- Q: I'm only 18 and started working out a year ago.. I'm 135 pounds and 5'7 and can leg press 170, 205 on hip abductors, but only can do 60 pounds on arm press. I know women are stronger in their legs but is 170 pounds impressive or should I increase my weight more?
- It doesn't matter how much weight you can do, what matters is what you look like. Guys could care less how much weight a girl can lift, just what kind of body she has. If she keeps herself in good shape and looks good, than who cares how much she can bench press, leg press, etc. Same for guys as well. What matters is that you are putting enough weight on to get all of your reps in. The amount of reps you do depends on weather or not you want to get bigger muscles or just tone up. Higher weight, lower reps will put more muscle on. Lower weight but more reps will get you more tone.

- No but you can not achieve the shapes suggested but you can use cookie cutters Otherwise you have just drop cookies

- In a military press the bar should come down below your chin but it's possible you could have pulled a muscle by doing the press in bad form or got off balance. Might be a pulled/strained trapezius muscle. A good medicine for this type of pain is Naxproxen by prescription or Aleve over the counter.

- the records have a groove . when you play the record a pickup rides in the groove and the ridges in the groove wiggle the pickup to give the sound. to make the records they first make a metal version of the record that has a ridge instead of a groove so that when this metal disk stamps the blank vinyls it leaves the groove in the record. thats called pressing a record.

- improve the bench press? wouldn't hurt./ also, if you're not already doing it ,squeeze the bar very tightly and you'll notice that all the contracting muscles will amp up also. And visualize that you are pushing yourself away from the bar instead of pushing the bar away. concentrating on tension in the body is more important that concentration on the weight lifted. /good technique is strength.go to some powerlifting website for advice. good luck
