Q: My dog got ahold of one of my moms plants. I told her it was stupid to buy them while the dog was in the house. Anyways, the dog got ahold of the plant and drug it across the carpet, I tried vacuuming the carpet, but it just stained. How do I clean the carpet?!: Depending on what kind of carpet it is (wool, polypropolene etc.) I would take a stiff brush and try to get the dirt out of the carpet. first and then vacuum again. I have a lightweight carpet cleaner. After using a still brush I use the carpet cleaner/vacuum. I put white vinegar and warm water in the resevoir and use that to clean any remaining stains. So far that has worked for everything my cat has done to my rugs. It sometimes takes 2 rounds with the vinegar but that's all I use.
