Q: i have a 1994 Plymouth Acclaim with a 4 Cyl Motor and the Check Eng light comes on after i start driveing it for a few miles after the motor worms up really good. so i tho it needed a tune up so i replace the Plugs Wires cap and rotor and new air filter. so it still did the same thing took it to auto zone and they told me it was the inline fuel filter so i replace that and i just put a new fuel pump in to cus i tho maybe that was it but it still dose it. i been useing fuel cleener and that don‘t help. what could it be?? please help.: More than likely it is one of two or three things. 1. The O2 sensor - i.e. oxygen sensor 2. The EGR valve - i.e. inert gas recirculation valve 3. or something in your emissions system The best way to find the actual problem is NOT to just start swapping parts rather have a mechanic read the code or codes that the on-board computer has recorded. Or, you can buy a code reader at an auto parts store and do-it-yourself, just follow the manual. Hope this helps.

Q: I just purchased a 2007 BMW 335i and was wondering how this may be done. I know I can turn them on by turning on my parking brakes. Also, I can run daytime running lamp bulbs but those look kind of ugly. I just want to have my coronas turn on when my light switch is turned to automatic. Any ideas? Thanks in advance.: The coronas, normally called angel eyes, ARE the DRLs. They come on whenever the parking lights (not parking brakes) are on. They can also come on independently if you have it set up in either i-Drive, or if you don't have navigation then by using your instrument cluster menu system. It's all in the owners manual. Placing the headlight switch into the auto position will turn on the headlights if it's dark enough or if it's raining, which then turns on the angel eyes since the parking lights come on too. If you have DRL turned on as mentioned above, they would be on all the time and then the headlights would come on once it got dark outside. The parking lights are the orange ones on the very outside of the headlight assembly. If you have DRL enabled in whatever menu system you have, they are on all the time regardless of the headlight switch position. The angel eyes are run by a single bulb for each side of the car, a 35 watt H8 to be specific. The inner headlights (what used to be high beams) are the cornering lights and are operated by a 55 watt H3 bulb. These come on individually when turning if the headlight switch is in auto (and it's dark). They also both come on when backing up if in auto. The outside lights are the high and low beam lights, and should be a D1S bulb assuming you have xenon lights. These lights also pivot when turning if switch is in auto (and it's dark).

Q: My Nissan Armada '04 service engine soon light has been on for a while. I took it to get a NYS inspection and they said not to get the inspection until I figure out what's wrong with the engine because if they hooked it up to the computer it would be an automatic failure. I recently had to replace a part of the muffler/exhaust pipe because a clamp was missing and they had to weld a piece of piping on. I was just wondering what the possibilities were that might be wrong with it and appx. how much it might be to fix?also: have never had any problems as far as stalling or anything. Is it possible it could just be a sensor thing?: go to autozone and ask to borrow the obd 2 scanner its free they just hold your id till you bring it back hook it to diagnostic port and read code

Q: My battery light turned on few days ago. I changed the battery since it was old, but the light is still on.is it the alternator? or what?: Its a possibility for sure. Most auto parts stores will check the charging system the battery and the starter for free. Just as them to check with the machine inside the store. It sounds like you were aware of the older batterybutt if the light is still on it may have some other problem too. Possibly a bad voltage regulator which is in the alternator or it could be a slipping or worn belt too.

Q: Mechanic turned it off using a tool- said it was an old crash sensor code but it came back on the next day. He couldn‘t trouble shoot it any further- only option on his tool was to turn it off. It hasn‘t been hit in years- why would the light start blinking now? I tried to manually reset it following the procedure but it did not work. He said it is probably the sensor in the console. Is there anything else I can do to fix it. I‘ve heard that sensor is $800. Where could I find it for less? Junk yards like to sell with the airbag which I don‘t need. Is this an easy job to do by myself?: The other thing the mechanic didn't tell you is that if the air bag light is on The Air Bags will NOT deploy in case of wreck. That is the computer telling you is detects something wrong with air bag system and it has disabled it. impact sensors are single use items. Once they have been triggered they have to be replaced as far as i know, this would explain your issue. I'm not absolutely certain about the sensor some confirmation would be nice.

Q: Ok. i have been hearing some things on here like: i will have to get a new alternator, battery and 1/0 awg wire for a system thats amp is pushing out 900w rms at 2 ohms. However, i have went to 2 very reputable local auto shops and they have both said that my current set up will be fine for 900w rms, no doubts. my car is a 96 civic ex, with stock alternator, basic battery, and 4 AWG wiring that i was told was good up to 1000w rms. Keep in mind these are very reputable local shops. So, my question is basicly, whos full of shiit and whos not?: You went to the local auto shops and asked them? Being truthfull they're not going to help much but yeah you should be ok if the car is going if the off and your doing parking lot listening than your car will die in like 10 minutes if you dont do a lot of parking lot listening just upgrade the cable 2 o guage wire
