Q: Simple question that i want to know answer to.
Anything mechanical can break. Nothing lasts forever. Valves wear, bend, brake. Reasons usually from over revving, or neglect. If you race you can crack a guide, bend a valve, have valve to valve contact. Valve to piston. That's usually timing off or over revving. Mechanical timing off. Skipped a tooth or two on timing chain. Just went to George Town two weeks ago. One of the guys I ride with had valve to piston on the intakes on his CRF 450. His timing chain skipped a tooth. Luckily it was on the way back to staging.
Q: Hi.i have a question seems maybe ridiculous but is very important for me.When you want to stop the motorcycle in a usual condition you should press brake handle.Question is that in usual condition you press brake handle till it hits cycle handle or press it just a little? Thanks
Front brakes are usually very aggressive so you only press them a little bit and they already brake pretty hard. The rear brake, with your foot, is less aggressive so you usually press a lot harder to get it to brake the same as front. This depends on the bike though if you have a motorcycle with 2 front discs and 1 rear disc or drum then my answer will apply to you. If you have only 1 front brake, it may be different.
Q: Need a front brake hose for a 1981 Honda CM 400A Hondamatic. Would appreciate any links. Thanks.
This is a motorcycle. Since it is a Honda, go to your Honda dealer and get one. The worse case is that you may have to take the fittings off and have one made for you at a hydraulic shop. Most places that service tractors (John Deere, Massey Fergusson etc.) should be able to do it or at least tell you where they get theirs done.
Q: because of rising gas prices i think it would be smart to get a motorcycle.
It really depends what you want to use it for. If your into long distance touring you might look at a Harley Glide or a BMW but neither are the most economic. If you live in a city and just want to get around locally go for something really small like a 125cc. which may do up to 100mpg to perhaps a basic 500cc which may do up to about 60mpg. In either case a Honda would be the most reliable bet. If you want something that goes faster and maybe averages about 40mpg get a 600cc sports bike. In this category Hondas are again the most reliable and should keep their value best. If you buy second hand try to find a bike that hasn't been trashed or crashed. Ask for the full service history to ensure its been properly maintained and check to see if its been used for track days if you go for the sports option - if it has stay clear. Hope this helps and good luck.
Q: HJ125-8 motorcycle prices
It should be estimated that more than 4000 yuan to 10,000 yuan, depending on whether the domestic or imported.
Q: I‘m interested in purchasing a motorcycle. I‘ve ridden before and i know how to drive. The issue stems from the fact that my father is in possession of all of my money. I‘m 18, but unfortunately, the state i live in has the age of majority set to 19. My dad had a rather bad wreck on his motorcycle last year and was stuck in the hospital for several months. He had to have several surgeries to repair the damage. He refuses to acknowledge that the wreck, which occurred because the brakes locked up, was his fault. Had he practiced proper maintenance and storage of his bike, it wouldn‘t have occurred. That being said, his wreck also occured on the interstate. I‘m fully aware of the dangers. I‘m planning on riding only on backroads while im in college. It‘s a small town and i won‘t be traveling much, therefore I won‘t even be in a situation that could lead to the same kind of wreck. What can i do to convince him to give me MY money for the bike?
Most likely you'll have to want until your 19, I've had a lot of friends, relatives have wrecks and some took their life's. I've found that when some people give up riding because of a wreck or someone else's wreck, you can't change their mind. I'm afraid you'll have to wait. riding 50 yrs and counting
Q: why liquids are used as brake fluids?
Liquids are not appreciably compressible. Brake fluid is a type of hydraulic fluid used in brake applications in motorcycles, automobiles, light trucks and some advanced bicycles. It is used to transfer force under pressure from where it is created through hydraulic lines to the braking mechanism near the wheels. It works because liquids are not appreciably compressible. Braking applications produce a lot of heat so brake fluid must have a high boiling point to remain effective and must also not freeze under normal temperatures. These requirements eliminate most water-based solutions.
Q: I‘m looking for the average price ranged for a brake adjustment/replacement for a 03 suzuki gsxr 750
GSXR 750's are designed, like each motorcycles, to end on the front brakes – it is the reason there are 2 extensive discs on the front and a tiny one on the returned so the quantity of extremely use in anger (extremely than utilising it for the duration of a hill-start up) ought to be low, then returned wanting alternative at 10,000 km (6200 miles) isn't that undesirable. particularly why you will possibly choose to fasten up the returned is previous me yet doing that is going to placed on the rear brake pads way swifter. the key clarification for brake fade is the fluid boiling because it reaches those temperatures it compresses extra (the extra it could compress, the fewer hydraulic rigidity gets to the pistons interior the caliper); the key clarification for fluid boiling is repeated heavy use, there's a warped rear disc that's inflicting warmth (sarcastically probable brought about via warmth from the pads); if warmth isn't the subject a warped disc will additionally push the pistons returned into the caliper – once you come back to apply it you will ought to depress the lever numerous situations to get rigidity up – it is not brake fade however the rear disc desires to get replaced. to lessen the probabilities of it occurring at an important 2nd base your braking around the front brake and don't ignore engine braking.
Q: i am pushing dead air - it goes down to where it touches the muffler and has no holding power. i bought the motorcycle used a couple of weeks ago, it had just passed inspection. i drove it maybe 10 hours. i realized i was using the back brake too much to slow down - sometimes stopping without the front brake at all. do you think i screwed it up? i remembered briefly my teacher saying u have to use both brakes, or you‘ll either lock the front brake or destroy your back brake. of course, forgot all about this until i did it!! do u think that is what happened? will i need a new brake pad? can i make some adjustments to make it brake harder?
First, I would check the brake pads to see how worn they are. Second, I would bleed the brakes to ensure there is no air in the lines. Third, if it still doesn't work I would check the master cylinder. It may need replacing if it is an older bike. My '99 Buell had similar problems and it wound up being the master cyclinder. Most bikes have simple rebuild kits to replace the seals and master cylinder as this can be a common problem.
