Q:I'm having problems with my washer not filling, instead water is going directly out the drain. i want to see if something could be stuck in the pump. Q:97 izusu rodeo has constant squeal after timing belt, water pump and all belts being replaced what could be the cause. It sounds pretty bad.: If the water pump has been replaced I would suspect either the alternator, the belt tensioner, or the A/C compressor. It's usually one of the first two and not the later, but check all three. It's an izusu so my guess is the alternator barring is worn out. Generally, In my experience, the power steering pump will not squeal unless it's ran low on fluid. The barring in the power steering pumps are usually submerged in the power steering fluid. I could be wrong but I'd check the tensioner and alternator first. Also check any idler wheels.

Q:Hoping that someone may read this.Broke down yesterday after re-filling coolant when car re-heated and mechanic who rescued us advised that the water pump is leaking and requires replacement.Our local garage have advised that to change the water pump also requires a new camber (?) kit and including both and 3.5 hours labour their total quote is ?315.08.This sounds crazy for changing a water pump - can anyone shed any light and reckon that they may be taking the mickey?Am not technical so wouldn't attempt to do work myself, however if we go back to garage, or to others, I'd like to know exactly what work needs doing.Thanks!: Make sure that they are using ONLY genuine Ford parts and Ford genuine coolant. Anything else is a BIG rip-off. Ford has an exchange program for the pump. THe belt MUST be new, and the coolant from ford will protect for 100,000 miles since it was DESIGNED for YOUR PARTICULAR CAR!!! Don't believe in universal coolants! That is a LIE!!! I have seen many holes in cylinder heads from bad advice and bad coolant. Don't kid yourself. It is pretty much normal to replace the cambelt with the pump, since the pump is part of the tensioning mechanism for the belt. Good LucK!!

Q:i took off the water pump cover on my 1986 cr 250 and discovered that the impeller wont come off. ive tried turnig it the wrong way and the right way. can someone please tell me how to get it off.: Adding to jon's answer - loosen the nut by turning it counter-clockwise.

Q:just changed the water pump on my lower unit installed the lower unit and started motor now there is no water coming out of the upper flow tube is it becouse the engine is not warmed up yet or is something not lined up ...........: It shouldn't take long for the water to come out. Make sure the site tube isn't plugged up. If not, check your installation out.

Q:im buying a mazda 626 for 800 abd the owner selling just let me know that the water pump is going out. is it a fairly easy fix or should i keep shopping for a vehicle?: your car WILL over heat and you will need a new engine if you dont change the water pump. most people dont have the luxury of knowing their water pump is about to go. so what you do it go down to advanced or auto zone get your self a DIY book for your car 15.00 and a water pump 50 and some accessory belts because if yoy go through all this trouble to take them off you might as well change them. also check the timing belt because you will have access to it when u remove the water pump if it looks likes its going to go bad in the next 10K or so miles change it. when you remove the pump and belt change gaskets this is most imperative!
