Q: I have a cream couch with thin stripes color stripes are tan, beige Brown... Would this rug go good infront of it?! I plan to get a palm plant to put at the end of the couch- its a 2 piece sectional really nice!!!But im into more natural nuetral colors... for our living room!
There would be too much of cream/beige color. Your carpet should be brighter green or burgundy or use an almost white carpet.
Q: How to clean a silk carpet?
1, washing silk carpet, you must do shape preservation, sample preservation, color preservation and maintenance of light, so it can only be dry cleaned. And it can't be washed by dry cleaning. It can only be dry cleaned by hand.2, before washing, to vacuum the carpet on both sides of the cleaning dust really.
Q: ok my parents are saying that they want to have wood floor in both of the living room also in the hall ways and they also want rugs in the bedroomwhat do u think
I have wood floors all through the house. Solid oak. I have rugs all over the house, most washable, except one in the living room which I clean with woolite. I don't really think they are cold in winter, we have a basement, which is insulated. They can be dusted with a swiffer duster, or a regular dust mop. They do need cleaned, and that is hard work or is for me now, with a bad back. By the way, I bought a shark steam pocket mop, the first time I used it, I sat it down for just a second, to move a candle stand. It make a white mark on my wood floor in the living room. I have rubbed and rubbed on that, I can still see it, no one else would probably notice it now, but be careful with those steam mops on hardwood. They really get hot. Do not let them sit a second without moving them.
Q: What is the best quality area rug material. like are vinyl or wool rugs the best
I have always had hard wood floors, so I use area rugs and rug runners under foot. I have found that the best rugs are wool rugs. My all time favorite rugs are hand hooked rugs. They are very durable.
Q: is there anyway u can get nail polish out of a carpet, i spilt a whole bunch (reaaally dark).. and i tried using shout carpet but it didn't work.. is there anyway to get it out.. = thnx.. lt;3
Put a little nail polish remover if its stil wet....don rub it...jus dab it! Then let that dry! Then go buy...Barbasol shaving cream! Then spray it on the stain....and rubb it in with your finger tips. Then rub the area dry with a paper towel! Works like a charm!
Q: Was looking to buy a rug online from argos but didnt know whether it would be soft or not, prefer a soft rug here is the advert
Polypropylene is less soft to the touch then some other fibers like wool, nylon and polyester.
Q: We just bought a house and the master bedroom has wool carpet in it and I just wanted to know how to clean it!!
Wool carpet looks and feels awesome, but is tougher to maintain. I would not use a general carpet shampoo on it since they tend to be rough on non-synthetic fibers over time. For spot treating (spills, etc): Use a white cloth dampened with barely warm water and a few drops of clear dish washing liquid. White cloth and clear liquid just to make sure there's no color/chemical transfer. Blot it the way you'd get at any spill and then a dry cloth to get all that water up. For a deep clean: You'll be better off getting a professional in once a year or whenever the mess is too big to clean yourself.
Q: My landlord recently replaced my nasty old carpet, but this new one isn't that great either. It got flat almost immediately, granted we also have kids, and I want to fluff it back up but I haven't been very successful. I sweep it after I vacuum so I can get it soft and fluffy but it takes ALOT of work and doesn't last for more than a couple of hours. Anybody know how to help?
A good sweeper with a stiff roller brush will raise the nap of a carpet as it cleans it. But even this doesn't last very long. The carpet fibers get weakened by foot traffic and that becomes known as the traffic pattern across a carpet. Don't expect quality carpet from a landlord. ( Can you blame them? ) Best thing is not to worry about the carpet showing wear. Also the pad underneath the carpet has an effect on how the piece of carpet lays and wears. The more you attempt to make the carpet fluffy, the worse it will become.
Q: My fiance and I are moving into our brand new house this week. The home is brand new but has been sitting empty for nearly a year. My question is with the brand new carpeting, I know I should at least vacuum to remove the loose/excess fibers in the carpet, but I'm also debating renting a basic carpet cleaner from Home Depot. Would that be overkill or should it be done?
bran new carpet comes with a preventer on it, it shoul not be deep cleaned for at least 2 years of use, doing so will remove the stain preventer, if its a decent carpet, check with the builder or the carpet installer before doing anything, there might also be a warranty on it that could be voided if you do that.
Q: I my daughter and I have three cats. 1 male 2 females. One or more are using the area rugs as a bathroom. We have added another litter box. Washed all the rugs with oxy clean for cats. I have told my other daughter not to bring her german shepard over anymore. I am trying to play with them more. Can anyone help me.
A lot of the rubber backings on bathroom rugs smell like urine to the dogs and cats near them, and they use them to pee on because of that. Try cleaning the rugs with an enzyme cleaner (pet supply stores sell those, they take out all organics so no smell lingers). You may have to just keep the bathroom door closed at all times, to protect the rugs.
