- You are probably pressing too hard with the thumb. You really shouldn't need to apply any pressure with the thumb in most cases. Your fingers alone should be able to press the strings down. You need to experiment with the exact amount of pressure to use to fret each string to get rid of this habit. It actually requires very little pressure to fret a string unless you have really high action or use a larger string gauge.

- I have a French Press - plus a great Cuisinart coffee pot/machine, and a DeLonghi Magnifica 3300 espresso machine. I use the French Press very rarely, because I think the coffee is too weak - and I'm not sure how you can really get that great of a cup of coffee by pushing down on the grounds by hand. The DeLonghi has very high bars of pressure and the grounds are compacted into little disks after each cup.... The Cuisinart makes great regular coffee too - and brews directly into a thermal pot, which keeps it hot for many hours....
- Q: Help! I've been stuck benching 140lbs for a good 1 month. I try overloading but it has not worked because I would just get tired. I'm 15 years old, 5'3 and weigh 105lbs. - Well if you're trying to beef up you need to eat more protein. If you're not a big eater then eat your three meals a day and snack on protein bars. As for the plateau just take a break from bench pressing like for a week then go back at it. Doing the same thing causes muscles memory. If you're looking to increase strength then try resistance training for a while then go back to bench pressing that way you don't fall into a plateau. Resistance training is a little more work on muscles so you probably want to start with less then 140Lb of resistance. Switch your workout up this will help keep you from the plateau effect.
