 Natural Fiber Sisal Rug

Q: What good is a carpet?
Carpet insulation effect is good, in winter, warm effect is reflected, the first visual warmth, and then the texture.
Q: How big is a 8 x 12 rug?No rude answers please If your not going to help me thank you! :)
8 feet by 12 feet. 144 inches by 96inches
Q: I have just gotten a large area rug and Ihave put it on a bare floor. Do I need to put something under the rug. It is not slipping or anythhing.
nope-its good
Q: I have 3 cats and my 4 year old Maine coon named Harlee keeps peeing on my rug in my dining room. She has always used the litter box until recently. I always keep the litter box clean so I dont know why she is peeing on the rug now... how do i get her to stop and how do I get rid of that smell???
After Harlee started in the one spot, the smell will cause her to keep going in that spot. (I've tried home remedies, but this was much more effective and easy.) There are carpet cleaning formulas with enzymes available at either pet stores or Walmart (in the cleaning section). This is just poured into the rug and left wet to air dry. It will take care of the smell and the cat will not return to that spot. As for Harlee, she may have smelled something offensive to her little nose and had a fit, but she may also have a medical issue. I might be worth a vet visit to have her checked out.
Q: I have a antiuqe rug. My dog pissed on it and it made it bumpy. The tag on it is in chinese, It is made of silk. I need some help on cleaning it. Dry clean? or what. I can not put it in the washer because it is a high effenincy washer and it will ruin it when it gets wet.
Put several thickness of towel under the area. Try sponging the area your dog messed with a solution of warm water and white vinegar. That will neutralize any odor and sanitize the rug. When it is almost dry, leaving the towels under the rug, iron the affected area with a warm iron. This should allow you to smooth the bums out. Make sure the water isn't too hot and the iron not set more than medium heat.
Q: My sister-in-law gave us a lovely rug as a house warming gift 10 years ago. I prefered using the old wash and rinse method of cleaning it. It wasn't anything very expensive but it was, is, lovely.I lifted it to wash and store away for the summer but was saddened to see a thick layer of yellow dust like stuff exactly where the rug was laying. It seems the bottom layer of the rug has aged and is crumbling away into dust.Is there anything I can do to save it?
Is this a tufted carpet? It may be the glue disintegrating. Depending on the rug, usually there's not much you can do which would be cost effective. Sometimes you can re-latex the back, but this is quite a project... Tufted rugs are really meant to be disposable
Q: I just moved into a 1st floor/basement apartment. Its currently has tile floors wich are nice but are extremely cold to walk on in the winter. I was thinking about putting carpet down until I stumbled across carpet tiles in home depot. Since im renting I dont want to damage the current ceramic tile floor, should I lay down regular carpet or use carpet tiles? I don't care about grout lines and i dont want anything glued to the floor. It doesnt need to be the best job I will more then likely do it myself. If I lay regular carpet do I need padding? Or if I use carpet tiles, what kind of barrier should I have between the current floor and the carpet to proctect the ceramic tiles?
Rolled carpet would be a better choice. Carpet tile would be difficult to vacuum if it was not glued down. For the same reason you couldn't put carpet pad under carpet squares. Carpet pad will help with warmth and also help reduce the tile grout joints from showing through to the carpet surface. Carpet pad is not structural, but it should help at least for a while. Think about your door bottom clearance. Do you have enough space between the bottom of your doors to add carpet?
Q: I have a bad dried coffee stain on my white carpet....suggestions?10pts to best first answer!
I KNOW ITS NOT THE ANSWER YOU WANT BUT GET A PROFESSIONAL CARPET CLEANER.
Q: This might be a stupid question. But I'm about to buy carpet and I need to know how many sq. feet I need. I need to get a 16x20 piece of carpet and the prices go per sq. footage. so, How much sq.footage is 16x20? thanks.
You need 320 s/f butttttttt..... Carpet comes mainly in 12 and 15 foot wide so depending on how you room is laid out with its walking patterns etc is how its laid and seamed. Generaly a seam will be on the furthest wall away from all traffic. Again if your carpet comes 15 foot ( some do some only comes 12 foot wide) you ll you ll need extra carpet for a seam . You ll be scraping out some so you ll have to get more than 320 s/f GL
Q: You know how bathroom rugs frequently have rubber backing on them? I was to know if there is a way to reapply the rubber backing which has fallen off and cracked due to age. The top of the rug is fine.
Yes! you can get spray rubber coating from almost any auto parts store. just flip the rug over, spray it on, and let it dry.
