Q: The check engine light came on and when I brought it to Advanced Auto Parts the print out DTC code is P0455 and the description is EVAP Emission Control System Leak (Large). Can anyone help me I just need an idea of what the problem could be? Thank you!: If they are talking about evap emmisions i would check the filter and the vaccumn hoses going to the can. Q: i recently installed a amp and sub in my car,,couple of days later the battery light is on.why is this???someone told me it cud be because i dont have a battery terminal on my battery on the postive post, and because my battery isnt grounded,,like sum 1 told me the negative battery post has to be grounded,,,mine was never grounded??? my amp is butso help me i dont really noe u my battery light is on??? i never listen to the sub and amp when the car isnt turned on,, and the battery and alternator are in good condition: It could be a number of things, the only way to know for sure is to have an obd2 diagnostic run on your car. Auto Zone will take a look at it for free for you. some possibilities are: simply disconnecting the battery could trigger the light to come on. poor or corroded connections the extra strain the amplifier has put on the electrical system may have damaged the battery or alternator. My guess would be that a drop in voltage caused by the amplifier brought the vehicle's voltage down below 10 volts. This would trigger a warning light on the vehicle, making it think something was wrong with the charging system. That is what the light is for, to let you know when there is an issue with the voltage.

Q: Abs light is lit. How can I resolve it? And if I want to repair it by myself, what car diagnostic tools should I buy and use. If it doesn‘t repaired, what will happen?: When the abs light is on, the abs system should shut down and standard braking should presume. You still need to have the system checked though.

Q: my friend was driving my car and after a few instances of quick acceleration, the check engine light went on. The oil dip stick had a little bit of bubbles but after putting it in and out of the slot, it looked alright. It is the 2000 Volvo V70 XC with 92K miles. Everything has been done (timing belt, water pump, tensioners/pulleys, brakes, tranny oil, engine oil, etc) except tune up i dont think has been done ( i recently bought the car). What could this light mean? maybe disconnecting the batery might clear it? im trying to avoid a big repair bill as i just bought the car and dont have money: Advanced Auto Parts stores have a machine that they can hook up to your car for free and it will tell you why your check engine light is on. If you don't have an Advanced Auto near you, most other car part chain stores will probably do this. However, the problem will probably require a mechanic to fix it. I had a problem that I ignored and it eventually led to a three thousand dollar repair! If I had just fixed the minor problem that was causing the light to go off, it would have only cost me fifty dollars.

Q: I have a 2005 Dodge Stratus and it cut off on me while I was driving twice over the weekend. Each time, I took it to my mechanic, and he said my electronic system (or something like that) needed to be reset. He also said to not let the car get low on gas. The car seems to be running fine today, but I noticed that when I turn the key to the on position, the engine light glows, flashes for about 5 seconds, then stops flashing but continues to glow. I know the the light is supposed to glow as long as it is in the on position, and should stay on for about 10 seconds after I turn the engine on, then go off. But is it supposed to flash in the on position? ( this is the first time I left the key in the on position for more than about 15 seconds). I‘m taking my car to Auto Zone for a diagnostic check today, but does anyone have any idea what‘s going on with my car? And does this sound like a problem that will be covered under a warranty?Thanks: it sounds like you have a bad sensor causing this to happen,and it will be covered under warranty,their suppose to cover all these parts,hopefully yours will be covered,but going by auto zone is a good idea,at least you,ll have some knowledge of whats going on with it,good luck hope this helps.

Q: How much would an EVAP system test be for a 99 Ford Taurus?: As part of an emissions test or do you have a check engine or service engine soon light on, with a DTC for the evap system? I just paid an extra $15. to have the evap system tested as part of the biennial smog program in California. If you are having a problem causing the CEL or SES light to stay on, it will be more. Depending on the code, the most common problem is the fuel tank cap not on securely causing a fault when the on-board test runs on the evap system. Always turn the cap so that you hear at least three clicks when tightening it back on. Try it and drive around a few days and see if the light goes out on it's own.

Q: our 1999 expedition battery light illuminated and moments after the lights dimmed and it lost all power took it to auto zone they tested the alt they said it was good and they said the battery was shot but it was the opposite the alt was bad maybe the battery was bad but it still cranks the engine over without any problems replaced the alt and everything is ok i‘m just wondering why they told me something that wasn‘t true: Alternators don't start cars. Mechanically good starters and fully charged batteries do. The alternator should be charging the battery once the engine has started at the rate of between 13.5 -14.2 volts. The alternator provides amperage for all the cars electrical systems when the car is running. I'm pretty sure the non-mechanics at Auto Zone didn't tell you that!
