- Q: My current tires are 195/70/14, I will be getting 205/55/16. My current tire PSI is 32. What will my new tire pressure be?
- There should be a sticker from the car manufacturer. It will be on the drivers side door jamb or in the glove box. It lists the recommended tire pressure for that particular car. This pressure will give you the best performance and handling on your particular car. The rear tire pressure is normally 2-3 PSI lower than the front tires. It will also give you different PSI ratings for if you have anyone in the back seat or stuff in the trunk. (This would require a slightly higher PSI in the rear to make up for the added weight.) The PSI number on the sidewall of any tire is a MAXIMUM PSI that should be put into that tire. Since you are going from a 14 inch tire to a 16 inch tire, it might throw off the car manufacturers number. You are going from a 70 series to a 55 series also though. This should almost even out the difference in 14-16. The main factor is probably the 195 to the 205. As long as you don't get any rubbing when turning the wheel all the way left or right, the tires should be fine on your car. You could always ask the dealer which pressure. I wouldn't go by what the guys at the tire store say though. Every time I have ever bought tires, they put all of them at 32-34 PSI. (Some tire shops have different ideas of what the ideal tire PSI is.)
- Q: Why is it so difficult to make new tires reusable and longer lasting, recycleable so we don't have to just dump them and buy new ones?
- tires get recycled every day. playgrounds in my city all have recycled-tire surfaces, that's just one example.
- Q: I live in Quebec so studs are legal and winter tires are mandatory by law from Dec 15 - March 15. Our old set of winter tires lasted us 3 seasons and we‘re considering getting (new) studded tires next winter.Do the studs provide extra life for your tires? My husband was told they can last 2 years longer because once the studs are gone you still have a decent winter tire. Is this true? Can a tire be re-studded? Or once the studs are gone are you just driving around on nubs?
- This Site Might Help You. RE: Do studded tires last longer than regular winter tires? I live in Quebec so studs are legal and winter tires are mandatory by law from Dec 15 - March 15. Our old set of winter tires lasted us 3 seasons and we're considering getting (new) studded tires next winter. Do the studs provide extra life for your tires? My husband was told they can last.
- Q: Can somebody tell me how old are these tires : DOT 4VTA DL5X 468
- okay lets see im a girl but i do know the answer because my dad works on his car a lot and when i bored my dad just tell me stuff about the tire and stuff and other stuff about the car. soo all you need to do is go online on a tire shop website or if you want you can just call a tire shop and if you got a tire book like my dad does the tire shop number is up in there.
- Q: i have 2 worn out tires in the front. should i just rotate them with the ones in the back (not worn out)? or just get new tires anyways?what are good tires that wont ware out fast for my matrixi think i need 16 in tires
- Your master cylinder is bad. It is bypassing internally. Replace it. Problem fixed.
- Q: What is the aspect ratio of car tires?
- The aspect ratio is also called flattened flattening ratio is a data of tires, which refers to the percentage of the tire tread height and the maximum width of its cross section. Flatten refers to the percentage of the maximum width of the cross section (crown) of the tire longitudinal section height. Simply said is the tire aspect ratio.
- Q: How can I tell if my 2008 F150 has a tire pressure monitor? The papers say it has a Onboard Diagnostic System, ADCAB3, but does that monitor tires?
- It was built in 2008, that means it has TPMS. Every vehicle sold in the United States since the mid-2007 model year has a direct monitor TPMS system as mandated by law and it is seperate from your OBDII system which monitors emmissions related functions. There is a yellow warning light for the TPMS that lights up every time you turn the key on and your owners manual will describe its function.
- Q: What tools do I need to change my car tires?
- After all the preparations are ready, you can start the first step: the removal of tires. In the demolition of tires to pay attention to is not to use the jack to lift the car up, you should first use the socket wrench to the tire fixing screw in accordance with the diagonal order loose, and then use the jack to lift the vehicle stand up. If you lift the car first, you will find that you can not remove the fixing screw because there is no force. Remove the fixed wheel screws to pay attention to the direction of force: counterclockwise for the loose; clockwise direction to tighten. In addition, because the screws of the fixed wheels are tightened, we can use the power of the body. After loosening the screws one by one, we can use the jack to raise the vehicle locally. Use the jack to pay attention to: both sides of the car are placed on both sides of the jack slot, and must put the jack on the card slot, to avoid accidents. Jack after the support, will be loosened screw in turn easily removed, then you can win the tire as a whole, which means that the tire was successfully completed.
- Q: I have a 2003 Honda C-RV that is maintained regularly. It has 33,000 miles on it. I‘m going to be driving from the SF bay area to Arizona and back later this year and I don‘t want any tire problems. Should I be thinking about getting new tires?
- My GMC Yukon has a rear windshild wiper. I'm sure there are more automobiles out there that have them.
- Q: How do car tires break?
- New ones
