Q: We are getting the carpet throughout the house redone. We had planned on a high quality laminate, but apparently our floors slope too much for that. Now we have to go with carpet. I fear a berber throughout will look too industrial, not homey enough. My husband feels like flush style looks like apartments he had in the 70s. The carpet salesman is recommending the same carpet in the whole 3 floor house. We have spill-prone kids, but no pets. any recommendations? we want it to look nice, but don't really know where to go from here.: My sister did berber throughout her house, accenting w/some area rugs also, .it held ok, not too high on luxury (not really fluffy) but it was harder for the kids to ruin it. I know that Scotch Guard is her best friend and she actually used to re-spray the carpet 1x/yr for extra support in higher traffic areas - I'm guessing its cheaper to go with the same carpet throughout but maybe they will let you change the hue of the color to break it up - or see if the one you like can take scotch guarding Hope this helps :)

I wanted to now re-arrange the furniture, but how long should i wait? its pretty dried, but i was still wondering?: I really would wait as long as you can, overnight if possible even if it feels mostly dry, it can take a good 12-24 hours to dry tracking around and dragging furniture can just get your clean carpet dirty again until the shampoo solution dries it can be tacky or sticky and really absorb dirt, then when its fully dry the dirt is sealed in

Q: My mom has had a Karastan rug for 30 years now and it's in gorgeous condition and it has never once shed. It's also wool. I need to purchase one, but I don't like the old fashion designs on the Karastan rugs...does anyone know what other brand rug is equal to a Karastan rug that doesn't shed? Q: I have a big rug in my bathroom (Not huge, its about 5' x 3').. it's thick and has a thick rubber back. I don't know how to describe what it's made of, but it's not the usual kind of rug you would find to go around the toilet (with a toilet seat cover to match), it's a more expensive rug and the threads kind of loop up and back in.. lol Does that make sense? Anyway, it's been in my bathroom for a while and I want to wash it but I don't want to ruin it. Help?: You could try washing it by hand in the tub with soap or put it in the gentle cycle of the washing machine, or take it to the cleaners.

Q: Our carpet is 8 years old (because we moved here 8 years ago), severely stained to such an extent that we're ashamed to look at it, has an interesting but unappealing smell, and is all over disgusting. I am not exaggerating when I say it is dreadful (and I mean exceptionally dreadful).How has it worked for you?: Use the productd from the rug doctor range. That way you will not get tons of soap foam and no real cleaning and products that are for other use may well cause damage to you carpet.

Q: ok my rug burn scar is peeling by itself and the skin under is white should i be worried....will that leave a scar??: As a rule of thumb, rug burns are too shallow to cause scarring. You will probably have some residual redness in the area after it finishes healing, but that is not a scar, and will go away in a few days when replaced by healthy skin tissue. Even if you do get a scar, it will just be flat and the color will fade in a few weeks and it won't be noticeable. It sounds like yours is almost healed, so there's not all that much you can do. Don't scratch it, don't peel away the skin. If it's very itchy you can moisturize.
