- Q: Does anyone have any links to a SPECIFIC area rug that will go with a black sofa? I have an apt with medium brown wood pallette floors, and white walls. ANY help will be greatly appreciated. Thanks!!!

- Q: Me and some friends were wrestling around and I got a rug burn...its pretty red...anyone know the best way to heal it and about how long it'll take? (Dnt wanna walk around skool with it but meh) I was thinking of using Neosporin pain relief ointment (the clear kind) 2 times a day..any ideas? Thx in advance :D
- Rug burn is chafing , so neosporinr is perfect. Just wash with soapy water and let it dry first. It will clear up fast if it's just red. If its bleeding or oprn will take longer. Aloe, from a plant will work too.
- Q: I have a white berber carpet in my room, and it has these gross grayish areas that are probably from dirt and what not . Also, my nauseous doggy sleeps on my bed and I have his various, dried throw up stains in it too. I've tried orange Goo Gone on everything , and it didnt work . I would like something that's pretty cheap that I could buy at like a local Walmart/Target, deep cleaning , pet safe , works on berber carpet , and isent a ton of hastle. I mean I don't mind getting on my hands and knees working stuff in , but nothing too extreme. I just want my carpet clean!!I don't want to have to rent a carpet cleaner , so I'm curious . What store bought carpet cleaners have worked for you? And do you think those will work for my carpet ? Thank you so much! (:
- The old Oxy clean is what gave it a bad name. The stuff that is out now is fine for must carpets especially most berbers. 80% of Berber carpet on the market is made with Olefin fibers. These fibers cannot be destroyed with cleaning agents. Even bleach will not do anything to olefin. Beware though some berbers are an olefin nylon blend and I have seen a wool berber but those are rare. Assuming your berber fits into the 80% category you will need strong chemicals and degreasers to clean it. Olefin is a petroleum product and loves oil because it is a similar molecular structure. So you need something that can break that oily bond.
- Q: When I Turn My Horse Out, When Is It Apropriate To Rug My Horse? What Rug Should I Use For Different Seasons And All Tht??I Live In Northern Ireland So Winters Can Vary From 12 to -3 DegreesAnd Summer Around 25 to 10 degreesFANX
- hi i live in ireland aswell! in the summer i leave my horse without a rug day and night! in winter i use a heavey weight rug a masta brand its very good at night i bring him into his stable and put on a stable night rug which is not heavy also masta! if you want to in the summer u can use a fly sheet which are very light and do not make the horse too hot! good luck !! : )
- Q: or any carpet for that matter disintegrate around the edges near outer doorways? It hasn't been wet either. I mentioned cheap because my Land lady doesn't get the expensive anything. What could cause it?
- Sounds like a really old or really poor quality carpet. Even the cheaper carpets should last a long time if there is no traffic. I suppose it is possible to find a carpet material that is so bad that it will begin to rot away after only a few years, but normal landlords don't buy that kind. The want the kind that will last for a long time. I can't think of anything that could cause the problem you described other than extreme age or extremely bad quality. Mayan
- Q: Help! my floor is carpeted, and I had a flood, so now my whole carpet is wet and I don't think it's going to dry by itself.HOW DO I DRY IT?
- It won t dry by itself for a long time. A couple options use a wet / dry vac as suggested to get up excess..You ll have to pull back carpet( remove furniture) and you may very well have to replace the padding. Ive never seen a pad( other than rubber) survive a flood. You need to get to the sub floor and get that to dry or its possible a mold will form. Second suggestion is to get a flood restoration company that specializes in this . They have to equipment to suck up the water and dry carpet GL
- Q: What's the daily care of all rugs? x
- Rugs are normally synthetic so don't need the same daily care as leather tack. They are also not expected to last as long. If taken care of well leather tack can out last your horse, so it's well worth caring for them properly. You want to keep the rugs clean and dry for the health and comfort of your horse, but how this is done varies form owner to owner. In my case: My horse wears a sheet (or fleece cooler when it gets colder) next to her skin and I wash it regularly in the washing machine so she has a clean layer. Over the top she wears her turnout rug. When I groom her I first brush over the rug with a dandy (if it's dry) and spot clean if necessary. Then I remove it and put it over a fence or stable door and bang it against it. I can remove the sheet and shake it more forcibly (the turnout is too heavy for that). If the sheet or cooler is wet at all I hang them to dry and replace it with my spare (I have two of each). If the turnout is soaked through I'll replace it with a stable rug and pay a fee to use a heater to dry the turnout quickly (if I didn't the rug would probably still be wet that night when my horse is turned out out again). It's usually fine though and I use the turn out as a stable rug too, it fits better then the stable rug, and modern rugs can be breathable and waterproof. In spring both the turnout and stable rugs are either washed by hand or sent away for cleaning (my washing machine isn't big enough to take them) and the turnout is reproofed. It's also important to remove and replace the rugs at least once a day even if you don't ride. The horse must be groomed as sweat and grease can built up under the rug and the horse will also enjoy a good scratch with the brushes as they can't do that for themselves when they are rugged.
- Q: I have a dark green carpet, and somehow it got a lighter stain on it. Is there any way to die it back? It's just a normal type of carpet, nothing fancy.
- You can have it dyed. However, if it is an older carpet or extremely worn in some spots, the carpet may not be receptive to being re-colored.
- Q: What size rug should I get?
- 16 x 16
- Q: I own a cell phone store and my carpets are a mess. I'm trying to save money because stanley steemer wants around $200. I thought about renting the rug doctor for $20 from the local grocery store. Would it work well for commerical grade thin grey carpet that has some dirt, road salt, and grease in it from the several customers that walk on it every day?
- Yes they are industrial quality cleaners. It may take a long time. We run our Rug Doctor for over 5 hours cleaning our carpet when it is really bad. Use Clorox2 with your detergent. That helps with really bad spots. As long as you use the anti-foam you can use other detergents. Like dawn on your bad grease spots but don't use too much it suds up alot. We use laundrt detergent.
