Q:I have a 2007 ford fusion SEL 3.0L V6 with 100 thousand miles on it but in really great shape. I got a check charging system warning on the screen, but no light on the dash. I noticed it was a little weaker at starting, but not extremely weak. I checked the battery with the multimeter and got a 12.86 volt reading while off, and a 12.33 volt reading while running and max electrical activity, which I dont think is really that low for my alternator‘s size. Now I just tried to start it and it was practically dead, I heard one successful revolution and then everything shut off: radiator fan, dash lights, headlights, everything. After a few more tries it finally turned over, and now starts like it did before (slightly weak). Any other auto people have advice? By the way when I couldnt get it to start i did use the multimeter again and it still had a 12 v reading. is there another way i can check the alternator?: I agree with RWO, your battery readings are too low when the engine is running. The alternator should be putting out somewhere in the vicinity of 13.5 to 14+ right after a start if its operating as intended. I'd check the alternator at an auto parts store, most will do it for free, because the symptoms you describe are classic for a bad alternator that is not putting out enough to charge the battery much less run the electrical system.

Q:I was driving today to work in some snow. After switching highway lanes a couple times (which made me go over piles of snowat relatively high speed), the car started vibrating and humming, like if I was driving on really rough and hard terrain. It is always in motion. It has variable speed based on rpm. No shifting, it does it for you.

Open the Garage next time just so you don't get Carbon Monoxide poisoning. Your best bet is to take it in to an Autozone or Advance Auto Parts where they'll put their diagnostic device onto your car (for free) and tell you what the problem is. They can reset the light and if it stays off, you're fine. If it comes back then have a mechanic replace whatever part was indicated as having a fault.

Q:I just bought a 92 mazda mx3 gs manual and the check engine light pops on then off every now and then while I‘m driving it. What could be causing this?: There is a code being tripped by something under the hood that is doing that and then correcting itself for a bit. If the car's running okay otherwise, I've found the most common thing that does this is an 02 sensor. Since they rely on a 'count' system that has to agree with the 'count' produced by the next 02 sensor inline, then the code trips and then when you're driving they tend to 'agree' with each other later. I have a couple of vehicles that do this and even after changing the sensors I still get an intermittent light that comes on. If you want to verify that there is a code tripped, you can have your checked for free at those discount auto parts places. They'll let you know what the code says if it is still in the computer on your car.

Sort of hard to tell you what it may be without knowing what DTC is set in the vehicle. Either go to auto parts stores & let them scan it if they can or dealership & let them fix it. Check Engine Light on?

Q:Can anyone tell me how to make an homemade auto mister for a chinese water dragon?: Well, I said it last time you posted this question, but if you're only misting the one lizard it would probably be simpler to just mist with a bottle a couple times a day unless you're not around. I don't know about making a mister, but would a drip system work? It can be as simple as a 2L plastic bottle with a couple pinholes poked in the bottom, set on top of the screen on top of your dragon's tank. Try to have it dripping near where your basking light shines so the water will evaporate back into the air raising the humidity. If you're still having humidity problems, you can also cover up most of the screen top with a towel or some tin foil to keep it from drying out so quick. You'll have to keep an eye on your temps though as this will usually also raise them some.
