Q: in gym i am able to do a flat bench press of up to 40-45kg.....20-25kg feels like nothing.....but i am not able to do push ups ...maximum i have done in my life is 20 pushups on some lucky day...if i am doing 5 pushups rather 2 push up they does not feel effortless ....my first push up will feel like i am doing 100th....why is it so.....?i read some where that it is because of unbalanced training ...but on Wikipedia i found that both exercise target almost same muscle group...can some one clarify???: 20 pushups are actually great,if you do them correctly and without cheating! Usually those who cant do alot of pushups usually have neglected their shoulders or triceps,so while their chest can handle it,the other smaller muscles cant!Plus pushups require a trained core (lower back and abs) so you can add the plank to your exercises to strengthen your core. Tricep dips (4 sets of 12) are also great to make your arm a lot stronger!

Q: Explain the garlic press to me. Are you just supposed to squeeze juice from it, or does the press mince it up? And do you get the same results if you just finely chop a clove of garlic with a knife? My friend says a garlic press is a must-have for the kitchen but I've never owned one.: For Homemade the herbs that you use will be different, while french use thyme and sweeter herbs, the italians use parsley, oregano, basil, etc. for the bottled stuff the french dressing is made iwth tomatoes and sugar and the italian is the vinegarette with herbs, etc.

Q: Can I use ground espresso in a French press coffee maker?Would this be too strong? Would it make a mess?: you can use it by all means... the main problem will be that the coffee will seem a bit muddy... espresso is ground very fine... so the filter on the Coffee pot will mean the Coffee is a bit muddy!

Q: What is the difference between bench pressing with a bar and benching with a machine? I use a machine and bench 180lb, but my friends tell me it's easier on a machine than it is a bar. I've done both at 160lb before and I don't notice a difference.: When bench pressing with free weights, secondary muscles are involved in balancing the weight, where as with a machine, these secondary muscles are not involved. using a machine is fine, but in order to build greater density and strength, free weights can be a little bit better. Remember when benching with free weights, ALWAYS have a spotter!

Q: Hi everyone!At my school weight room we only have a mechanical? Bench press. Like one which is a bar attached to a pulley that lifts up weights. So basically a bar you push up with adjustable weight and no free movement. Anyone tell me what it's called? Before anyone goes into saying It's far better to use an actual bar I'm just trying to make do with what I got. So basically On this thing I can push 100lbs once (13 years old) so I wanted to know what the best weight and how many reps/sets of what weight I should do for best results. Q: im making the casing for my skirt and the sewing instructions say to press under 5/8 on unnotched edge and then trim to 1/4. so if i mark 5/8 am i supposed to fold up to that line and press or use the line as my fold if you know what im saying. Q: Hey, I have recently purchased a free weight bench press. But I can't always have a spotter and I have seen some bench presses that have safety rails to the bar cant fall on you.Is there anywhere I can purchase some safety rails? Are they only for a specific bench?: There are safety rails but they can be pricey that can be used for any bench. I have included some website on bench press safety. I would suggest if you can't afford a safety rail then do use a spotter if you are using a straight bar. If you don't have a spotter try doing incline presses or flies with two free weights or different kinds of push-ups. Push-ups are a great way to built the chest. We just recently lost a high school football player to a bench press accident. He was working out alone and his mother came home and found him dead so please be safe while working out.
