Q: I used a couple carpet cleaners that I bought at the grocery store and tried soap but carpets never get very clean. Is there a good brand that anyone has found to work really well?
I use the 950 Cleaner and I would have to agree that it is the best thing you can use to clean stains. It will work on nearly any surface, and it really does pull stains out with ease.
Q: how to lay a carpet on the iron sheet In the winter?
Carpet paving generally has two methods, one is the simple paving method, sticking the carpet on the ground with adhesive directly, which is also known as B pavement; another way is to put a layer of rubber or foam cushion on the ground, and then pave the carpet above it, and fix the carpet with nailing strips installed around the edge of the carpet, splicing places need to use hot tape to bond together, this approach is called A pavement. Before laying the carpet, you should first clean the surface of the ground. Such as the wood floors, the loose or broken floor should be repaired first. If pave on the cement floor, the sunken and carina should be patched and chiseled .. If the cement ground is easy to be damp, you can brush the cold primer oil first or lay a layer of asphalt paper. design the pave scheme before laying. if the carpet needs splicing, you should place it in an inconspicuous place or to the seam that is not easy to suffer harm. it should have 1 mm gap around the wall. pay attention to the direction of the wool while splicing in order to avoid cromatic aberration. hammer concrete steel nails on the ground around the walls... All the nails should be slightly inclined to walls, it means stick the carpet on the ground with adhesive, in splicing place, chisel the carpet. if carpet needs to be spliced. If pave on the cement floor,
Q: I have a 1 yr old Male, fixed, cat. He's never given me ANY problems. except lately he's been urinating on the bathroom rug.. Well, it sounds worse than it really is.. he did it once, then I washed the rug.. it was clean for a day.. then he peed on it once again. There are NO other cats in the house, the litter box IS in the bathroom. I can not scold him or correct the behavior because of the amount of time lapsed when he's gone on the rug. So he wouldn't know what he's being corrected for ( I was in Dog training) This is his only vice. :( Please help!

Q: Me and my husband have been searching apartments for rent and 90% come with carpets. Being both from Europe, we are not used to the smell of carpet. We just wondered what happened in this country that so many people use carpets.
well theres not really a big reason for it its just that most of the time its the living room and bedrooms that have carpet which makes the floor warm, when you are just walking in your house barefoot you dont want to walk on a cold hardwood floor the whole time, some like carpet because it can be considered a luxory ( i have no idea why it is i guess because its expensive ) others have it just because of the color! well thats the only reasons i have known. if you are buying the apartment you can always take the carpet out of the house, thats what we had to do in our house because of my 2 littlest brothers they would always spill drinks etc. on the floor so we just pulled up the carpet, and there you have it. =)
Q: what is the commercial that the woman is looking at her carpet saying oh no my mother in law is coming in a hour how am i supposed to get this carpet clean. It's like a shake on thing moist powder or foam then you vacuum up after like 30 mins.
commercial carpet cleaners do a rotten job, except for Resolve. most that a powder can do is loosen some dirt and hair and deodarize. the foaming ones do not work. Buy a tub of Oxy-Clean, make a thick paste out of warm water in a Dixie cup. spread on carpet, work in with brush, wait a minute, then pick up the most that you can with a wet towel, rinseing at least once.
Q: What's the difference?
I think rugs are woven in such a way that they are stronger, and more resilient against people walking on them. I think in theory you could use a tapestry as a rug, but it would probably have a shorter lifespan than a rug. so don't do it with your best tapestries.
Q: Looking for someone in Turkey who is already trained in fine rug repair. If anyone knows anyone please contact Passion of Persia.
I found their site over the net though, so I can't give a personal reference on this one. Yet they are located at the Hal?c?lar ?ar??s?, that is the Rug Sellers Market, so they got to be adequately skilled in their trade I reckon. But again, at your own risk I must add. To call their number you should add 0090 country code to the front (009002125149738)
Q: Okay here's the scoop. My wife recently talked me into purchasing a 8 by 10 $600 throw rug for our living room. She said it would look nice when guests come over and it does. The carpet has a lot of light colors in it as well as some dark and here is where the problem is... I want to roll up the carpet so it's against the wall when its just regular everyday traffic and roll it out only when we have guests. My thinking is there's less chance of it getting spoiled andd it would extend the life of the carpet My wife thinks I'm crazy!!!!!!!!!!!$
Yes, you are being overprotective but its understandable. You don't want the rug to get spoiled and the best way to ensure that is to use it minimally. BUT. Its your home. And if you buy something to make your home look better, you're doing that so YOU can live in a better, prettier home :) the rug isn't there for your guests to appreciate it, it's there for you to appreciate it :) so maybe you should just leave it there and not roll it up and put it away'
Q: Just wondering if anyone knows a product that will loosen carpet glue without ruining the finish on a terrazzo floor... the previous owners of our house covered up the terrazzo with carpeting and glued down the padding... not a lot of glue, but enough for me to say bad words, and I'd really like to take some of the carpeting out, but can't afford to have someone else come in to refinish the terrazzo at this point...Anyway, does anyone know of anything I could use?
The extension handle on the scraper will help your back from getting too sore. I spent many a day (between the ages 19-23) scraping carpet/vinyl glue off of sub-floors and tile. I don't envy you your task! (lol) PS- Removing the old carpet is going to improve the overall health of your home. Old carpeting is the #1 cause of asthma and other air-born illness's. When we moved into our home the FIRST thing we did was remove and replace the carpeting. (At that time we could not afford to replace with real wood floors.) 4 years ago we found some tongue and groove laminate flooring (from all places) at Sams Club. It was super simple to install and the price was RIGHT! So, now we have wood flooring all in the upstairs area's of our home. Wood or Tile flooring is awesome. It's healthier easier to keep clean than carpet.
Q: why do linoleun floors yellow with area rugs?
Chemical reaction between the rubber backing and the linoleum, some of the antioxidants used in the latex or rubber backing compound are of the 'staining' type (which are generally amine- or sulfur-containing) and could easily migrate to the residual unsaturation in your linoleum.
