Take it to a laundromat and use the machines there. Cold water, regular laundry detergent. Then bring the rug home and hang it to air dry. If the rug has a stiff canvas backing, you will need to either rent a carpet cleaner or hire a professional to clean it. Good luck. -

Q:I recently dropped a small spot of bleach on cream colored carpet. Is there any way to dye the carpet back? It is a spot about the size of a quarter.: U can't restore color... but u have options. First u need to pull up as much of the bleach as u can. Bleach will eat up carpet not just remove color. Use a spot shampoo remover. Make sure spot is dry. Then go to the side corner of your closet, that u can't see and cut out a patch that is bigger than the one u want to remove. Cut out the organge spot. and glue back in the new carpet. U can secure with carpet nails. If ur unsure, go to carpet installer, they r usually great about teaching u how to fix most effective method. If u can put another rug over the spot then I do that. I wouldn't bother gluing in patch unless I was moving and u don't want to replace carpeting or be assess damages by landlord.

Q:Why would it be hard after cleaning the carpet: Do not rinse the detergent? you don't find a professional carpet cleaning company to clean it, do you?

Q:We had to take our area rug outside for a cleaning and now it is raining. The rug probably will remain wet for at least 36 hours. Are there steps we can take to prevent mildew from setting in?: Another tip: Allow your carpet to dry flat... dont roll it up or anything... maybe get a hook hanger and hang it by your dryer... so the heat can dry it a bit faster! :) thats all i got! good luck! :)

I know they have the $139 special for installation, but how much extra is old carpet removal, haul away and to move the furniture out and then back in the rooms?Thanks!: My okorder and found a local guy with great reviews and we showed him what we wanted with samples, and he ordered it and placed it down, for about 1/2 of what the major store chains charged. No extra charge for removal. He did a wonderful job, and cleaned up after themselves. They also moved the furniture for us. :-)

The cat box may not be to her liking (even if she previously used it without incident). Have you changed the type of litter? Have you added a top to the box that wasn't previously there? Is there something sitting next to the box that wasn't there before? Have you changed the location of the box? Not that she would forget where the box is, but that she doesn't like the type/amount of privacy available. Our cat was afraid of the new cat. The cats had decided among themselves that one would be upstairs and one would be downstairs. Well, the potty box was downstairs. The downstairs cat lorded it over the upstairs cat. The upstairs cat now has her own box (which everyone uses now) upstairs. No more capet issues.
