- Q:Many men ( Military ) say Get the press out and let us do our job.
- If the media were as present in WW2 as they are now, we'd have lost the war! The press only wants to show the BAD side of the military. Don't believe me? Come to s.e. Virginia and watch CBS/NBC/ABC affiliate news here! If a military or ex-military person does something wrong, the first thing you hear is his NAME, RANK and DUTY STATION. But let a CIVILIAN do the same thing and you never hear where they work (unless they committed the crime at their work place). We do have on reporter who is VERY pro-military and gets involved showing the GOOD side (she came to our church and did a spot when we did a MILITARY APPRECIATION DAY service). Sometimes they can't even get the story straight. One 5 pm news cast they were talking about the USS America CV-66 and showed a video of a carrier going by with the number on the island 68..the USS NIMITZ CVN-68! I called them up about it and on the 6 pm news, they had the right ship on! They did a spot about the USS BRISCOE DD-977 (a destroyer) and had a picture of the USS MT. WHITNEY LCC-20 (a 'multi command ship). There were other screw ups too numerous to list. Guess who was on the beach when our U.S. Marines landed....in SOMALIA! Yup, the NEWS media. Really stupid! Can you imagine having that happening at Normandy Beach? I say if the media wants to record battle, give them a gun and let THEM fight, too!
- Q:Basically I do both in my full body workout but was wondering is there any point in doing the less press if im doing squats and deadlifts.
- Both are big compound exercises that will work all of your leg and core muscles to some degree. Leg press isolates the quads a lot more, and is generally considered a secondary exercise to squats if you are doing leg work outs. I rotate between two leg routines, One starts with squats followed by leg press, the other starts with dead lifts followed by leg press. (I don't do squats and dead lifts on the same day) If you were only doing a leg work out I would say leg press would be fine for a couple of sets to get a little extra quad isolation. But since you are doing an all over routine I would suggest no leg press, simply because an all over routine is usually quite demanding and usually based on the bigger compound exercises. Depending on how often you work out you could alternate between leg press and squats, but squats is the preferable exercise.
- Q:Not so long ago, the press was highly deferential to those in high office. For example, President Kennedy had numerous affairs, and the press knew about them, but did not report them to the public. Queen Mary, the grandmother of the present Queen, smoked cigarettes and died of lung cancer, but when she died, the cause of death was reported to be gastric problems. While most people knew that Franklin Roosevelt was crippled by polio, the press, most of the time, refrained from taking pictures of his withered legs. Then, all of a sudden, the press turns around. The Pentagon Papers are published. Princess Diana is hounded mercilessly. Walter Cronkite, who was the male equivalent to Jane Fonda, goes to Vietnam, misinterprets the results of the Tet offensive, and demoralizes the American people, thereby giving great aid and comfort to our enemy, North Vietnam. Oh, and don't forget Watergate, when the press hounded Nixon out of office. So what happened? When, where, and why did the press change like that?
- I think 'turned traitor' is much too strong for this context. It is more a sign of changing times and technology and good manners. It is the job of the press to figure out things, and report this to the public. What you describe is what happened when left wing moralists got important enough jobs within the press to make moral judgments. Especially with regard to Cronkite and Watergate. Any information not fitting the popular image was filtered away. That continues until the day of today, and MUCH more in Europe than would be acceptable in the USA. But this attitude is a sword with two sides. It works just as well the other way. The environmentalists were the first to discover the powers of a free press on the Internet. Not the newspapers and the media, they behaved as required. The Internet changed almost everything. You know something was wrong, you could have told your friends, who probably agreed, maybe write a letter to the newspaper - which wouldn't be published. And that was all you could do. Now you see a politically correct item on an online newspaper with several thousand comments opposing the article. People carry pones with cameras and don't hesitate to place something on Youtube. Or open a web site or blog and report about it, with thousands of people responding to it. It used to be that the the left was able to muzzle the conservative voice. But no longer. When did the press turn traitor, as you describe it? About the time of the Vietnam war. Young left wing university graduates got jobs, and worked from there upwards. Not just in the USA, but even more so in Europe. The left progressive opinion took hold after the 1968 riots and became politically acceptable. Until very recent, they kept that power.
- Q:I was pushed against the side of a building in an alleyway and he felt me up (and by that I mean he put his hands under clothing all over very aggresively), hit me once in the face, and yelled and threatened me. He is 19 i just found out. Can I press charges against him? And if so, for what and what are the possible punishments? Thank you!
- Yes you can press charges. This is an aggressive sexual assault. The punishment would be quite severe, very likely he'd get a custodial sentence. Get someone who will be supportive to go with you when you report it, you will have give a very detailed account of what happened. You should get images of any injuries, and you should see a doctor for confirmation of any cuts and bruises. Don't wait the sooner you report him the better.
- Q:I always buy cold pressed paper, and have to stretch it, but every time i do, it still turns out wrinkled. I wet it then tape it to my board and let it dry but Im not sure what i am doing wrong
- I okorder /... I have bought this paper and other supplies from both these art houses and have been very satisfied with both.
- Q:yesturday i just got a hard press instead of a relaxer and i spiral wrapped it and this morning my hair came out puffywhat can i do tomorrow to make my hair go straight down
- Well a hard press just temporarily straightens your hair where as a relaxer permanently straightens it. So since you only got your hair press, your hair is likely to absorb moisture and puff up. So try to avoid water, rain, sweating, humidity(hot weather) and steam from the shower (you have to tie your hair up). But those are all preventative measures and it seems like the damage has already been done. You probably need to run through it again with a flat iron.
- Q:does it work good i have my products online how can customers buy from me from cafe press. can i print out my store and bring them to postoffices and laundry mats so other people can buy from me.
- I've never listed anything on Cafe Press, but I have ordered a few things off of it. The transactions went smoothly and I'd order again from there. Customers will come across your products when they do a search of the items on the main page. You can also branch out and post your links in appropriate forums (like, the one I purchased from, was a shirt for a little one I nanny for...I came across the link in a nanny forum) or try posting them in actual stores. Good luck.
- Q:Does anyone know of a small press that accepts poetry manuscripts and fiction semi-based on a real life experience? What does everyone think of self-publishing? What does that cost the author (ball park figure)? Does Amazon and places like that get to sell your book? How would an author self-publishing get the book to be sold at a Barnes and Noble store? Trying to educate myself. Thanks!

- Q:I need to increase my bench press ill be playing varsty football next year so i need to get stronger i only bench press 205 once and i am 5 10 255. and im 15 years old
- heavy weight low reps. bench the max you can do: say if you can bench 185 3 or 4 times then that would be good. go for as many sets as you can untill you cant push any more. try not to bench more than 3 times a week. and slowly increase the weight by maybe 5 lbs every other week. or if you can handle more than 5lbs then go for it . you are in a powerlifting type workout to build strength and size.
- Q:i have just got done writing a book on how to lose up to 36 inch's in under 2 weeks with a secret bodywrap recipe that i have developed and a detox program that my personal training clients love, does anyone know how to write an effective press release. i would be willing to trade a copy of my book for a great press release.
- Google sample press release and you will be amazed at the number of websites offering excellent tips. One important tip: keep it very factual. No hype, or the editor will just toss your press release into the wastebasket. If you are going to make such a strong claim, be sure to back it up with facts. How many people have lost weight/inches this way, etc. I just wrote a news release for a terrific pet product that a well-known dog breeder had developed. She has the pedigree to make her claims believable, and a list of supportive testimonials as long as your arm. Good luck to you.
