Q: How to convert kVA (kilo-volt Ampere) to kg/h (kilogram per hour) for diesel generator set (genset)? I want to know the relation about the energy produced (kVA) to the fuel that used (kg/h) in the genset, either it used more diesel fuel or not. i.e the kVA amount produced is 106kVA and the rpm is 1500rpm: There is no way to make a direct conversion, but an estimate can be attempted, in lieu of an actual measurement. For the size of generator and speed you are using, a reasonable fuel rate of about 9.1 gal/hr is probably representative for full load. In that case, assuming 3.19 kg/gallon, you will have 29 kg/hr for your engine. So, for full load, you might use a factor of 3.65 kVA per 1kg/hr. As the load decreases, your conversion factor will reduce somewhat.

Q: engine is on a generator with about 800 hrs. changed fuel and fuel is getting to cylinder, pulled valve cover and valves are moving like they should, sprayed either in air intake and still no pop. any ideas other than to scrap the engine: What brand of Diesel engine is it? If you have the technical knowledge to work on gasoline engines then the same principles applies to diesel engines as well. I know this is true because I took the course for auto/diesel automotive technician certification. I rebuilt them both along with carburetors, transmissions, starters, alternators, and generators. The only difference I can recall are that the diesel engines required more or less air than the gasoline engines. Of course diesel fuels burns much slower than gasoline. Therefore diesel engines might have additional mechanisms to produce or reduce the quantity of air. That is all.

Where does the energy come from?: Sometimes pumps are used to maintain water pressure, sometimes water towers which still needs pumps. Q: I recently had solar Pannels installed. The panels generate enough electricity to power my house during the day. I use a 20kw silent diesel generator to power my house at night. I really hate my power provider PGE. If i tell them to shut off my power, Will they remove that tacky smart meter from my property?: I think as long as the lines are cut, there should be no problem. That's because diesel and gasoline have different properties: Diesel isn't easy to ignite with a spark, but gasoline is, cause diesel has a higher flashpoint. So because diesel engines have to have higher compression, they have longer strokes, so more torque. This helps increase how much weight the engine can pull, which is why all tractor trailors, ships, or anything heavy duty has a diesel engine. Only ships that don't have diesel engines have electric motors because they have a lot ot torque as well, but even those ships have diesel generators. Diesel engines are used in VW's because they use a lot less fuel. Also they last longer because diesel helps lubricate the engine. So in regular cars, they help acceleration (more torque), fuel economy, and engine life. In heavy duty vehicles, they also help fuel economy (but still use a lot), towing capacity, and engine life.

Q: I am looking to run a 1200watt electrical generator using Hydrogen gas versus using Gasoline, Propane or Diesel. If anyone knows even where I can start looking towards steps or plans for something like this?: It is absolutely possible. I've been thinking the same thing for a while now. The first step I think is to build an hydrogen/oxygen generator system then incorporate it into an existing portable electric generator that runs on gas. The next step should be to make adjustments to the gas/HHO mix and make it run. Lastly, do the tweaking until the motor runs exclusively on HHO. Sounds simple? Of course not.
