Q: can you spray WD-40 on it so you can turn it off?
What kind of valve? Water? Gas? If it's a gas valve, LEAVE IT ALONE and call the gas company or a plumber. If it's water, if it breaks it won't kill you, but it can make a huge and expensive mess. First, are you sure that you're turning the valve in the right direction? When facing the valve, turn it clockwise to turn it off. If that's not the problem, then using WD-40 or other petroleum based product might work, but you have to be patient with it. Let it soak in and give it time to work dissolving and loosening rust or general grunge that might be freezing the valve. There are other products developed specifically to loosen nuts and bolts, but if you don't have easy access to an auto parts store, then try this. Spray the valve generously, wait 30 minutes, work the valve gently back and forth, spray again wait 30 minutes, work it again, etc. until the valve loosens. Don't force the valve or you'll snap it.
Q: Ok so I have a Honda Civic 97 lx and what happened was that when I did an oil change the next day the car started over heating, the car only had pure water and no coolant, the over heating part happened during noon when I was driving on the freeway the next day and not the night I made the oil change... After that I decided to put 50/50 coolant but the car still over heats, a friend told me that I probably needed to do a coolant system bleed, I try to do it but I couldn't find the bleeding valve or bleed screw... can anyone pls tell me where that valve or screw is located, I discovered a sort of valve that is covered by a black rubber cap , its next to the engine I don't know if that's what I'm looking for.....

Q: When and why do you need to get a valve job? My car has 85k miles on it. What is the difference between a valve-job and valve-adjustment? what would the increase in power be on mine? 3800 series 2 engine, assuming it is just a little old, no major problems. 5-10hp?
MOST modern engines have hydraulic lifters, which pretty much eliminates the need to have any periodic valve adjustments. You can take stock heads to a shop and put two grand into them and make better flow and bigger valves and more power, or actually buy a set of performance heads for less and make more power. the only time your valves would need to be set is when putting together a new engine, or taking apart the one you have and replacing say a head gasket or something. (in which case you would have a shop go through the heads and make sure they are up to factory specs. If your engine is running fine, and you have kept the oil clean and the motor in good tune, follow the recommended maintenance intervals in your owners manual. a valve adjustment is not going to give you horsepower.

Q: the air valve, how does it propel a paintball in a blowback operated paintball gun how does the size/shape/?? of the valve impact how fast the paintball shoots?
The majority of blowback paintball guns use a pin valve, which is opened when struck by the hammer. The hammer is held in the back position, with the spring compressed, by a sear. When the trigger is pulled, the hammer is propelled forward by the spring, into the valve. These sorts of markers generally use a “stacked tube” design, in which the valve and hammer is contained in the lower tube, while the bolt, which is connected to the hammer, is in the upper tube. The gas released by the valve is then simultaneously channeled up to the bolt to fire the paintball, and back to push the hammer back into the ****** position (hence the name “blowback”). Poppet valves are usually easy to replace and require little, if any, maintenance. The downside to this design, however, is its high operating pressure, which leads to a larger recoil and arguably less accuracy. The valve is usually designed to accommodate a specific operating pressure. Low pressure valves provide quieter operation and increased gas efficiency when tuned properly. However, excessively low pressure can decrease gas efficiency as dramatically as excessively high pressure. The volume of gas released by the valve directly affects the paintball's velocity. The velocity adjuster alters the pretension on the hammer spring which controls how long the pin valve is held open for, or more correctly how much gas must be released to push it back into the ****** position. EDIT - Sorry but wouldn't even know where to start on designing a valve.
Q: and that i need a valve job. what is a valve job, and is it expensive? i have a stock 1.6 SI motor in it, but i want to make my car better and faster, would it be cheaper to buy a new engine? some of the people who want to buy my car say that they would put a B16 vtec in it. what is that, and how much better is it than my engine?
Basically a valve job is a valve backlash check and adjustment. There has to be a clearance measured in thousanths of an inch between the camshaft and the rocker assembly. This is generally measured with feeler guages.
Q: Ok. i just got my trumpet and i barely know anything about it. my trumpet book says, oil your valves but i cant even get them unscrewed, its like theyre glued in there...or maybe im just doing something wrong. Helppp
Flip your trumpet over and take some valve oil and put it in the small holes on the bottom of each valve casing. If this doesn't make sense to you take it back to the store you bought it from and have them help you with it. DO NOT FORCE THE VALVES OFF THE INSTRUMENT IT WILL DO MAJOR DAMAGE!!!!
Q: Can anyone tell me what to do if i know that I have the type of valve stem that was recalled TR413chrome?? Will they replace them for free since they are a recall or do I have to dish out some more $$ to fix the problem??? The company that sold them to me is in Florida (Wheelmax) and I am in Mass. Not sure what to do to avoid having to pay out more $$ to have them replaced...any help is greatly appreciated

Q: I have recently been diagnosed with Endometriosis within the last 2 years. I have also had Mitral Valve Prolapse (MVP) for the past 10 years. ... Anyways... I was reading in a brochure for Endometrosis that there is a commonality between having those two diseases. If you know of the reasoning behind this I would be very interested in knowing. As I have yet to find an answer yet. I am just curious why having one will give you a larger likley hood to get the other. Thanks for your time and answers!
I went to see an herbalist and when she heard that I had MVP the first question she asked was did I have endometriosis as well. She asked only to confirm and to state that she had ZERO female patients with MVP that did not also have endometriosis. I can tell you that since menopause, the endometriosis has been unnoticeable, but the MVP has gone from mild to moderate. I monitor my body better than most because of an autoimmune disorder. I do not doubt that there is a connection.
Q: i have a leaky tp valve on my hot water boiler. The valve is rated at 30 psi and 155,000 btu. I can't find one with that btu rating. will a higher rating work?
Don't go by the the old valve, look at the specification tag on the boiler. Do not exceed the temp or pressure rating. If you do, you will only create a time bomb and a big one at that. In no circumstances should you use a valve with a higher rating than the heater!
