- Q: Mentally asked, now a lot of cars and the like, headlamps are the same with a glass ball. Protruding, looks very domineering, with the eyes, that is what light? Very high technology? - Q: I drive a Auto 02 corolla with 120,000 miles. when the check engine light came on back in may, friend drove it to the shop for 2 days to fix. After i got it back i was told the exhaust pipe needs to be replaced(or something with the exhaust system i wasn‘t there) so the CEL dissapeared for a week then came back on, i been driving it with the CEL on since may, it makes very loud noise when i step on the gas pedal. should i keep driving it? it doesnt affect the engine right? Thanks

- Q: I just purchased a 2007 BMW 335i and was wondering how this may be done. I know I can turn them on by turning on my parking brakes. Also, I can run daytime running lamp bulbs but those look kind of ugly. I just want to have my coronas turn on when my light switch is turned to automatic. Any ideas? Thanks in advance.
- The coronas, normally called angel eyes, ARE the DRLs. They come on whenever the parking lights (not parking brakes) are on. They can also come on independently if you have it set up in either i-Drive, or if you don't have navigation then by using your instrument cluster menu system. It's all in the owners manual. Placing the headlight switch into the auto position will turn on the headlights if it's dark enough or if it's raining, which then turns on the angel eyes since the parking lights come on too. If you have DRL turned on as mentioned above, they would be on all the time and then the headlights would come on once it got dark outside. The parking lights are the orange ones on the very outside of the headlight assembly. If you have DRL enabled in whatever menu system you have, they are on all the time regardless of the headlight switch position. The angel eyes are run by a single bulb for each side of the car, a 35 watt H8 to be specific. The inner headlights (what used to be high beams) are the cornering lights and are operated by a 55 watt H3 bulb. These come on individually when turning if the headlight switch is in auto (and it's dark). They also both come on when backing up if in auto. The outside lights are the high and low beam lights, and should be a D1S bulb assuming you have xenon lights. These lights also pivot when turning if switch is in auto (and it's dark).
- Q: I have a '07 Corolla CE. I have made no modifications to the original motor, transmission, etc. I have noticed that my heater is not nearly as strong as it was in the first few years of owning the car. Of the 4 available strengths that the heat blow normally the 1st one barely has any effect. Generally the 2nd is okay but not great. The only time it seems to be generally working okay is when I am on the highway and at a cruising speed of 60+mph. I have noticed the same thing in the summer when using my air conditioner though it seems to be even weaker. I usually have to use 3 if not the 4th highest setting of strength to get a comfortable feeling within the car. Though in the A/C's case it does seem that it is speed affected. What are the likely causes and fixes for this situation. If you happen to know what the price range of the fix would be as well it would be appreciated.
- When only lower fan speeds are affected, but everything is fine on the highest setting, this is always a bad blower motor resistor. This is a low cost part, lookup online or call around for the best price. It is easy to get at and plug&play, a nice little DIY job. EDIT: A/C just works better at highway speed because more air is moving through front grill and the condenser. At a red light you must depend on a little radiator fan under the hood to remove heat from the refrigerant as it condenses. If at a red light you suddenly notice warm air from the vents or engine shuddering with the A/C on, then this indicates a problem with that fan or its circuit. If cold air returns when you speed up, it is definitely not low on r134-a, and adding more with a broken condenser fan will definitely damage the compressor.

- Q: I take my pixs on manual or aperture priority and usually can get the light that I want, but not the sharpness. I am shooting on Fine and i always try to keep my ISO low if I can, I also remember to white balence for each new environment. Is there something else that i should be doing because I am so disappointed with my shots even though I love the composition.
- It would be helpful to see some examples and know what kind of camera you are using. Most people cannot handhold below about 1/30 or 1/40 of a second shutter speeds and have a sharp image. Make sure your shutter speed doesn't get too slow. Also, lenses are not the sharpest at either wide open or the smallest aperture If you are using a dSLR, you probably need to do a little post processing and use unsharp mask to get the optimal image. Consumer digicams apply sharpening in the camera, most dSLRs do not. I agree to do a tripod test. If the picture is sharp from a tripod, then you have to work on your technique. BTW, I don't agree that autofocus doesn't work good. There are instances of course, where autofocus might struggle a bit, but in most normal shooting situations, AF is spot on, especially in a modern camera. It is possible that your AF has a problem, which would mean a repair job, but in general AF systems are reliable and do a great job.

- The check engine light comes on whenever there is a computer fault or multiple faults. You need to go to auto-zone or oriellys and have them pull the codes for free. Ones you know what fault codes there are, then you can actually fix the problem. It's probably an oxygen sensor fault of some type, since it takes 3 hours to come back. Could also be an intermittent engine miss, or it's related to the fuel tank evap system. Go get the codes, then you will know what to fix.
- Q: our 1999 expedition battery light illuminated and moments after the lights dimmed and it lost all power took it to auto zone they tested the alt they said it was good and they said the battery was shot but it was the opposite the alt was bad maybe the battery was bad but it still cranks the engine over without any problems replaced the alt and everything is ok i‘m just wondering why they told me something that wasn‘t true
- Alternators don't start cars. Mechanically good starters and fully charged batteries do. The alternator should be charging the battery once the engine has started at the rate of between 13.5 -14.2 volts. The alternator provides amperage for all the cars electrical systems when the car is running. I'm pretty sure the non-mechanics at Auto Zone didn't tell you that!
- Q: The Brake Light was blinking and ABS was solid so I changed my front brake pads rotors and sensors. I noticed the front driver side sensor was cut so I had to rewire the sensor by hand.After replacing these my brake light is blinking and ABS is solid. When I first start the car it beeps 3 times.When I try to run a VAG-COM on the ABS and Brakes I get a error. - I would have It Changed. Old system was probably R-22 Freon. as you say new 1 is R410a it Runs at Higher Pressures.
