- It'd help to know what exactly is in your carpet - do the hairs bother you or has it been peed on - or worse!? For hair, the best thing I've ever tried is scraping carpet with a rubber-soled shoe. Once you've done a bit the hair all clumps together and can be picked off by hand - not as much hassle as it sounds! For pee you'll have to wash it, which is a hassle without a proper wet vac. First check if any friends or family have one you can borrow, or if there are any companies nearby which will hire one out to you. If not, try using something like Shake 'n' Vac, which is a powder that you sprinkle on the carpet and then hoover off with a conventional vaccum cleaner. If you're still really desperate then you'll have to get a big bucket of warm soapy water, scrub it in with a big scrubbing brush, put a dry towel on it and stomp around on it to pull as much of the water back out of it as you can, then wait a very long time for it to dry out again completely. This is a massive pain in the a*se though, so try the other methods first and maybe stick to just washing any really bad bits with water if you have to!

- no doubt about it they will come out. I bend carpet all the time around corners. It will take a little time for the carpet to relax but it will. You could help it by unrolling it so it will flatten overnight. Also if it's still wrinkled tomorrow you could use a steamer. Just steam the wrinkles for a second. When the installer stretches your carpet and kicks it in the wrinkles should come out anyway.

- just pull it up..you will need a scraper..pliers..and a hammer..use the pliers to pinch the carpet in the corner and pull it up..once all the carpet is pulled up..go around the edges..you will see a slim board like a ruler with tacks..pry that up and trash it..next using the scraper from one corner to the next slide it slightly to look for any staples or finishing nails..any staples located use the pliers to pull out..finishing nails use the hammer to nail back down..once that is done..clean the floor well and tada...

- Well I live in Australia [ yeah dont ask why I am on the uk ireland one - thought I signed up to the other one LOL ] In winter it will be around the mid teens [ degrees celcious ] and usally windy and cold, my horse will have his winter rug on - 600d medium weight. and that is it. As soon as it is middle of spring comnig into summer I strip him and leave him unrugged. in saying this he is a hardy horse and he was unrugged for years before I owned him so he doesnt really need to be rugged, I just feel bad in the middle of winter having him rugless.

- The washing machine can't wash the carpet. Because carpets and washing clothes are different, are generally more heavy, area and relatively large.
- Q: Always been as natural as possible with my horses inc rugging, deciding if it's time to rug my old guy (I say old but he's 18 which isn't that old I know!). He's a warmblood, 18yrs used now as a pleasure/trail horse. - I live in Queensland, (gold coast). as well and i have always rugged my horses. Specialy in winter. It has been so cold lately and i think we are in for the coldest winter in a long time. Remember the cold may affect his joints just like in us humans they get stiff etc. So maybe joint supplement aswell. But i would think that you should rug him this winter. EDIT** Haha geez we live close. i live in mudgeeraba lol. Yes if the sheet is wetthrough take it off otherwise its just going to make him extra cold having a wet rug on. im going to be doing the same thing as my winter rugs broke and i gotta get them fixed.

- You have to be careful with wool, a lot of products that can clean carpet can also damage it (though typically, good wool carpeting is very cleanable compared to the synthetics or cheaper wool). The solution is dependent upon the stain and color of the stain. Your best bet would be to have it professionally cleaned using hot water extraction (aka - steam cleaned), by a reputable carpet cleaner. By reputable, I don't mean one of the large corporately owned companies, as they seem to nearly always do a horrible job. They're very in-and-out trying to make a quick buck, though they may be cheaper. They should be using chemicals to clean the carpet, and have the proper knowledge and know how to diagnose the stain and then remove it. Even if the stain cannot be removed, a good carpet restoration person can dye it back to, or very nearly to, its original color easily. We do this all the time on all colors of carpet. Without seeing the stain, its hard to tell you what exactly might work. Also, if you don't know exactly what you're doing, and you try it yourself, you could actually make the stain worse, or set it in for good. Might be able to tell you more if there was a picture to see the stain though. Anytime you spill something on your carpet that you know is likely to leave a stain, the best thing you can do is put water on it, and just keep it wet until you can have it cleaned, preferably as soon as possible.
