Q: I’m moving to Las Cruces, NM in about a week and I need to get my carpets cleaned. Can anyone recommend a good carpet cleaning service? Preferably good carpet cleaners that are can remove difficult spots and stains from light colored carpets.
I've used Las Cruces Carpet Cleaning in the past and in my opinion; they are provide the absolute best service in town. They helped me clean and restore some very dirty carpets in one of our rentals back to brand new. The tenants we had didn't bother to clean the carpet before they left and it had nasty traffic lanes as well as spills everywhere, not to mention pet odors in one of the bedrooms. I really thought we would have to replace all the carpet in the house, but luckily we didn't have to. Give them a call. They saved us a ton of money.
Q: It has dried on the carpet
Go to an auto parts store and purchase a can of aerosol brake cleaner. Spray it on the tar and dab it up with a terry cloth towel as it softens and comes loose. This product smells a little so air out the room after use.
Q: hello, im getting a horse soonshe is a 15.3hh 5year old mare irish type sorti live in eastern england so the weather is pretty changeable :/i was looking at some horse rugs and i found some i like i thought that i would get 6 (3 stable 3 turnouts)i was going to get a :12oz/340g filled turnout9oz/250g filled turnoutand a no fill turnout sheet.14oz/400g filled stable8oz/220g filled stableand a waffle/fleece stable do u think that would be ok? first time horse owner you see want to get it right :) do i need more or more heavy filled rugs??thanks xXp.s the horse will be out in the summer months and in at night out during the day in winter
Sounds good, just also get a few cotton rugs hoods, and maybe a polar fleece or wool under rug. Also maybe a fly sheet for summer. Keep the cottons under your heavy turnouts always because the turnouts are a bugger to wash. I have 3 cotton sets on rotation for each horse and throw them in the washing machine every 2 weeks. My only thoughts would be do you need both levels of fill stable rugs? You could always put a fleece underneath the lower fill if it was extra cold or wear the higher fill turnout inside. My boys tend to wear their turnout rugs in the stable as well unless its too warm, which is why I ask. Don't know whether this helps, the weather may be very different (i think maybe my winters/fall/spring are a bit warmer) and also the types of rugs available may differ but my ponies outfits are summer: day- light cotton flag rug cotton hood or fly sheet (never naked because of showing, their coats fade) summer night: cotton rug hood or ripstop or both if cooler. Autumn/fall spring: day: cotton + light canvas or cotton + polar fleece night: 180fill turnout rug/neck rug over cotton Winter: Day: cotton + polar fleece + canvas (or no fill turnout instead of canvas if wet) Night: cotton + 250 or 300 fill turnout rug neck rug. once clipped which is usually early winter they get cotton rug, polar fleece hood polar fleece rug + 250 fill turnout. This is just in general, of course I does vary according to weather changes. They are stabled at night and out during the day all year except on their end of summer 'holidays' when they run around naked in the paddock for a few weeks. :) I love rug shopping, it becomes very addictive, beware! :P If you are in the uk, get this hood rug set, I love it :) bestturnedout .uk/images/bsheep... My horses would probably be embarrassed to be seen in it never speak to me again, but I like it, bit too expensive to ship to Australia sadly though :(
Q: The discoloration of carpet
Know the flowers with blanket material base down jacket not rinsed traces can not clean blanket to use washing machine drying Lun (dry shade) from the manufacturers directly to re wash wash wash do not wash the carpet like home (for acrylic blanket blanket) for pure blanket with a towel wipe it dry wet brush look at the effect of turn to clean and don't let the color on the area do not get clean
Q: Please define a "RUG" ?
A rug can be picked up and moved to another location, carpet is permanently installed.
Q: I'm going to remove laminate that's already on it, I was wondering, before installing this carpet, I'm going to have Luna do it since they install it for free.Do I need anything under the carpet/on the floor before they install the carpet?(I heard people put wood or baseboard or something under the carpet, then like some soft pads or something. Anyone have more information?)I really want to get this done right for my home office, thanks.
I don't know much, but I would install some sort of padding under the carpet - the floor people should do it with the installation of the carpet (if you purchase it from them). The company you purchase the carpet from should also know this. Good luck! PS - get a thickness of padding that goes with your carpet - plush carpet may need less padding. One thing things to consider - Is there enough height under my door to fit carpet and padding? (Or will I have to cut the door down?) Also, if you don't have a thin and hard carpet, then you will have to get a plastic-floor thing to roll your chair on (if you have a rolling char).

Q: My cat has a bad hairball problem, and whenever the seasons change she'll have barfing episodes almost every day for weeks. Okay here's the part that really boggles my mind:Our house is all hardwood floor, with linoleum in the kitchen and the bathrooms. We have a few throw rugs here and there. Now, out of all the places to puke, she ALWAYS chooses to puke on one of the various throw rugs in the house. One time I saw her retching and I picked her up and put her on the linoleum and she ran back to the throw rug and hurled, refusing to barf on bare floor. I really wish she would barf on the hardwood or the linoleum because then I could just quickly wipe it up instead of having to pre-treat and wash the rugs all the time. Does anyone know why cats prefer puking on carpet vs. bare floor surfaces?
Because cats are smart and lay around on nice soft cushy carpets and unlike mans best friend they don't like cold hard floors. So when they're ready to throw that hairball out, they do it on the nice cushy spot that they're already on.
Q: I am wanting a rug or something that will help my horse cool down but not let her catch a chill cos she sweats after riding-what is a fleece rug for and excersise one for-also i do ove 2ft jumps and moving on to cross country-should i get tendon boots for my horse and will they fit cos shes a big footed highland-BEST ANSWER GETS 10 POINTS-HELP
The best rug for cooling down is a cooler obviously. There are different versions of these some are like a mesh whilst others are more like a waterproof sheet with technology that makes them wick away sweat and water. I don't know which of these styles is better but they both do the same job. A fleece rug is usually used for a horse in a stable as it is quite warm but not waterproof. An exercise sheet is good for using when warming up a clipped horse as it keeps the quarters warm whilst allowing the shoulders to move freely. They should really only be used for hacking or slow work as they can cause the horse to overheat and sweat. When doing cross country it is a good idea to use tendon boots but spend time finding ones that fit well. Speak to someone at a local tack shop as they are usually very helpful with finding products that will best fit your horse. Something I was taught with boots that might be of interest is to buy full tendon boots and open front tendon boots. The open ones can be used when warming up for showjumping competitions as if the horse hits the poles, she'll feel it and will make an effort to jump higher next time.
Q: Whats all this nonsense i hear about shampooing carpets and such? can you really do that? and like, how? hah sorry apparently my friends mom was doing it to her carpet yesterday and i am bored and thinking about doing it to my carpet but i need to know how first :D
People call them carpet shampooers but they are actually carpet steam cleaners. Real carpet shampooers can cost over $1000, while most basic carpet steamers cost under $200. You can rent a Rug Doctor (or a similar brand) carpet steamer from home improvement stores (Ace, Lowe's, Home Depot, even some grocery stores) for about $20. The most important factor when steaming your carpet: steam-clean it only once. You may be tempted to steam-clean it numerous times, since you've rented the machine, but if you do this the carpet pad and the floor will remain wet and your carpet will smell moldy and musty. I own a Bissell Proheat 2X carpet steamer and I steam my carpets every 2 weeks, but then I have cats and a dog. When you rent a Rug Doctor, you can also buy the shampoo and other treatments at the same time. Or you can go to the carpet-steamer aisle and pick out your own favorite smell of liquid carpet cleaner. Or, if you are very careful, you can use a small amount of laundry detergent instead. Too much detergent, and it will remain in your carpet and actually attract dirt.
