Q: I have a 1995 Chevy Blazer, and it has problems starting, idling is very shaky, and I smell burning all the time. It came back on about 30 miles later, and stayed on till I got to work (another 8 miles or so). Truck is running fine.I am guessing it is not my regular batterie (since the gauge shows normal), so is it the batterie for the glow plugs?So, I got out my manual and it says if that light comes on, to have the charging system checked? How? Who does that (preferably besides the dealer)? What kind of out of cost am I looking at? Any help?: Could be the alternator or the battery. It is most probably the alternator. You could take it to an auto parts store. They can test it while its running. You will have to find someone reputable to do the work if it need replacing.

Q: okay my grandmother has a 1997 lexus ls400. with the famous 1uzfe 4.0 v8so today she accidentally drove through about 2 feet standing water and she was able to go to rite aid the on her way home it started chugging she said. i checked it out oils, fine check engine light is on though. when i started it up, the engine idled at like 200rpms then eventually shut off, it did this for about 15 seconds, but it sounds like a misfire. i need help before i consult a mechanic.fyi i do know quite a bit about mechanics i have a 68 cutlass, however when it comes to the newer stuff like the lexus although 14 years old im in unfamiliar territory with the ignition system and electronics: Use a code reader and find out why the check engine light is on. Q: Preowned vehicle, Starter works very well,(hold both buttons down for -under two sec.)I have accidentally ( eep!) turned on the security system 4 times. (when it is on, car will not start, even with key) , can deactivate security feature by pressing # 1 button.BUT have no idea how to turn it on on purpose!Have tried just about every combination of buttons I can think of!I think this was installed at the GM factory because we have an idiot light on dash that reads ‘security‘ when the system is on. But I think it has been reprogrammed to become a remote starter as well. And naturally no manual or such came with the car.We always lock doors manually, using the power locks, could that be related in anyway???Happy New Year by the way. :): I had this problem with the 300esp, after pushing 100's of combinations I went to a local guy who hooked up to the brain and he was able to reprogram the brain and add a new key fob for 49bux. ALOT easier than playin the guessing game. and not too expensive either. I know on the 300esp you can accidentally change the settings by turning on the key and operating the valet switch a certain number sequence. After I guessed and played around with a few sequences I thought it might be.I only made the problem worse then went to the local guy. good luck

Q: Ok heres the problem, I was driving for an hour and a half in the snow and everything seemed fine, except my car has a tendancy to slide to the right a lot.
