s), L/s=3.6 m3/h=0.06 m3/min=60L/minG=Q G refers to weight - liquid proportionThe energy obtained by pumping a liquid of a unit weight is called a lift. The pump head, including suction stroke, is approximately the difference between the pump outlet and inlet pressure. The lift is expressed in H, and the unit is m.The efficiency of a pump is the ratio of the effective power to the axial power of the pump. ETA =Pe/P pump power usually refers to the input power, the motive power to the pump shaft, it is also called the shaft power, denoted by P. Effective power is the product of pump head and mass flow and gravity acceleration
Q: Why can't sprinkler system and hydrant system share water pump in fire fighting system?
Why not share mainly because the two impurities contained in the water system: fire hydrant system requirements of different impurities in the water spray system requirements loose, but more stringent requirements, therefore, the former can be welded steel pipe, the latter must use galvanized pipe, the purpose is to prevent rust plug flow indicator or end of the spray head.
Q: When the pump is running with frequency conversion, the instantaneous power is greater than the power frequency operation, and the actual flow and lift are less than the power frequency. When running, the efficiency is very low. Why?
Pump power frequency operation, speed is rated. Frequency conversion actually adjusts the speed of the pump (the speed becomes smaller), and the flow of the pump moves parallel and downward. As for efficiency, it depends on the operating conditions of the pump. Does it deviate or run to the minimum efficiency position of the flow curve of the pump?.
Q: What is the reason that the water supply of pump is getting smaller?
1, the water pump screen plug, should remove the filter screen sundries.2, the use of lift is too high. Over the pump range, the pump should be adjusted to use height or replace the pump head.3, pump impeller plug or wear, should remove the impeller sundry. Replace the impeller if worn.4, pump outlet pipe blocked by debris, should remove the debris in the pipe outlet.5, diameter and pump does not match, replace the outlet pipe.6, the pump cover gap is too large, increased pump volume loss, should adjust the gap.7, pump body and pump cover leakage, should tighten the pump cover screw, make the pump body and pump cover close coordination.8, the pump speed is low, the use of voltage is too low. Should adjust the voltage to the rated value, replace the thicker cable or avoid peak use.9, water pump diving depth is too shallow, there is air intake, should adjust the diving depth. Pump running depth is not less than 0.5 meters.Yi Mai water pump to help you answer, I hope to help you
Q: I would like to know that a water pump or water motor which is of 1 hp what is the height from which it can pull water ? And also if there is a bubbling sound of air and no water is being supplied what does it mean ?
You say that your pump used to operate properly before, so if the pump is in good condition, the lift mustn't be too great so we can rule that out. It appears to me that the gurgling sound would be made by sucking air, and for this to happen, it would be a problem on the inlet side of the pump. If the person who repaired the pump knows what he is doing, it shouldn't be the pump, so we can rule that out. That leaves the pipe and any fittings between the pump and the foot valve that should be on the end of the pipe. Try running the pump, and pouring water over all joints and fittings, one at a time, if the pump is working properly, a slurping sound will be heard at the leak. The pump will have a priming point, a screw in plug, somewhere on top of it. With the pump stopped, remove the plug, and pour water into the hole. You should be able to fill the pump right up, and the water remain at that level, without draining away. If it wont retain the water, the valve on the bottom of the pipe is either worn out or has something like a stone or gravel preventing it from operating properly. As you have disconnected this pump for repairs, it would have needed priming anyway, which is the filling up with water. It's too much to ask a dry pump to lift water any height, so maybe you don't have a problem at all. Good luck
