Q: how to wash the carpet?: Clean it with hot water!

Q: A new home I'm thinking of buying has been allotted a $16 per square yard carpet allowance by the builders. Is this low, reasonable, or high? Will this be enough to carpet the house with some of the higher end carpet such as stainmaster?Thanks!: This is a normal amount for a builder's allowance. They do not allow for top quality..that is the way it works. You can purchase what you want, and they will just take off the allowance and you pay for the extra. Not many will negotiate..this is just the way it works. No biggie..just pay the extra to upgrade to what you want. Your kitchen cupboard, countertop, bathroom, all fixtures and flooring are like this ...upgrades can be had you just have to pay the difference.

Q: has any one had them out to clean your carpet and if so is it worth the money? give me some stories good or bad about them: Used them many times and they are very reasonably priced. If you aren't moving your furniture (which we didn't) make sure they put everything up on blocks so as not to stain the carpets until they dry. It's a normal procedure for them but they can mess up and your wood or fabric that touches the wet carpet will stain it. When they are done your carpets should only be damp and not wet to the touch. If they are wet don't let them leave until the carpets are only damp. Stanley Steemer is a franchise operation so not all franchises are great. I use them for a whole house cleaning but use my own steam cleaner much more often. I have saved a lot of money by owning my own steam cleaning machine which is a Bissell. I can keep up on carpet cleaning routinely as opposed to waiting until the carpets are in dire need. I would recommend after you use Stanley to buy your own cleaner.

Q: what to do if there are foam pieces on the carpet?: Add two or three drops of essential balm or floral water, it can prevent mosquitoes in summer. sweep the carpet with a broom dipped in a mixture of water to remove the odors. Clean or hang out in the basin with 500 ml of water in it.

Q: what material carpet is better if the house is humid?: wool carpet is not suitable for wet house, because it is easy to mildew and become smelly. you can try plastic carpet, but it is not beautiful

Q: I want the Rambo turnout lite in a 5ft or a 5ft 3, but whenever I contact an intenet seller about this, they say that Rambo rugs only go down to a 5ft 6. Is this true? If so, it is very stupid. Especially as Rambo rugs are such a large fit. My horse is meant to be a size 5ft 9, but he's wearing the Rambo lite in a size 5ft 9 right now and it is hanging off him, I measured it and it's 9 inches too long.: so I'm completely confused because generally people don't measure rugs in feet, it's in inches- sizes like 68, 70, 72... Rambos do run large- my mare has a Rambo and it hangs down to her knees. go with a different brand or look for pony sizes

Q: My fiance and I are moving into our brand new house this week. The home is brand new but has been sitting empty for nearly a year. My question is with the brand new carpeting, I know I should at least vacuum to remove the loose/excess fibers in the carpet, but I'm also debating renting a basic carpet cleaner from Home Depot. Would that be overkill or should it be done?: Depends if it's a good quality carpet. If it's a cheap thin carpet I wouldn't advise you deep clean it as the water will saturate it and also make the underlay and floor boards damp which makes it smell. Unfortunately we have that problem now from washing our carpet. I would suggest maybe using shake n vac if you have that in the states just to freshen it up.

Q: My wife and I have a 5' X 7' area rug which we want to dye brown. It's a deep pile wool rug and the fibers are dense. How does one go about this? We would have it done professionally but there are no skilled people where we live. Any help would be greatly appreciated.: Absolutely, fabric dye such as Rit will do a great job, however the size of the rug may present another problem. If it is larger, maybe mix up the recommended amount of dye, have the carpet outside on a tarp, pour the dye and use a squeegee or a brush to work the dye in. Hope this helps.

Q: My puppy is basically almost fully potty trained and he messed up the carpets pretty bad of course...it was expected haha anybody know a good carpet cleaning product to clean well and also make the floors smell good? i have a steam cleaner (its a BISSELL) ive used it once to clean the entire area it does ok, but i was hoping maybe there is a better product out there.: I noticed this post is pretty old but for those who may stumble upon it. Many carpet cleaning products contain peroxide or other oxidizers. I do not believe that oxi clean will damage carpet
