Design Features of full welded forged steel ball valve
The body of ball valve is full welded, selects high quality forged material, and adopts the advanced forged forming technology to form two semi-spheres which are welded into a whole in the middle of the body. This welding technology differentiates the ball valve form others, and makes the valve more spherically,so the valve structure is more compacter, lighter and stronger.Besides, the middle direct welding realize highly accurate valve body manufacturing, makes fully and completely sealing between the seat and ball. The full welding instead of bolts completely avoids the outside leakage,so ball valve is the ideal product for under-ground,offshore working platform and under-sea equipments.
Adopting fixed plates or trunnion to support the ball
The top and bottom of the ball is supported by upper and lower fixed plates or stem and trunnion, and the ball is accurately placed in the center of the ball valve to achieve complete seals and precise movements. When plate adopted, the force exerted by the medium to the ball is distributed via the plate to the left and right bodies,so that the stem does not bear the blending moment from the medium, but only the torque from the ball rotation during the opening/closing of the valve. The low-friction PTFE Teflon composite bearings installed between the ball axis and fixed plate and between the stem and the trunnion can absorb ball moving action caused by the pressure of the medium. This structure brings stable actions and easy operations for the ball valves, and the required operation torque can be reduced,so smaller actuators can be used, and the cost is cut down.
ball valve seat is floating structure, means the seat can move along the medium direction,so that the seat can fit against the ball all the time.
(Ⅰ)Double piston effect structure seat of full welded forged steel ball valve
Seat design is special double pistons effect structure,it can ensure the seal wherever the medium flows into the ball valve.
(Ⅱ)Seat multistage seal strucute of full welded forged steel ball valve
As following graphic instruction,on seat bearing ring, set two soft sealing rings(A and B)and metal sealing spherical surface which can seal with the ball.Seat ring A is spring loaded, which seals the surface with the ball tightly to the surface to form an initial seat; When there is pressure generated from medium, the piston force is generated to make seal ring A elastically deformed and seal ring B fit the surface of the ball surface due to the piston effect caused by area difference, thus the second seal forms. When the medium pressure is rising. It will generate huge pressure to seal ring A and seal ring B,so the two seals have a greater elastic deformation, then metal seal ball surface compact with ball surface to form the third level of metal to metal seal.
(Ⅲ)Secondary seat seal device of full welded forged steel ball valve
As the above graphic instruction, the secondary seal device(seat grease injection valve)can be chosen according to the actual working condition, medium requirement, seal requirement, etc.Seat ring grease injection valve is a one-way valve, installed on the body, which can prevent the leakage and inject grease under the outside force. When secondary seal is required, there is a grease injecting channel and hole on the seat ring. The grease can form a seal between the seat and the ball, and then stop the leakage.

- Q: I have a no start on a briggs and straon 16.5 OHV. It has spark, and fuel. and backfire's through the intake. I took off the top of the motor to check the key way and it was in place. I think its a valve timing issue but what times the valve? I have not removed the flywheel yet because i need a puller. Is there another key way under the flywheel that times the valves
- pull the valve cover , you got a busted intake rocker arm or a bent pushrod. maybe something else but id say 90% chance. edit: omg i said intake rocker lol. i mean't exhaust rocker arm /pushrod. the thing can't get the exhaust out so its popping out the intake likely.
- Q: When and why do you need to get a valve job? My car has 85k miles on it. What is the difference between a valve-job and valve-adjustment? what would the increase in power be on mine? 3800 series 2 engine, assuming it is just a little old, no major problems. 5-10hp?
- MOST modern engines have hydraulic lifters, which pretty much eliminates the need to have any periodic valve adjustments. You can take stock heads to a shop and put two grand into them and make better flow and bigger valves and more power, or actually buy a set of performance heads for less and make more power. the only time your valves would need to be set is when putting together a new engine, or taking apart the one you have and replacing say a head gasket or something. (in which case you would have a shop go through the heads and make sure they are up to factory specs. If your engine is running fine, and you have kept the oil clean and the motor in good tune, follow the recommended maintenance intervals in your owners manual. a valve adjustment is not going to give you horsepower.
- Q: It's filling up a 5 gallon bucket roughly ever 9-10 hours. It was leaking with an old valve and has been replaced, and after being replaced it didn't stop. The temperature has not been adjusted higher or lower, it's exactly where it was for the year before the leak started. Any ideas?
- RET68 I think has the answer, the water heater Relief valve is a 150 lb valve, what you have is thermo expansion. It usually is noticed when a new water heater is installed, because the old water heaters relief valve was grimmy and corroded and wouldn't work anyway.some city water systems have a back flow preventer on the line where water enters the house this is a large problem contributing to the thermo expansion (when the water heats up it has nowhere to go besides out the pressure relief valve on your water heater).Private water systems don't have this problem because they have a pressure tank (well extrol) for there water.which is in essence a thermo expansion tank.
- Q: HowdyWas taking apart a screw down NR valve and screw lift valve and noticed the spindles were made out of different materials. Brass and Steel.I am aware that brass is non corrosive but why use steel in the other valve? Is it due to their operation, do they come or not come in contact with fluids? Is one cheaper than the other? The screw lift globe valve had a steel spindle and the screw down nr glove valve had a brass spindle. Also, if anyone knows what materials are used in the valve lid and seat are made of.Any ideas?Cheers
- *In steam service , steam flashing is one of the factor which erode the spindle ( say valve stem) *The stem serves as a connector from the actuator to the inside of the valve and transmits this actuation force. Stems are either smooth for actuator controlled valves or threaded for manual valves. The smooth stems are surrounded by packing material to prevent leaking material from the valve. This packing is a wearable material and will have to be replaced during maintenance. With a smooth stem the ends are threaded to allow connection to the plug and the actuator. The stem must not only withstand a large amount of compression force during valve closure, but also have high tensile strength during valve opening. In addition, the stem must be very straight, or have low run out, in order to ensure good valve closure. This minimum run out also minimizes wear of the packing contained in the bonnet, which provides the seal against leakage. The stem may be provided with a shroud over the packing nut to prevent foreign bodies entering the packing material, which would accelerate wear. Disc material: Cast Iron or Ductile Iron Disc Aluminum-bronze Disc Stainless Steel Disc Nickel-plated Ductile Iron Lid material: engineering plastics, Cast Iron. Seat material[hard/soft]: Seats can be integral to the valve body, that is hard metal or plastic. *Hard seat: Hardened steel,Cast Iron,EN-52 forging steel Valve Seats are made from Chrome Alloy Steel which has a high wear resistance at high temperature. Nearly all metal seated valves leak, even though some leaks are extremely small. *Soft seats can be fitted to the valve body and made of materials such as PTFE or various elastomers such as NBR, EPDM, FKM. Each of these soft materials is limited by temperature (rough maximum temperatures are listed below) NBR 80 °C EPDM 120 °C FKM 170 °C PTFE 200 °C
- Q: when riding my motorcycle valves start knocking i took to a mechanic and they did not resolve problem. i have baby ed my motorcycle. dint know what to do at this point and time.
- Charlie, I know it is hard to transfer a sound into a word. but valves don't knock, they clack. So if it isn't a clack it isn't a valve issue. Sadly you haven't helped us to diagnose the issue by giving the make and model of your bike. That would really be a help. I would like to help you further so if you hit my avatar you will find my email address for direct contact so I can help you further if you can't find out more help form the other guys.
- Q: i bought thie air connector kit and it has y-valves, suction cups and air control valves, what are the air control valves for?
- If theres a power outage the water won't go through the tube and into the air pump.
- Q: Cylinder head valves. Can't really differentiate the difference between burnt and just carbon build up on valves. Are they the same?If I the valves have no cracks or holes, can I clean the carbon off of them and reuse them.If they don't leak when I re-leak test them, are they then good to use?Had very little compression in one cylinder. What cleaner is safe to use on the valves?I know I should replace all, but any money I can save right now, helps a lot. Also I seen a method of re-lapping the valves by using a tool (stick with a suction cup on end that sticks to valve surface) that you spin while valve is seated. It refinishes the seat and recreates the seal/re-laps. Appears to work and seal just fine. Anything really wrong with this method?
- if the head or heads are off then why not take them to a machine shop ! they will grind the valves that are still good and replace the ones that are burnt up and they will make sure they seat good ! if you have low compression just on 1 cylinder then it might be a compression ring stuck !
- Q: how do you replace the pcv valve on a 1997 ford escort
- VERY easily. The rubber hose that is routed to the top of the throttle body on one end, is connected to the PCV valve on the other end, where the exhaust manifold is situated, by the radiator cooling fan.
- Q: 1991 Buick Spirit smokes early for five minutes in morning, from exhaust. Tried every carburator and gas cleanative fluid. Mechanic says Valve job'.
- Probably just the valve stem seals need replacing. NOT a entire 'valve job'. The seals help scrape oil off of valve stem to lower the amount of oil weeping into cylinder when engine is running or turned off. As the rubber ages, it cracks and loses its elasticity and doesn't wipe the stem properly. This is a lot cheaper versus a full 3-angle valve job which requires removal of the heads.. Get a second opinion.
- Q: ok...i want to find a valve that controls air pressure so i can let it out in 2 different ways for my pneumatic potato gunwhat websites or stores sell this (not home depot)
