Q:What is the best way to take care of carpeting? How often should I vaccum? Should I use Resovle on it everytime I vaccum? Or any other suggestions? Thank You.: Vacuum when it looks like it needs to be. there inst really any 'set' amount you need to do it, it all depends on how often the room is used. i think at a minimum you should do it once a week and at most once a day. You don't need to clean it every day, but if you invest in a pressurized carpet steam cleaner then you can give it a quick clean once a week or very two weeks or so to stop dirt from building up and causing discoloration. if you an afford it then buy a Vacs carpet cleaner and use that once every two weeks or so instead of the steamer. regular vacuuming and a steaming/cleaning every two weeks or so will keep it looking and smelling great and lasting longer! Q:will it mess up the carpet or don anything negative in general: Yes. I've never seen a warning not to and never heard of a fridge fire. Wow people her are paranoid. Only issue is cleaning the carpet from dropped food.

Q:I am looking for a recipe that I can put in a spray bottle. A lot of the homemade concoctions I'm finding are ones that require dumping and rubbing into the stain, which I don't want to do as I have hardwood underneath and I've already overwashed my carpets from when my dogs were puppies. A lot of the store bought cleaners have discolored my carpets. I would like a solution I can spray on and blot up. Thanks: Dawn dish soap does wonders on oily stains. Scrub it in and rinse well. Then wash as usual. I've also had really good luck with just covering a stain with liquid Tide, letting it sit, then washing. As far as the carpet, I just just plain hot water on mine. I have a light weight Bissell carpet cleaner. It doesn't do a professional job, but it works pretty well. I wouldn't use anything flammable on either your clothes, nor your carpet. On your clothes, even rinsed out, it is not advisable to dry it in a dryer, as the oil from the flammable chemicals do not rinse out easily. On the carpet, you never know when heat, or a spark could come in contact with the floor, and having your living room burst into flames would not be fun.
