- Q: my car will start up fine and as long as you push the gas its ok. but sometimes when its at stop lights it will start to sputter and shut off. I have had fuel filter and air filter changed also had o2 sensor changed the man that works on my car said that was it but still does it.i am a single mom does anyone have a clue what it might be?please don‘t tell me to take it to a mechanic .small town one in town cant afford to keep pay him to fix it all till he figures it out.thanks
- We really need to know make, model, and year. No car is designed to do that (I sure wouldn't buy one that stalled by design!) so we are looking for a weakness, and each model and year has its own weaknesses. I agree the mechanic is in the dark about the cause - O2 sensors don't have enough influence on mixture to cause idle trouble. You don't mention a check engine light, which makes me suspect it is older than 1996 - the year the modern OBDII monitoring system became mandatory. If it 1996 or later the EGR system becomes the top suspect because it is one of the few systems that can have powerful effect on the idle quality without turning on the check engine light. Regardless of the year, cleaning out the throttle body is an easy do-it-yourself job that can only improve the idle. Carburetor cleaners in a spray can work well - auto parts people can explain anything the directions on the can leaves unsaid, and you probably have friends who have done it.
- Q: I‘m looking for a new Semi-auto (light-weight) shot gun that I can put a rifled barrel on and use as a slug gun. I was looking around and found out Benelli‘s semi-autos have an inertia system instead of a gas one. Does that system still use the recoil of the gun? How does it work different from the gas. (and if you know of any good light-weight semi-auto slug guns please feel free to post any oppinions or info on that) (except Remingtons, I can‘t stand em)
- I hunt waterfowl with an M2 and like it. I've had several semi autos over the past 40 years and find the Benelli to be my favorite. Keep in mind that most of the name brands build a quality shotgun and the biggest thing to consider is how it feels (fits) to you.
- Q: it does the same in 4 wheel auto. when I hit the button to go back to 2 wheel I can hear something clicking & the 2 wheel lights up as should
- When you push the button and it flashes then goes back to where it was,it means that it won't complete the shift. Most times,you can hear the motor move meaning the system is trying to make the shift. Most times its the Encoder Motor Sensor that needs replaced. I'm pretty sure year 2000 up to 2003 you could replace the sensor only. The sensor is not telling the Transfer Case Control Module(TCCM) that it is to the position requested,so it goes back to the last known position. Just unbolt the Encoder Motor from the Transfer Case,the sensor is under the plastic spacer where the shaft sticks out.
- Q: my friend was driving my car and after a few instances of quick acceleration, the check engine light went on. The oil dip stick had a little bit of bubbles but after putting it in and out of the slot, it looked alright. It is the 2000 Volvo V70 XC with 92K miles. Everything has been done (timing belt, water pump, tensioners/pulleys, brakes, tranny oil, engine oil, etc) except tune up i dont think has been done ( i recently bought the car). After the light went on, i drove 10 miles on the highway home and it feels perfectly fine. What could this light mean? maybe disconnecting the batery might clear it? im trying to avoid a big repair bill as i just bought the car and dont have money

- Position lights is the vehicle to show wide lights, that is, when the open double jump lights, before and after the four flash lights. The wide light is the turn signal. Simultaneously flashing for use as a warning.
- Q: I get alittle agitated at auto makers that now put fog lamps on cars ,and will come on whenever you turn on the regular headlights . They blind most people as they shine excessivly brighter and confuse the other driver into thinking you have your bright lights on . I located a pair of airplane landing lights , and was thinking of installing them on my truck as fog lamps ,no amber lenses, just plain white bright lights that‘ll reach out Are they a good idea ? Some people notoriously point their fog lamps up so as they think they are brighter but dont take into consideration that they actually blind the other drivers , or, turn their fog lamps on just so they can see that extra 1/10 th distance further .Not saying I‘m right at doing so , but , why not if ya think I‘m wrong .
- Shure, put them under the wing tips as you will get a ticket either way. Those lights are illegal on a vehicle and if you cause someone to wreck because they are blinded by them,,, Well you will have to live with that one. Edited: Not trying to be mean here but the CANDLE WATT POWER of those lights prohibit use on an automobile with the exception of off road use only. They are way to bright for road use. As others can testify if you have vision problems like I do and wear glasses to drive, a 9 volt flashlight is partially blinding, especially in the rain. The lenses in our glasses refract light, amplify light and cause us to see 15 lamps where there is only one lamp. It would be impossible for me to see if you came at me with those things on. I guarantee you that if my Daughter is injured in a wreck because of some illegal lights on front of a car, the law will be the least of the drivers worries. I will go to jail over that.
- Q: Can i just do the big 3 upgrade to my factory alternator and battery. Would it hurt my alternator or battery? I don‘t want to get another battery or a capacitor. Should i match my power and ground wire size. Thanks in advance.
- getting a battery would just be the easiest thing. start with having it check (free) at a local auto parts store
- Q: Ok. i have been hearing some things on here like: i will have to get a new alternator, battery and 1/0 awg wire for a system thats amp is pushing out 900w rms at 2 ohms. However, i have went to 2 very reputable local auto shops and they have both said that my current set up will be fine for 900w rms, no doubts. my car is a 96 civic ex, with stock alternator, basic battery, and 4 AWG wiring that i was told was good up to 1000w rms. Keep in mind these are very reputable local shops. So, my question is basicly, whos full of shiit and whos not?
- You went to the local auto shops and asked them? Being truthfull they're not going to help much but yeah you should be ok if the car is going if the off and your doing parking lot listening than your car will die in like 10 minutes if you dont do a lot of parking lot listening just upgrade the cable 2 o guage wire
