Q: When I use my automatic start, all the lights turn on, dash, tail and all (its supposed to be that way) but once I reset the auto start (by pressing on the brake) the dash lights shut off and the tail lights also shut off.If I put the car in park and set the lights to day time running, the dash board lights come back on, AND the tail lights?Have any ideas whats going on??: The instrument panel lights and tail lights are both part of the same electrical circuit. When your automatic start system was installed, the installer probably tapped into your taillight circuit for a hot lead. It is probable that something in your automatic start system is shorting out the power source for your instrument panel tail lights, causing them to fail. Have a competent mechanic check out your wiring.

Q: I have a 1995 curris. My check engine light comes one after 10 minutes of driving. i took it to a shop to find out what the deal was, the auto guy was like when you drive it you can feel it when the car drops cylinders. what is the cause of this? i get reg. oil changes since i do alot of driving. once a month i have to put fuel injector into my tank, what should i do? some one reconmmended to me that i should like clean out the engines system or whatever with some fuild type stuff. if you think u know what im talking about, do you think that will work? at tymes it does have a burning smell.: Usually dead cylinders are the result of an ignition system malfunction, such as a fouled plug, bad spark plug wire or coil, as well as a couple of other possible culprits. If the shop you took it to couldn't find out what the cause was, take it to another shop. You can also go to Checker Auto, Autozone, etc., and they will read your 'check engine' light for free. If you have a misfire, the code will come up as a 'cylinder number x misfire', or 'multiple cylinder misfire'.

Q: the daytime lights (i think) on my car keep flashing, the car is completely turned off, no keys in the ignition, there is no alarm on the car, so i don‘t know why it‘s doing this. has anyone heard of this? the car is an oldsmobile aurora also.: Well it sure sounds like the relay for the daytime running lights is acting up bec basically the comp tells the lights to stay on via a special circuit that feeds the daytime relay system. Although you've not even mentioned the yr , make , model , engine size etc I highly believe if you check the daylight lights circuit you'll find the relay that is faulty.More then likely this relay would be in the under the hood fuse panel but is possible it might be in the main fuse box in car but I highly doubt it. It's a good idea to get a detailed service manual for that vehicle too. Hope that helps and best of luck.By the way it is possible if you had frayed or bare or damaged wiring this problem could occur but I doubt it , keep in mind that even a comp can cause this type of problem.Also I'd go to a do it yourself auto wreckers and try getting all the relays , fuses etc that that vehicle has so you've parts on hand to fix this problem and for any future troubles.

Q: I have had alot of work done on my pickup lately.new plugs, new wires.and the check engine light keeps coming back on uld the 02 sensor in the bank 3 be shot.it won‘t pass inspection like this.any suggestions.: At Autozone, ask to borrow their diagnostic tool and stick it in the opening under the steering wheel, it will throw a code at you, you look it up in a book, and voila! Sometimes it even tells you right on the device what is wrong. If they insist that you buy it, then buy it, and return it for a refund five minutes later when you're done.

Q: I thought I knew everything about these cars and was home free. While driving, the battery light will come on for a few seconds/minute, a message will say CHECK CHARGING SYSTEM, than turn off again.However we replaced the battery and alternator a year or two ago, and got about 40k without any electrical problems. I would hate to get rid of this van.: The charging system light indicates the battery isn't being charged properly. Clean and re-tighten both ends of the battery terminals. While one battery cable is off, check the red alternator wire connection. Using an inexpensive hand held volt meter the battery voltage should read between 13.5 - 14.0 volts with the engine running. This is the proper alternator charging voltage. Never assume that because the alternator is relatively new it's working properly. Box store electrical parts are cheap junkers to say the least! AC-Delco re-manufactured starters and alternators have 100% brand new internal parts and carry a lifetime warranty.

Because of the age of the vehicle, I'd recommend the dealer as they have the diagnostic tools and manuals for the older cars rather than taking it to a trans shop or independent who doesn't have access to those resources.
