- Places like Home Depot and Lowes usually have a fixed rate to install wall to wall carpet in your home, so the same price for 1-10 rooms. I'd go with the wall to wall option especially if the linoleum is old and dirty. Plus, they should be able to carpet right over it. And you should be able to switch it up color wise room to room.

- I would always paint first, too hard to get paint from the carpet. If you have baseboard of any kind, that should come off. Paint down just below that area, lay the carpet, then put up the painted baseboard again.

- yes and this works. get a white damp cloth (rag or towel) then get an iron. put the damp cloth over the stain and iron over it. The stain will be lifted off the rug onto the cloth. Use a white cloth so you can see the stain as its removed. If it doesnt work dampen/wet the cloth so more and try again! You can either dampen the cloth or dampen the stain with water. I do this all the time on my carpets and it works! goodluck!
- Q: My parents bought a 5 x 7 area rug about 20 years ago, at K-Mart or somewhere abouts, and bequeathed it to me when I moved out. The colors are still really nice, but the problem is- and I suspect this has always been the case- its a bear to get clean. I don't mind a few spots, but it collects hair like mad. Its a very tight-woven rug, with no long strands. I run my Dirt Devil upright over it usually three or four times, and nothing budges. - You can use cleaners like fabuloso, pine sol, fantastic, **** and span, in small amounts. Use the floor dilution. You can also dilute laundry detergent and use that, but you might have to go back over it and rinse it. I'd recommend getting a carpet cleaner. I really like hoover's pet odor formula, even if you don't have pets, it really makes the carpets clean, smell great and repel stains.
- Q: I only need about a foot or two of carpet. 1x1 or 2x2 can i do this at home depot or something?
- depending on what its for, why not check out your local suppliers, as they have remnants,left over carpet,end of rolls,or you could just buy carpet squares,like they have in office blocks
