The working principle of the folding edit this paragraph
Centrifugal pump is a water pump is widely used in automotive engine. Its structure is made up of fixed cast iron shell and installed on the shaft of the rotation of the impeller.
Working principle of the centrifugal water pump:
Impeller blades is generally a radial or backward bending, the number is 6 ~ 8 pieces. When the impeller rotates, the water in the water pump is driven impeller, in under the action of centrifugal force, to the edge of the impeller thrown out, and then through the shell and the impeller into the tangent direction outlet pipe is pressed into the engine water jacket. At the same time, the impeller center of pressure is reduced, the water in the radiator and continuously into the pipes were eight absorption center part of the impeller, form the circulation flow.
Due to the centrifugal water pump has small size, large water yield, simple structure, once the water pump failure is still can not interfere with water in the cooling system of heat convection circulation work, etc, so it is widely used.
- Q:as i asked before in my question what needs to be fixed when a water pump goes bad. so finally it went bad today the car leaked all coolant and for some reason all the blades on the fan broke and the battery light came on. which is connected to the alternator belt so thats not the problem. so now does anybody have any idea how much it would cost to fix and by what i know it needs a new belt for water pump and new fan and water pump etc. taking it to mechanic monday but wanna get an estimate first from u people. any ideass thanks
- Oh you found one doe 60 bucks good for you. Lot cheaper than the dealer quoted you. When a water pump job is done the fan and belt are removed anyways. So all you will have to buy is the new fan, the belt if you want. The other parts you listed are probably fine. The tech will inspect them when doing the water pump (if he's on top of things) and he'll let you know.
- Q:Is pumping water, the new pump is also this problem, the pump is also working, that is, no water, at night I opened, in the installation of water, second days also make it to noon is not so good
- This fully automatic self-priming pump, if there is no water, there are 4,A. The air in the pump cavity is exhausted. The solution is to unscrew the copper screw on the pump body,Two. Water pipe leakage solution, check the joints and piping to ensure reliable sealingThree. At the end of the valve or three does not open or there is a serious blockage, solutions to check the bottom valve goods three psychic activity,Four. Leakage of seal in pump, adjust or replace the sealWhat's more, you feel that there is a leak in your water inlet. Check the three pass on the water inlet of the water pump. Think of this fully automatic pump. The switch for your tap water can be kept open all the time
- Q:My water pump is starting to leak. The shops are quoting $250- $300 to replace but I can buy a water pump at the auto parts store and install myself for less than $100 but I don't know what all is involved with this repair or if I should try (my only experience with car repair up to now is recently replacing the alternator). If anyone has done this please let me know what you think. thanks
- you can make it even easier by purchasing a hayne's manual for your car when you buy the water pump. you will need it anyway so you can have the proper torque specs and sequence when reinstalling the new water pump. so if you don't have a torque wrench you will need to rent one. the first step of course will be to drain your cooling system. then use masking tape and a sharpie to number any connectors or hoses you have to remove to access the water pump. once the old one is off make sure to clean every trace of gasket material from the mating flange. then when you are ready to reinstall put a thin coat (use you fingers to spread)of rtv silicone to each side of the new gasket this will help hold in place. then here's where you will need the book insert the bolts and tighten them in sequence shown to the proper torque unless you want to chance cracking the new pump housing. on a car this old if it has not already been done now would be a good time to replace hoses (esp. if they are soft) and your thermostat since you've already got the cooling system drained. once everything is reassembled start the engine and begin pouring in the new coolant, if there are any bleed screws open these it's very important to get all the air out of the system if there are no bleed screws you can leave the cap off the radiator or expansion tank (you'll need to anyway) since one you think its filled when the thermostat opens its all gonna drain down and you'll have to top it off again. here is a good time to pay attention as it approaches normal operating temp be ready to start pouring as soon as the level starts to drop that will help keep more air from getting in. any questions feel free to e-mail me
- Q:I have a Chevy Express Van 3500, i believe that the water pump is leaking, how long would it last before major breakage?
- If it really is the water pump, then the coolant is seeping out of the weep hole at the bottom of the pump. Leakage from this location indicates that the seal around the shaft is worn. Eventually (no more than a few days), the leak will degrade to the point that the pump must be replaced. I personally don't use stop-leak in any system in our cars - I prefer to fix the leak and be done with it! For now, keep a close eye on that leak - and your temperature gauge.
- Q:can i drive my car ,with a blown water pump, 5 miles to a service center?
- Absolutely not. You'll most likely end up blowing the radiator. A great amount of pressure can/will be built up in the radiator and that's not good. I had the water pump go out in my Mazda MPV and didn't know it. I was going up the expressway and just so happened to notice that my temperature gauge was in the red and then I heard a pop and water and steam came shooting up from underneath the hood. You can usually only go about a 1/4 to 1/2 mile with a blown water pump. You'll have to get it towed.
- Q:Ok, so I have a 1997 3.8 liter ford mustang. I was driving home from work the other day, when temp gauge started to go up. I brought it to mechanic, and he said it was a bad water pump, due to bad antifreeze. So I am getting a new pump, and an antifreeze flush. My question is that since it overheated, will there be any damage to the engine? The temperature gauge never hit the red, and smoke never came out. I had to drive it for approx 15-20 miles when it started to overheat, and the temp gauge was bouncing from hot to normal.
- If its starts, runs and drives its probably ok. Sometimes the engine block can crack--- if so you might notice that you are loosing oil or antifreeze---- and/or they are mixing together inside the engine. Also, if you see a lot of white smoke coming from the tailpipe then you have a problem. Otherwise, even if it was overheated it should be fine as long as it wasn't driven for extended periods, over and over. Often what really causes damage to overheated vehicles is when people add cold water to an overheated engine, which can cause it to crack as well. The spark plugs probably got the worst of it... Change the spark plugs and your oil. Good luck and best regards.
- Q:I have a 1990 js550 that i picked up for a project. When in the water it overheats and minimal water comes out the tell tail. When on the tap it runs fine no overheating, so i disconnected the hose from the back of the ski where it sucks the water in and ran a garden hose directly to it. And the ski ran fine.I also cleaned all the tubes out with air.I am not getting enough water flow through the ski when it is in the water. Is there a water pump inside the motor? There is definitely no blockages, there is just no enough pressure to keep it cool. Thanks
- Jet Ski Pump
- Q:How to install circulating water pump for cooling tower?
- Water pump, cold water pump and hot water pump, the specific installation depends on the location of the cooling tower and the location of the heat exchanger, high cooling tower position, the need for hot water pump, heat exchanger position high. The cooling tower, cooling tower (Cooling tower), is using water as coolant, from a system to absorb heat emissions to the atmosphere, heat exchanged to produce steam, steam heat to volatile evaporation dissipation, convection and radiation heat transfer principle to disperse industrial waste heat or refrigeration and air conditioning to reduce evaporation cooling device therefore, in order to ensure the normal operation of the system, device as a barrel. The cooling tower can be divided into natural ventilation cooling tower and mechanical ventilation cooling tower according to its ventilation mode.
- Q:Ok, so if i have an 80 watt solar panel and want to run a 12v dc fan and water pump ONLY when the sun is out or enough light to power them, will i need something like a voltage regulator? I would like to have the panels charge deep cycle 12 v batteries at the same time or when the fan and pump is not running. For instance, i have the panels out and my fan and pump on allowing them to run only on solar as well as charge the batteries. What diagram would i use? I would probably get a charge control for the batteries but more importantly what would i need to regulate the power from the panels? Inverter?
- You may have to do some math. The 80 watt panel is only 80 watts at peak sun on a 75°F day at the equator. Chances are you will have something less than 80 watts to work with. But you can add up all the hours of partial sun to get an equivalant number of peak sun hours. An example would be a few hours in the morning and evening at partial power and a couple of hours at solar noon at nearly full power may give you 5 peak sun hours worth of light. 5 psh x 80 w/ps = 400 wh Your supply may have 400 watt hours worth of power per day. You state that the fan is 12v dc but what is the wattage? It could be a little 12v dc fan out of a computer or it could be a huge 12v dc fan out of an RV. What is the power requirements of the water pump? Is it a little 12v dc one for a foot tall decorative fountain or an industial 3 phase pump for a well? To charge the battery you need a voltage 120% higher than the battery voltage. 12v x120%=14.4 v To add up your loads convert them all the use to dc watt hours per day Here is an example to give you an idea of how to play with your numbers: Fan 12vdc x 1.5 A = 18 watts, use this for 5 hours your load would be 18w x 5hr = 90 watt hours Pump 120 vac x 2.5 amps = 300 watts (The AC will need to come from an inverter. The inverter has a certain amount of loss. How good it does the job of converting dc to ac is know as it's efficency. Lets use 90% to be safe) 300 watts / 0.90 = 333.4 watts, use this for 1/2 hour per day 333.4w x 0.5hr = 166.7 watt hours The 90 watt hours + the 167 watt hours = 257 watt hours per day. This would leave about 140 watt hours to put into the battery. Yes it would be best to use a charge controller to protect the battery from overcharging if the pump and fan are off, or from draining the battery too much if the fan or pump stays on.
- Q:the pump inlet how hard is this to replace i know the timing chain cover has to be removed and is this the propable place of the leak
- You can't fix it. Wanna' know why? You are here.
