Q: I need a means of driving a 3 horsepower induction motor re-purposed as an induction generator which would coincide with specific cost-effective parameters. I ran the numbers in an excel spreadsheet and realized that the amount of gasoline or diesel required to run an engine appropriate for a 3 horsepower generator consumes more fuel per hour than is economical when the electricity is sold back on the grid. Anyone have any ideas? Thanks: Synchronizing an induction generator to the grid is a major problem. Forget it.

Q: And this person said it also all depends on what PLANT the stuff came from. No wonder the asian kids are ahead of us.: if it is a diesel powered gen set it could run on bio fuel as long as it has been processed correctly a diesel gen can run on several different types of fuel

Q: for houses operating on diesel generators and inverters: the one with the lowest wattage rating, either domestic or foreign. just make sure it is made to work with the output of your generator ie; voltage and cycles

Q: i need a generator that can be continually run for years it needs to be able to easlly provide enough power for five one person cabinsi am going to use this to power a camp so it needs to withstand the outdoor elements i am looking for a brand name and an approximate costthank you to all who answer: what you need to do is run that generator with a quality diesel engine and you need to get some commercial companies to advise you the power, amps, and you will need to have some time off the line so your refrigeration will need to be of good quality to stay cold for 5/6 hours while people sleep --- or else you need to have an excellent muffler system for that power plant you probably need to figure how to have some farming so you get the farm discount on the fuel .

Q: about diesel generator: the air cooled one is a duitz air diesel . they are very reliable about the only maintenance it will ever need is filters and the cooling fins cleaned from time to time. it is lighter than a water cooled version and freezing will not hurt it.

Q: i know i asked this question before and received two answers but i should have given more details i need a inclosed storing device that would give easy acess to genator and would protect it from the elements thank you: I would like to help--but I need to know what size of generator you want 2.8 k-12 k ; and what type of fuel Gasoline, propane, diesel. I would ask why don't you mount a Onan Micro quite or light into the side or front of your fifth wheel---but with out seeing your trailer I have no idea what to recommend

Q: I am looking into using solar energy and generators for commercial use. Using the solar energy during the day is a piece of cake obviously. But I would need a backup generator for night-time use. If I were to get a commercial grade backup generator, could I essentially recharge it during the day while it is not in use? Any other suggestions that this route are welcome. Maybe even a backup storage (battery) for the the excess solar energy. Something to store the unused energy?: Generator is a vague word. Assuming you are using it to mean motor-generator sets which have a gas or diesel engine driving an alternator. No, you can't charge a motor generator set, it runs on gasoline or diesel fuel, you can't convert sunlight or electricity to fuel. But, you can use excess power during the day to charge batteries that can be later used to supply power. Note that battery storage can be expensive, and needs a lot of space and maintenance. .

Q: here in the town i live in we recently had an avalanche take out power transmission lines from our hydro dam in the time it takes them to repair those 90% of our power is coming from diesel generators(you should have cringed there) causing the price per kWh to go up 500% for what might be the next 3 months.currently i make enough that i can live with a bill 5 times higher than im used to, but a couple of years ago that would have got me kicked out of my apartment because there was no way in hell i could find an extra 300 bucks a month with a week or two notice.its been a big deal here, but we are notorious complainers, so im wondering if that situation would cause you to write letters to editors and complain to everyone who will listen all day long?: yes it went up by 76.865 %
