- Q: My rug has been shedding and I have vacuumed it 100's of times and steam cleaned it. Is there anything I can do to stop the shedding? It is positively driving me CRAZY!! Any suggestions PLEASE
- sounds like a bad buy have you tried taking it outside and combing it with a fine comb? Then follow up with a hoover. If this doesn't work......
- Q: Not huge but not small an appropriately sized den rug from an old furniture store like the dump.

- Q: We have been working out on the carpet in our basement for 6-7 months in the same spot. Now the carpet is rock hard from us working out on it. Is the carpet / padding ruined? Is there something we can do so the carpet doesn't' t get ruined?
- You more than likely have crushed the fibers on the carpet. Depending on the type of carpet you may or may not get them to fluff or come back up. The padding also depends on the quality.A decent pad will come back but I m willing to bet it won t and you ve crush that permanently. Only thing to prevent this in the future id to stop working out on the carpet and onto a hard surface. Puttin a hard mat over the carpet will still crush the fibers. There are tricks to try to get the fibers back. Any questions you can e mail me through my avatar. GL
- Q: Does anyone know where I can find a large area rug, mostly black with gold detail? I was looking at oriental rugs, but I'm not particularly fond of any of the ones I've found so far. If it was up to me it would be mostly black with some kind of golden chinese dragon in the corner, or just be asian themed. Any ideas!?! Please!
- Make one yourself.....easier than you think.
- Q: I have a tan/white colored carpet..its a normal carpet, the threads are about ? inches long. One time i used a carpet cleaner (and didnt read the directions) and sprayed the carpet and left it to soak there for a few minutes...now the carpet spot is yellow...Any way to fix the unfixable?other than getting a new carpet..
- I personally prefer Woolite SpotShot for those little carpet mishaps. But not sure if that would fix your problem. I have seen Martha Stewart use OxiClean to whiten and remove stains from antique table linens. When doing so, she allows the item to soak in the Oxiclean for as long as 24 hours. I don't think OxiClean would harm your carpet. And at this stage how much harm could it do? I would apply it liberally and reapply from time to time to keep it damp until the stain disappears, up to several hours or even a day. If no cleaner works, is covering the stain with a rug or piece of furniture an option? There might be some way to cut out the stained area and replace with a remnant of unstained carpet, if necessary taking the unstained piece from a closet floor or from under a large piece of furniture. But I don't know how you would secure the patch down. Maybe your carpet supplier could suggest a method or be willing to do it for you. Hope something in that helps you somehow.
- Q: How many types of persian rugs exist?
- Persian rugs are known as one of the oldest oriental rugs. Persian rugs value is timeless works of art that exude beauty, elegance and quality. Some of the types of persian rugs are Tabriz, Nazmiyal, Gelim and Shiraz.
- Q: Office wall is white, ceiling is also white, the door is brown. What color of the carpet is good ?
- Use black and white zebra stripes...
- Q: Is it true that you are better off buying a thinner carpet (not as dense or tall) with an 8 lb. carpet padding (the best) as opposed to a thicker carpet (dense and tall) with a cheaper 6 lb. padding? The price difference in the padding is dramatic...3.50/sq. yd. vs. 6.50/sq. yd.!
- well thinner carpets are easy to clean. and of coarse a thicker one, can hold more dirt. it all depends on you. in your sense of taste
- Q: How to choose carpet size?
- Internal pressure laying, suitable for the living room larger, optional 2*3 or larger sizeAccording to the actual situation, choose the right size.
- Q: I'm looking for instructions on how to make a rug with scrap squares of fabric tied into knots and what not. Thanks!
- Hmmm. Not a seamstress, nor do I care to be, but I have one that I enjoy, and has lasted for 3 years, but it was machine made, and as a Rag Rug, was stitched, not knotted. Actually a pretty decent project though, for using scrap fabric, much like a braided oval/round rug. Perhaps you might find in a fabric retailer, a Mesh type, stiff material/substance, similar to that used in small yarn craft kits, but in a larger size? Just my two sense
