Q: i'm training for a profootball combine i want to get my 225 bench press stronger
OK. Here's the deal. Whoever said you should probably concentrate on more than just the bench press is absolutely 100% correct. The bench press is important, but if you want to be as effective as possible in whatever sport (I assume football is the case here) you need to get stronger everywhere. That said, the comments already made are very good ones. Generally speaking, to gain muscle mass (i.e. up your max) the best way to go is high weight and low reps. For endurance the opposite is true, low weight and high reps. Both are important. This is one reason why I advise to cycle your programs, say 6 weeks of endurance training and six weeks of mass training, then repeat. As far as concentrating on individual muscles, this is a good idea too. Biceps, triceps, deltoids, ect. But do not over look your rotators. Here is a great exercise for doing that free of charge. Grab a 5 lb weight in your right hand and lie on a bench on your left side. Rest the weight on your stomach, tucking your elbow such that it touches your right side (kidney area). Keeping your elbow touching your side, rotate the weight away from your stomach until it is pointing almost straight up in the air, and then back down to your stomach. Then do the same for your left arm. Trust me, it might feel a little weird at first but this will help. I would do about 3 or 4 sets of 10-15 reps. But always do a low weight. The rotator is easy to injure, so don't over do it.
Q: It is possible to press mineral makeup? I wanted to know if i can press my everyday minerals blush if so how? Thanks =]
YES okorder . and go to their makeup pressing section, they have an AWESOME video... Very Esau for first timers. Have fun! I hope this helped.
Q: Whenever I do flat bench presses or incline bench presses, my arms are what get sore. Isn't my chest supposed to feel the burn? Am I doing something wrong?
Try a wider grip. The closer together your hands are the more you work your triceps. If you're really concerned about your pecs not doing enough work do some flies to isolate your chest muscles. You can do them on the machine, with dumbbells or cable.
Q: which is better for putting on top of your (liquid) foundation.. loose powder or pressed powder?
I think Loose powder is great for use at home because it's messy and goes everywhere. Pressed Powder is great for travel and does a great job for touch ups.
Q: Are 1990 ford bronco 5.8 efi piston wrist pins cliped or pressed ? And can a [bent] connecting rod be removed from bottom with oil pan removed? drove truck though water on back woods dirt road and it sucked up the water like a thursty camel because of the position of air intake scoop. Will be putting on a snorkle when engine is repaired.
they are pressed into the piston. you have to remove the head to get it out. after all that work you might as well get another piston and wrist pin out of the junk yard but you will need a ring compressor to put it back in.
Q: I just recently heard of the leaf pressing hobby and it sounds fun and interesting but I do not know much, so I may sound very new and stupid but I'd love it if you helped!1. How long should I press the leaves for?2. How long would they last?3. Should I hang them up or find a nice sized journal with blank pages to put them in?4. IF I hung them up, what sort of paper would I use and how?5. IF I used a nice journal, how would I attach the leaves? I think I saw someone who threaded them on, would that be an okay way to do so?I think that that's about all I have to ask, but if you have any tips and tricks let me know!Thank you!
You can press them in any heavy book that you don't mind the risk of staining. If you don't have a book like that, you can sandwich each leaf between two sheets of waxed paper.
Q: I am having the hardest time getting my cookies right when using my press. I've got a really tasty recipe that works well in the press if I click the lever TWICE rather than just once. Clicking it twice creates a cookie that is way too big and not as crispy as I would like. Does anyone have tips for me to get my cookie to stick to the pan with just one click on the press? It was driving me crazy today! Thanks for any advice, I've been baking for a while but I'm brand new with the cookie press.
I am a Pampered Chef consultant. A lot of the cookie press success is trial and error, but I have found that the temperature of the dough and the consistency of the dough make a lot of difference. If you think the dough is too thick, let it get a little warm or use less flour. Do the opposite if it's not thick enough. I have a flyer of helpful hints that I give to anyone that orders a cookie press from me. If you would like to have that, I can e-mail it to you. You can e-mail me through my profile and I'll send it to you. As for the two clicks - have you tried doing one and a half clicks? I do that a lot with mine. Click it once, then squeeze the trigger again, but not enough to make it click. I hope that helps!
Q: I wanna know from the people who know about lifting what reverse grip targets more off. People have told me triceps but I know that is if you have a close grip of about 12 inches. But what about wide grip reverse bench press. Does it target more triceps or chest? Also what are the pros and cons between the two grips? Thank u so much for ur time.
Here is a list of each muscle group and the best movements to do for each. Ensure that these are included in your program - and that you are lifting within the 5-8 rep range with max effort and you will be sure to start seeing good muscle growth. Note though that you are to only choose one or two exercises for each muscle group as doing more than that will be too much volume for most people and overtraining could set in. Quads -squats, lunges, split-squat, deadlift (with knees bent) Hamstrings -romainian deadlift, one legged deadlift, deadlift with feet placed upon a 2-3 block (toes should be on the block with the heel still on the floor) Chest -regular bench press, closed grip bench press, include bench press, decline bench press Back -bent over row, horizontal row, close grip row, reverse grip row, pull-ups, lat pull-down Shoulders -military press, dumbbell shoulder press, behind the neck barbell press Abs -hanging leg raise, plank while balancing arms or feet on a medicine ball, leg raises (ensure the back is kept flat on the floor at all times)
Q: I just started bench pressing twice a week. I want to build muscle on my chest. I also do flat bench though so I'm not desperate to see results quickly. This is my second week of bench pressing twicedumbbell flies. I love doing them because I can feel the workout a lot on my chest. I just recently started a week. When will I start seeing results though?? I don't drink protein shakes because i hear they just make you fat. Is it true?I would like to hear suggestions???
I see what you are going through because I am going through the same thing. I do dumbell chest flies and dumbell chest presses, lateral raises, each consisting of right now 3 circuits of 20 reps of each exercise(3 times a week) and for me i did not start seeing results not until after 3 weeks . answering your question you should be seeing results at around 3-6 weeks. because it depends on many factors e.g what you are eating? how many times you do your exercise a week? and your body type. I would also suggest you doing 20-30 reps of lateral raises into your work out. going to your second question.as far as protein drinks i have the same fear as you have. that is why i don't drink it right now.(eventually I am going to give it a try) but I hear it doesn't make you fat. I helps you repair give nutrients your muscle tissue during your off workout hours. I hope that this information helps you. and remeber don't expect your body to look the way you want it to be over night. it takes a long time to get it there.
