Batteries are bulky, costly, and you lose ~20% of your power just going in and out of the battery (the inverter will cost you another ~10%). But if you're willing to buy enough batteries you can store as much electricity as you want.

My father had a travel trailer and welded a small generator to the metal frame of the trailer. He did a lot of things he shouldn't do. It was so loud inside the trailer it was impossible to stay inside it. Also, the vibrations throughout the trailer were like an earthquake. So, if you're thinking of welding or bolting it onto your trailer, I'd be sure that it's not going to vibrate you to death.

- The engine can run indefinitely without needing to stop for a rest provided it is properly maintained and cooled. You should change the oil and filters after every 200 hours operating time. Properly maintained you should expect at least 25-30 years operating time from the engine. Neglected and it could need replacing in less than 10. Not sure what 161 gsm/hp-hr means. Unlikely to be grams, but gallons per horsepower hour would be extremely high. Need to look further into it

- A cellphone can also be charged with a little hand sized charger using a couple of AA Batteries. There are wind-up radios available. If you need light, Tino-sby has the right answer. Note: Diesel is best because the fuel is much less inflammable, and does not decay when stored for long periods. (Note that you can get fuel preservative additive in any good cay accessory shop if you go for gasoline fuel.)

- Power would be measured in watts (volts x amps) and for a diesel-electric loco it is going to be several thousand. A surge on starting to take up the train, then settle to optimum level as the train gets under way. Can't give you an exact figure as it varies according to different loco classes, load requirements, etc.
