- Q: I use a Nikon D90 in a no/low light situation for concerts where flash i strictly forbidden. The issue is that the AF assist illuminator light is way to white and bright to be used in this circumstance. It just to closely resembles a flash and will get be booted and blacklisted from certain venues. So the question is this. Is there an accessory or workaround for improving the ability of the cameras auto focus without using the bright white light that is the assist lamp? It looks like the speed light accessory have a red autofocus lamp but that you would have to shoot with a flash to use it? What about a gel pack, or similar over the existing lamp?
- I agree with everything Eclipse said. Also in general, the center AF sensor is the most reliable in low light. Select your AF area mode to dynamic area and use the rear selector pad to select the center sensor. Set AF to AF-S. Use the focus-recompose technique, which should be in your manual. Aim the center sensor to a point with contrast or distinct detail, and focus-recompose. Otherwise, you could always revert to manual focus, though it's tricky on crop DSLRs with their tiny viewfinders.

- The SRS airbag system does a self test every time you start the car. You need to repair the problem before the system will turn the light out. Time for the dealer and their scan tool to find the problem by reading the SRS codes. The auto store code readers only do OBD II codes and not SRS codes.
- Q: 61K on the odo., gas cap securely set, used only supreme fuel, auto zone code P 0171. The guy told me that O2 sensors last around 50K mi., and that if I replace it, the computer would anyway had to be reset. Car works OK. Any clues ?
- Auto Zone just wants to sell you something that probably won't fix the problem. All these people that say go to autozone don't really know what's going on themselves. There are about 15 things that can set this code. Excessive Fuel Presure Leaking Fuel Injectors Leaking Fuel Presure regulator Low Fuel Presure or running out of fuel Vapor recovory system Air leaks after MAF (Mass Air Flow Sensor) Fords are very particular about air flow. Did you just have an oil change? They may not have put the air box back on completely tight. Vacuum Leaks PCV System Leaking diaphram or EVR Engine oil over fill (did you just have an oil change) Cam Timing Cylinder Compression Exhaust leaks. Now after listing all of that, it is more likely just a little clitch in the system or as stated earlier if you just had an oil change, when they were checking everything they didn't get it all back tight. What usually happens is the engine ran lean for a brief few seconds and the O2 picked up on it. We never condemn anything the first time the customer comes in with a 171. We clear the light and send them on their way. 99 times out of 100 it was just a clitch. May be an early warning sign but not necessarily a real problem yet. One thing most auto owners neglect is their Fuel Induction Services. The cost about $129 or so and can prevent a ton of problems including injectors clogging up which in turn is related to about half the stuff I listed here. If you buy an induction service from a local shop you might get them to turn the light of for you without an extra charge. The big chains probably won't do that.
- Q: The only other electrical problem that I have experienced with this car is that the keyless entry system wouldnt work when it would rain. Today, it rained and now the tail lights and interior lights remain on when I turn the car off, turn the lights to ‘off‘ and then lock the car. I have checked the fuses and they appear to be fine. There is one small light in the drivers side headlight compartment that is also on and I cant get them to go out! Any help would be appreciated.
- There is a short to ground somewhere. Since car electrical systems are very complicated, this will require the attention of an ASE certified auto electrician.

- no good way to mount it on a sedan that wouldn't cause water to accumulate around the wiper arm and thus leading to rust and or leaking. also the aerodynamics of a sedan force air down the rear windshield and this would rip off a wiper at higher speeds not to mention a rear wiper on a sedan would sling water onto passing cars due to aerodynamics. also due to air flow rear wipers aren't needed on rear windshields as much

- Well, I said it last time you posted this question, but if you're only misting the one lizard it would probably be simpler to just mist with a bottle a couple times a day unless you're not around. I don't know about making a mister, but would a drip system work? It can be as simple as a 2L plastic bottle with a couple pinholes poked in the bottom, set on top of the screen on top of your dragon's tank. Try to have it dripping near where your basking light shines so the water will evaporate back into the air raising the humidity. If you're still having humidity problems, you can also cover up most of the screen top with a towel or some tin foil to keep it from drying out so quick. You'll have to keep an eye on your temps though as this will usually also raise them some.

- eBay baby I got mine there for about the same price that a local shop would charge me for a new one. The only difference is that the shop would keep my original. On eBay I got to keep mine as a back up. If you do get a high output alt. you'd be glad you did but you gotta make sure you upgrade the big 3 well good luck!
