- Q: what water pump is on a 1978 mercruiser 170hp 224cc 3.7 liter
- Got no partnumbers but.. the 3.7 is a Ford engine and dont know from your question if you mean the circulation pump on the front of the engine or the raw water pump in the outdrive. This engine has a closed cooling system and uses coolant to cool the engine pumped around by the circ. pump on the engines front. The water to cool the heat exchanger (and so the coolant) is pumped up by the outdrive pump. Mostly when the engine runs hot the outdrive impeller is worn out and need to be changed or the raw water system can be cloged up by debris.
- Q: We have a 2001 mazda tribute that has been leaking coolant and overheating. we thought it was just the radiator, so we replaced it, but it is still doing it. It leaks pretty rapidly, and overheats pretty fast too (in 1 to 2 miles of city traffic) Does this sound more like a hose or the water pump? how difficult will it be to replace the water pump?
- With the engine running at idle take a look at your coolant resevoir and follow the lines. If it is a hose leak you should be able to see it no problem. When is the last time the radiator was flushed? You could have a blockage in there somewhere too. Depending on how handy you are will determine how difficult the water pump is to replace if that is the problem. Some help can be found online by looking for a Mazda forum. Good luck
- Q: We bought a second hand Rover 75, three months later head gasket blew. This was replaced but blew again due to original wet liners. A reconditioned engine was then put in but head gasket blew again due to original water pump. I am not trying to ascertain blame i would just like to know which is accurate as car seller is saying fault of mechanic as should have changed wet liners and water pump and mechanic is saying it is not common practice to change this parts when you replace a head gasket or engine. Thanks for any clarification, especially if you are a mechanic yourself.
- Well the answer is..... I am going to take a guess that this is a Rover K series engine. They blow the head gasket just for something to do. Terrible problem when the engine was a 1.4 and it only got worse as they bored the engines out. The original fault will be poor maintenance and a failure to ensure it always has loads of anti freeze or corrosion inhibitor in there. That makes the liner to block interface corrode. The second is more controversial, if I knew the water pump was fairly new then I would probably not fit a new one with an exchange engine. If however the water pump was old or an unknown quantity then I would almost certainly change it, and the clutch too, if I had the engine out as it's such a fiddly job to do. BUT who was paying for the work? If it was you then this would have added a fair bit to the bill (if you didn't tell him to change it then really you can't complain that he didn't do it) and it it was warranty work then the terms of the warranty might set out what was supposed to be done. - Q: We are leasing land from a friend to put horses on. We're in the process of building a barn. We don't want to run water out there because its too much trouble for the meter and everything, but someone said to get a water pump and pump the water from the pond and filter it and use it. I have no idea what all we need or what kind of pump to get. Helpp!
- There are many choices and lots of problems. You probably can use a small system with garden hose even depending on how much water you need. There are a lot of variables to define. How much water ie gallons per day? How far do you have to pump it? Is it uphill or downhill? What quality is the pond water? Filtering is a little harder but you should find in line systems or something on the web once you determine the flow rate etc. That may determine the rate you can pump at ie the filter capacity. Do you have electric? If not you need a gas setup pump or generator. What kind of storage tank are you going to pump water into? Sounds like your filter will be the big thing. If you pump 100 gal thats about two bathtubs full. If you pump that in 100 minutes that is 1 gallon per minute. Thats small. So if you can find a filter to do say 1 to 10 gpm and that type pump you can do two bathtubs or more in two hours or so. If you go to 10 gpm thats about the max for a garden hose. Thats more what you would want to spray from the system. Your filter is the key. How clean is the water? Then you need a pump for the flow rate and pressure that can go through the filter. City meter sounds easier now doesnt it?
- Q: The at is a 2003 Toyota celica. And how much would it cost to get the water pump and timing belt replaced?
- It’s useless to try and get an estimate for the cost of parts and labor for repairs via Yahoo Answers. In a lot of cases we have no idea of what country you’re in, let alone city, state, province or township. Even knowing where you live is of little use as prices for parts and labor can vary wildly within the same area. If you understand the problem and just need parts you can Google for the best prices for parts. Your best solution for getting an estimate of repair costs is by contacting an independent auto repair shop in your area. Don’t go with any of the franchise or chain type auto repair places as they frequently use poorly trained help and many have no mechanical training at all, and dealers have to charge more to cover their high overhead. It’s really best (when possible) to get a personal referral from someone you trust to a local independent shop.
- Q: i dont think that the water pump is out. i have a 88 evinrude outboard and the other day i noticed that the water was barley trickling out the hose. then it just stopped coming out the hose. it still comes out of the exhaust just fine. the motor is not get hot. is it ok if it still comes out the exhaust/ i will attemp to run a wire up in the hose to see if it is clogged later today. what do yous think
- im guessing the impeller (in a rely of a pair days off) went undesirable, which isn't likely, no longer extremely all that no longer likely. how previous grow to be it? are you interior the habit of cranking the motor without water connected? the two holes are exhaust alleviation ports -- their function is to alleviate rigidity to facilitate commencing, which might fairly be made confusing by using backpressure on the underwater exhaust. lots of the water comes out down via the decrease unit, despite if it is common to be certain water popping out those ports.
- Q: PROline Dishwasher has Broken down, after a detailed Examination of the appliance we have managed to conclude it is the Water Pump, I'm looking to find a new one to repair it myself but would like to know if any make one would fit, as Finding a PROline Water Pump has proven Great Difficulty, Any Knowledge of the matter would be greatly appreciated, Thank you
- Unless you are sure that the problem is the water pump, you might want to check the hose to make sure it isn't clogged up and not allowing the water to drain out correctly. If you do need to change the pump, you will most likely have to replace it with the same pump. If you haven't done so, try going on line and enter your dishwasher make, model, and enter water pump and see what you can come up with. If your washer is an older model, it is possible it is no longer being made and it might be difficult to find parts for it. You might also try calling around in your local area to some appliance stores and ask them about finding the part or where you might find the part. You could also contact a repair service and just ask them if they can find the part for you if you are going to fix it yourself. If the pumps are still being made, any appliance repair service should be able to get you the part. If you can find a store that sells that brand of washer, they to should be able to get the pump for you to.
- Q: School project. My group cannot find this answer.
- Either from the HP needed to run or the output in GPM.
- Q: 37KW how many contactors does the pump need to start directly?
- First of all, you have to see what voltage you use If 380V then current per KW is about 2A, if it is 660V per KW at about 1.1A, then it is the starting current is 3 to 7 times for the starting current, but for the moment, 380V voltage: 37*2=74A 100A on the line, 660V voltage: 37*1.1=40.7A 63A on the line.
- Q: I have a small leak in my water pump and my check engine light is on throwing a P0303 code and it appears the two might be related.
- As far as I know Bars stop leak will not work on a moving part like the seal on a water pump. This is an opportunity to have fresh anti freeze in your car. Get the water pump replaced and have the system drained and filled with fresh. Use a pre-mix or dilute regular antifreeze with distilled water. Many places have hard water which clogs radiators and heater cores. Take care that the system is bled of any air when refilled.. Anti freeze contains water pump lubricant for the seal. If it had been changed last year you may not have this expense now.
