Design Features of full welded forged steel ball valve
The body of ball valve is full welded, selects high quality forged material, and adopts the advanced forged forming technology to form two semi-spheres which are welded into a whole in the middle of the body. This welding technology differentiates the ball valve form others, and makes the valve more spherically,so the valve structure is more compacter, lighter and stronger.Besides, the middle direct welding realize highly accurate valve body manufacturing, makes fully and completely sealing between the seat and ball. The full welding instead of bolts completely avoids the outside leakage,so ball valve is the ideal product for under-ground,offshore working platform and under-sea equipments.
Adopting fixed plates or trunnion to support the ball
The top and bottom of the ball is supported by upper and lower fixed plates or stem and trunnion, and the ball is accurately placed in the center of the ball valve to achieve complete seals and precise movements. When plate adopted, the force exerted by the medium to the ball is distributed via the plate to the left and right bodies,so that the stem does not bear the blending moment from the medium, but only the torque from the ball rotation during the opening/closing of the valve. The low-friction PTFE Teflon composite bearings installed between the ball axis and fixed plate and between the stem and the trunnion can absorb ball moving action caused by the pressure of the medium. This structure brings stable actions and easy operations for the ball valves, and the required operation torque can be reduced,so smaller actuators can be used, and the cost is cut down.
ball valve seat is floating structure, means the seat can move along the medium direction,so that the seat can fit against the ball all the time.
(Ⅰ)Double piston effect structure seat of full welded forged steel ball valve
Seat design is special double pistons effect structure,it can ensure the seal wherever the medium flows into the ball valve.
(Ⅱ)Seat multistage seal strucute of full welded forged steel ball valve
As following graphic instruction,on seat bearing ring, set two soft sealing rings(A and B)and metal sealing spherical surface which can seal with the ball.Seat ring A is spring loaded, which seals the surface with the ball tightly to the surface to form an initial seat; When there is pressure generated from medium, the piston force is generated to make seal ring A elastically deformed and seal ring B fit the surface of the ball surface due to the piston effect caused by area difference, thus the second seal forms. When the medium pressure is rising. It will generate huge pressure to seal ring A and seal ring B,so the two seals have a greater elastic deformation, then metal seal ball surface compact with ball surface to form the third level of metal to metal seal.
(Ⅲ)Secondary seat seal device of full welded forged steel ball valve
As the above graphic instruction, the secondary seal device(seat grease injection valve)can be chosen according to the actual working condition, medium requirement, seal requirement, etc.Seat ring grease injection valve is a one-way valve, installed on the body, which can prevent the leakage and inject grease under the outside force. When secondary seal is required, there is a grease injecting channel and hole on the seat ring. The grease can form a seal between the seat and the ball, and then stop the leakage.

- Q: Okay, I got a 347 stroker and I noticed a spot that was leaking under one of my valve cover gaskets. So I went ahead and bought new gaskets. But before I replaced the gaskets I noticed that my valve cover bolts wasn't tight. So I basically went out for nothing and get new gaskets. Anyways since I couldnt return them, I went ahead and changed the gaskets. And I tightened all of them pretty tight. And I noticed that I still have an oil leak at the same valve cover gasket at the same place. Why is this? I also used cork gaskets, did I tighten them too hard? How hard should you torque valve cover bolts/
- cork gaskets have to swell use rv gasketseal around bolts and corners
- Q: I just installed three anti-siphon valves(jar top, orbit) for a sprinkler system the main water line is 3/4 then goes into my manifold (pvc)3/4 schedule 40,usually when you turn on the water it comes to a stop where you re valves begin then you either open them manually or their set up through you re timer, the problem im having when i open the main water line the water goes straight through the valves without me even opening them my question is can it be to much pressure or what can the problem be? any info helps thank you
- another thing that can cause this is when assembeling the manifold it got filled full of rocks that are holding the diaphrams open
- Q: If my understanding is correct, in a standard combustion engine as you press the gas pedal the speed of everything increases: the cam shafts spin faster (and thus the valves move faster), the pistons move faster...EVERYTHING goes faster. That sounds like an optimal system in theory, so what is the benefit of having the valves be able to be intelligently out of phase (for lack of a better phrase) with the rest of the system?
- Thinking of time, the valves are open longer during engine idle and much less at higher engine speeds. Now think of a small block chevy where we can change engine timing a little bit advanced or retard which affects power and performance. To make a bigger change, another grind of camshaft has to be installed. This grinding of camshaft is called profile - the characteristics of the lobes size, ramps and direction which work at an entirely different fashion. With variable valve timing, the computer can advance or retard a cam to adapt to many different profiles to provide the best power, torque, economy and lowest emissions possible for any given condition such as cruising down a highway, climbing a long tall hill, or driving light to light through the city. Almost an infinite amount of profiles without swapping out a single camshaft. Seems alot easier and sure is alot cheaper, and we don't have to do the work anymore. Systems are pretty reliable as they typically use engine oil pressure that is directed by a solenoid run the by the ECM on a duty cycle which allows oil pressure to the advance side of a cylinder on the end of a camshaft where the cam is rotated ahead of its resting position thus changing the time the valves are open and when they open. The cam is spring returned to resting position ( some may be hydraulic?) Hope I explained this so it is clearer than mud.
- Q: i have a 1970 chevy sb 350 and i need to set the valve lash what is the proper method and where do i start? everything is stock!
- Woah, woah! You didn't say exactly what 350 you have - do you have a hydraulic lifter cam in it or is it a solid lifter cam? You cannot preload a solid lifter, and doing that with the engine running ain't that good of an idea. You need to get into the ballpark of having the proper preload in the first place in order to even do the final adjustment with an engine running, anyway. Verify what kind of lifter you have before you proceed. For a newb and for a stock engine, you really can't go wrong with the method below - it includes video assistance to help with the visual. I've adjusted hydraulic lifters on a 305 the non-running way, and on a running like the previous post mentioned, for a 350 with a performance cam. Let me tell you, even with the clips, you will make a very big mess adjusting that engine running, plus you need to be painfully careful of doing something dumb, like putting your paws near the running belts - something I wouldn't expect a newbie to feel comfortable doing. Save risking your hands for when you set the timing!
- Q: I heard alot about blow off valves making your engine run rich, but I want to get a blow off valve or bypass valve when I get a wrx. (I know some people think they're gay) but i dont care how loud it is, just want that sound. so what's the difference? I've been looking at this one:
- Bypass Valve Turbo
- Q: My valve cover gasket has less them 2k miles on it and i noticed in some areas there is a lil oil shine around it so i was thinkin maybe i have to retighten the valve cover a lil bit more?
- Valve cover gaskets aren't really affected by miles. They either don't leak or they do. I'd just snug it up a bit. If it still leaks you can put some sealant on the gasket, but only if you can lift it off without wrecking it since you'd have to seal it on both sides. Don't tighten it too much or you will make the leaks worse.
- Q: How do you know if you need a new EGR valve or if you just need to clean it?
- Bring it to the dealer, they will take it apart and find out whether it's just clogged or broken or something else - like for example, DPFE sensor on Fords
- Q: my mid eighties GM full size car with a 305 just started to have a problem...it runs fine at idle.....runs rough/sluggish at speed......when I take my foot off the gas there is a fast rattle in the engine.........and sometimes the engine likes to idle fast.....I replaced the catalytic converter last year ...........so now I am thinking of changing the egr valve....there is no service engine soon light on and this car is a mid eighties so no obd 2 system on this car......any other ideas? thanks
- EGR valve got sooty, and rusty and dirty and then they dont work right. They either dont open or they get stuck open and cause the car to run lousey. If the valve has been i the car since the 80's it is probably about time to either clean it or change it. do you have haynes or chilton manual for the car? they explain alot.
- Q: I'm going to replace a valve guide and wondering how I should do it.Should I drill into the existing valve guide to the point it's small enough to pinch with some pliers and pull it out? When I put the new one in, should I use a wooden dowel and an air nailer to pound the guide into place? The more info. the better. It's my first time doing this. Thanks!
- Ohhhh man. NO DRILLS. I assume you are referring to an Aluminum Cylinder head. To do it correctly you need a drift punch that has a pilot size of the valve stem, and an outside diameter that is just a few thousands smaller than the guide. Disassemble the head completely, put in Moms oven at the highest setting it will go to ( 5-6 hundred degrees ) Pound old guide out from the combustion camber side. ( have every thing ready to go this FFer will be hot ). Coat new guide with something like STP, put in freezer, carefully align it, then slam it home from the valve train side, don't pussy around, get it in before it attracts the heat of the head, if you stop or it stops you will have to repeat the entire process. If you gall the Aluminum ( say O-**** ) Since you have to hit this thing fairly hard you will need to refinish the inside of the guide with the appropriate reamer. Then refinsh Valve seat ( they never, NEVER line up perfectly )
- Q: what is the purpose of valves such as: gate valve, foot valve and globe valve in the industry?
- the valves control the flow
