- Yes you can bench press on it. Its says you can beneath the picture... It doesnt say anything about coming with weights.

- Q: I have been bench pressing for 2 years now and I have never been injured. Towards the end of the school year I started feeling this sharp pain in my front deltoid and my shoulder. When I was lifting it hurt when I pushed the weight up. The pain isnt so much shoulder or chest its both, where the armpit lining is. The pain is a sharp pain sort of feels like the muscle inside is sore. I the pain wasnt going away so I iced it for like 2 days and I tried lifting again. I still felt the pain. So i took some time off and did not touch any weights for a whole month. Today i got back and tried lifting and I still felt the pain. There is no pain when im doing close grip bench, the pain comes when my grip gets a little wide. ANY ONE HAVE ANY AVICE or TREATMENT.
- I have had a similar injury and first of all you should rest it and ice it if there is pain. I would suggest taking a few weeks off but this time get some light dumbells(5lbs) and do several sets of 20 overhead and flat bench. After you've done a 4-5 sets stretch your shoulders, chest, lats. I did this routine for about a month and now im pain free in bench. I know it feels silly using such small weights but just getting your shoulders warmed up and then stretching them helps healing. I do jiu jitsu and i actually had my shoulder tweaked pretty far and this really helped. And once your back to your normal routine make sure to stretch after if you don't already, it prevents injury.

- Both work the same target muscles. The chest press does alot of the stablising for you so not as many assistant muscles are used. The bench press is a progression of the chest press. When you are able to use the chest press and maintain perfect form then you are ready to progress to the bench press. Because you need more stability when performing a bench press it will be harder and you should find that you can not lift as heavy at first. If you have not used the bench press before start light and make sure you have someone to spot you. Once you have mastered the bench press you can progress to a dumbell press and then to a single arm DB press.

- Q: Hey, I have recently purchased a free weight bench press. But I can't always have a spotter and I have seen some bench presses that have safety rails to the bar cant fall on you.Is there anywhere I can purchase some safety rails? Are they only for a specific bench?
- There are safety rails but they can be pricey that can be used for any bench. I have included some website on bench press safety. I would suggest if you can't afford a safety rail then do use a spotter if you are using a straight bar. If you don't have a spotter try doing incline presses or flies with two free weights or different kinds of push-ups. Push-ups are a great way to built the chest. We just recently lost a high school football player to a bench press accident. He was working out alone and his mother came home and found him dead so please be safe while working out.
