- Q:what size and what type water pump do i need?i am wanting to pump water from a river 345'-0 up hill at 45deg angle. i would like the water pump located at the cabin where the water dispursement would be. is there a pump that would allow me to do this. also, what size piping should i run from the river to the cabin. i can fabricate my own collection box at the river.any suggestions would be appreciated.

- Dont know how it is possible to put a water pump on wrong...only goes on one way. if its not right it will leak to all hell. the only way this will hurt your engine is if it ran too hot. Did it overheat before you bought it in to get fixed? now, i dont know what kind of vehicle. some car's timing belts run off of the pump, and even then worse case, with an interference engine, you could bend some valves and your car wouldn't even run which would cost you to fix the head. where did they tell you the clicking sound was comming from? what year/make/model? could be plain bad luck.
- Q:I've never had overheating problems before, (although the heating itself never worked great) but today the gauge suddenly spiked while driving at about 50mph. I pulled over and steam was coming off the engine and the cooland tank was bubbling. The coolant was low, but not empty. I put some water in the coolant tank, let the engine cool and drove to a gas station where I got some coolant which I mixed with the water in the coolant tank. That didn't seem to help any. Even after letting the engine cool completely, it spikes after less than five minutes of driving. The radiator and both top and bottom hoses are equally hot. When I tried to start the engine with the radiator cap off, cooland shoots up out the top. The fans are working propely and there is no debris on the front of the radiator. So I'm sort of at a loss. Also, I've had some trouble starting since the problem.
- Hi so your issue is most likely the radiator cap as well over time the spring in the lid of the cap which retains pressure becomes weak over time.
- Q:ok so i have a crack in my radiator a small crack but anyways yesterday it caused my car to over heat. i normally keep coolant in the car but it just got low and over heated pretty bad. so today the car is making a really loud annoying noise. coolant is also draining out of the bottom of the engine when the car is on. at a pretty good pace. it is coming out like right under the belt area so my friend said it is probably the water pump baring and he said it could have gotten damaged when it over heated. so i think these symptoms def point to the water pump. anyways i called a mechanic and he said that he had to change the belt to and he said he had to charge me $385. what you guys think. does he need to change the pump and the belt or just the pump? and is $385 a rip off or is that the going rate? thank you all for your knowledgeand information
- Read the above PLUS realize that you MUST use ONLY genuine Toyote coolant in your car. Other coolants will cause further deterioration of your cooling components. I have seen Toyota cylinder heads that look like Swiss cheese from using the green stuff. Also, make sure that your mechanic uses only genuine Toyota replacement parts, and NOT rebuilt pump. Replace the tensioner and idler pulleys now, as well. The price is a rip off if cheaper parts are being used. If these are all factory parts, then this price is GREAT!!
- Q:Alright,I happen to be the only man in the house and the plumbing is a bit faulty. You see,the machine has been filled with water as necessary and was ignited. It sounds perfectly fine and you can feel water run through the pipes connected to it, when touched. But it's been an hour now and the taps are not producing water. Please can anyone help? Under normal circumstances,there should be enough water now but the taps are all empty despite the water running through the pipes. What can I do? Please help. I filled it with even more water and there's no result. Help please. Thank you.
- If you are in a very cold climate you could have frozen pipes. If not call a plumber.

- The post above me is right on just take your time and make the bolts tight but don't over do it . Flush out before install of new pump. good luck
- Q:i drove up a hill which was about a mile and when i got up the hill i drove anther half a mile to my location and as soon as i tuned my car off i notice coolant leak for the reservoir tank and being dumb i took the cap off off and i think you know so i drove it home after letting it return to a lower temp and it didn't run hot it just raised 2 line above the middle marker and i ran it today just to idle and refilled the tank and let it run it didn't leak but the Serpentine belt made a noise not loud but noticeable (could this be a bad water pump and i flushed my radiator before they swapped engine out which was not long ago) the current engine is used and run fine with power and pep
- How Bad did you get burned when you pulled the cap off the HOT Radiator?? Sounds like you need to Boil/Flush Out the cooling system again since the Engine Swap, make sure the Coolant you add is 50%-50% Antifreeze Clean Water, Replace the Belt. is your Radiator Cycling Properly? Does the Belt run the Water Pump or is it run by the timing belt? Year Mileage. Thermostat in the Used engine could be sticking half closed?
