Q: i think when i was pulling fuses i set it off?: The air bag light will only come on when it does a bulb check at key on or when their is a fault detected. Check to be sure the fuses are in fully, if they are off to the dealer you go to have it fixed.

Q: I have a Grand AM GT. My Service Engine Soon light came on recently and I cannot figure out why. I know it is not because of the gas cap because this happened before and back then it was the gas cap and now I religiously turn the cap 3 clicks when putting back on. I recently had a Fuel System Cleaning at Sears and I am wondering if that maybe has something to do with it? The light went off yesterday but came back on today. Also is there an easy way to clear that light, one that doesn‘t require a visit to a mechanic?: It's time for an oil change. Instructions for resetting the light are in the owners manual.

Q: I thought I knew everything about these cars and was home free. While driving, the battery light will come on for a few seconds/minute, a message will say CHECK CHARGING SYSTEM, than turn off again.However we replaced the battery and alternator a year or two ago, and got about 40k without any electrical problems. Otherwise, The car is not acting weird. But It almost has 190,000. Besides the common ABS problem, this is the only thing that is acting up with it. I am thinking maybe dirty or loose connections to the battery? Its been really rainy these past days. What Should I check? I would hate to get rid of this van.: The charging system light indicates the battery isn't being charged properly. Clean and re-tighten both ends of the battery terminals. While one battery cable is off, check the red alternator wire connection. Using an inexpensive hand held volt meter the battery voltage should read between 13.5 - 14.0 volts with the engine running. This is the proper alternator charging voltage. Never assume that because the alternator is relatively new it's working properly. Box store electrical parts are cheap junkers to say the least! AC-Delco re-manufactured starters and alternators have 100% brand new internal parts and carry a lifetime warranty.

Q: well i am seeing that everyone is saying that we are only required to pay liability. basically pay the damages you inflict on the other car. The Auto Insurance system is backwards then. Why are we paying to cover the other persons damages, wouldnt it make more sense if the person pays X amount of money every month to cover their own asses? that would mean that if i chose to not have insurance and i happen to get in a wreck then that was my choice and if the person i hit was smart enough and payed for insurance to cover themselves then what would be the problem with that?what are your thoughts?: That's what a no-fault plan is, and several states have it.

Q: I have a chevy blazer ls model, i was trying to replace a fuse in my car when i accidentally pulled out the fuse for the tranny. Now the check engine light is on. Why is it on? Can i reset it?: Pull the fuse for the ECM/PCM for a few seconds, that is enough to reset the ECM/PCM if OBD2 (1996 and later). If this is OBD2, and the light is not flashing, it is not a serious problem. OBD2 systems take multiple restarts (up to 50) after a problem has been resolved, to turn the light off. Or, you can go to an auto parts store, and they should be able to turn the light off if OBD2.

Q: The TC warning light comes on during slow ( city) speeds on my 5.3L 2wd 2005 Tahoe LS but the TC light goes off at highway speeds. Does this point to a sensor leak? The brakes when applied at slow speeds do make some noise at times ( but not all the time) when the TC light is on.: J. D., To clarify, I am not an auto technician. In the owner's manual on page 3-68 it says, if the brake traction control system activates constantly or if the brakes have heated up due to high-speed breaking, a TRACTION SYS LIMITED may appear. Per the manual, this is normal and the message should only display briefly. There is also more detailed information beginning on page 4-9 through 4-13. However this light could still indicate it needs to be serviced. If you feel unsafe, I would take it a Chevrolet Certified Technician. The difference is that I think that is an indication of something worse. Amco transmissions is probably not telling you the truth. I would go to AutoZone or any part store and get the CEL read by them, the code is still in there if the light is stil on. It might just be the O2 sensor but while changing this cheap little part, they will make believe they also changed the cat. Get a different opinion on what's wrong and where ever you get it fixed, ask beforehand that you want to see the old part.

Q: Last night the power went out, and today my monitor keeps flashing Auto Adjust in Progress. I‘ve tried about everything I can think of; pressed the auto adjust on the screen itself, rebooted, updated my drivers. The last time this happened I found a file in my global start up that seemed to be causing the problem, and got rid of it and the message stopped, but that file isn‘t there anymore (it came from my isp‘s installation disc--i was trying to fix a different problem with it), and I‘m not sure what to do. Q: The spoiler light on my 2002 Honda Accord died. I already checked the light itself, and discovered that it is a LED, and not a standard bulb. All other external lights appear to be working normally. Does anyone know if there is a simple fuse that needs to be replaced, or do I have to replace the entire spoiler light itself?
